RE: Weber Q Recommendations?

We bought the Q120 after reading about it here. It's amazing! In fact, my hubby likes it so much that he wants to buy the bigger version for our house when our current grill falls apart (which will hopefully be soon! LOL).

RE: Seeking opinions on what Class C YOU own/want

We currently have a 31' '09 Winnebago Outlook. We have been very pleased with the quality, handling, everything. BUT we would like to buy a smaller Born Free. My hubby is not happy driving something that big and we are looking to downsize to around 25 or 26 feet. Ours is great once you get where you're going, but maneuvering that big box is not fun for him (he's not very good at it! LOL).

RE: Pumpkin Whip Dessert?

I have to do a gluten free Thanksgiving this year due to my mother being diagnosed as gluten intolerant, so these pumpkin parfaits look perfect! Thanks!

RE: Nexus RV

mumkin, we're not that close yet to buying, but thanks for the idea! I may try that when the time comes.

RE: Cranberry jalapeƱo sauce

This sounds great! Definitely going to try this - I have about 15 bags of cranberries in my freezer that a neighbor gave me and I've been looking for ways to use them.

RE: Nexus RV

We are thinking about trading in our 31' Winnebago - just wish Nexus had some better floor plans. Sounds like a good motorhome, but I just don't like any of the shorter floorplans that they offer. :(

RE: Italian Meatball recipie?

I agree with what Leo Bensen said on Page 1. That recipe is pretty good, but I also do the bread and milk. I personally think the secret to great Italian meatballs is the cheese! I had an Italian mother-in-law and watched her in the kitchen all the time when I was younger.

RE: U-Shaped Dinette

We have the big u-shaped dinette in our Outlook and I thought we could probably remove the table when we bought it to use as lounge/couch, but we've never tried. That table has been one of the biggest disappointments in our Winnebago. It is SO hard to move up and down (not sure why) that we just leave it down all the time. My husband curses that thing every time he has to move the table up or down! I'm thinking our next motorhome won't have a dinette at all. I wanted the u-shaped one so bad and we're really not happy with it. :(

RE: Sleeping

Well, for us, we didn't want to waste square footage on a bedroom. We wanted it all for living space as we travel with 2 big dogs. We have the cabover bed with steps that pull out (no ladder). Very easy - even with my bad knee. Also the couch opens up with an air mattress - very comfortable - and we have a big u-shaped dinette that sleeps one or two people. Even with a 31 foot RV, we didn't want to waste space on a bedroom. All personal preference, I guess.

RE: steps,stairs/ over the cab bed

I don't know if this will help you or not, but my 2009 Winnebago has a set of steps that pulls out of a cabinet. They are carpeted and very easy for me to use, even with my really bad right knee. Here is a picture of the steps. If you would like more detailed pictures, I could take some the next time we have the RV home from storage and send them to you. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/STARFIRE5/outlook15.jpg

RE: Looking for a recipe to use up large marshmellows

Hi Ennajean, I see that you're from Wisconsin - this recipe is actually from my mother from years ago when we all lived in Milwaukee! Enjoy! You'll love it! We always have this one at Christmas time, too. GRASSHOPPER PIE 1 Chocolate crumb crust (I use the Oreo ones) Filling 25 big marshmallows 2/3 cup heavy cream 3-4 Tbs. green creme de menthe (I use 4 Tbs.) 3-4 Tbs. white creme de cocoa (I use 4 Tbs.) 1 cup heavy cream, whipped In double boiler or a heavy pan on lowest possible heat, combine marshmallows and 2/3 cup cream and heat til marshamallows have melted. Cool completely in pan. Fold in the liquors and whipped cream. Pour into chocolate crust. Freeze til firm and store in freezer.

RE: Looking for a recipe to use up large marshmellows

My Grasshopper Pie recipe uses 25 large marshmallows - interested? For anyone not familiar with it - it's got Creme de Menthe and Creme de Cocoa in it. Awesome taste - and yes, it's green. Let me know if you wanted me to post it here.

RE: Need a unit that we can winter camp in.

We camped last Christmas in northern New Mexico in a foot of snow and ice and about 18 degrees ... and we are VERY inexperienced campers! It was only our third big trip. LOL It wasn't bad at all. We have a Winnebago Outlook with heated tanks and double pane windows. We closed off the cab area with a blanket at night and we had a little space heater going at in addition to the furnace. We stayed nice and toasty warm - no problem at all. I don't understand the people saying it's not comfortable.

RE: Let's post some INSIDE pics of our great Class C's!

Mamadubbs, we love our floorplan, too! BUT we are thinking about selling it and getting a Winnebago Via which is 6 feet shorter. My hubby is so intimidated by the size of this one. Not sure what state you're in. Interested? If so, PM me.

Let's post some INSIDE pics of our great Class C's!

On the campsite photo thread on this Class C forum, WandaLust2 suggested that we post some pics of the INSIDE of our Class C's and I thought that was a GREAT idea! Sooooo, since I'm starting this thread, here is a picture of the inside of mine since it's really unique. We absolutely LOVE it! Having problems with Photobucket this morning for some reason, so I hope this works! http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v507/STARFIRE5/007-1.jpg
