RE: RV in Whistler for Olympics

My thoughts too, you seem to be from Whistler and are trolling for a rental.

Sea Dog, I agree with you and attribute it to the differences between US and Canada (along with flags!) jk.
to me, just a prank, they were running before the dogs even barked IMO.

RE: Nomad by Skyline

As per my sig, had it since new. Not sure why people say entry level or good for price?? Is Jayco Entry level?? Mine compares very favourably to them, same finishes, same components, same quality as most others. What makes a difference in a TT is the competency of the builder and service. Skyline does both very well, not one issue with ours, very happy with our decision.
I have heard that quality dropped a little on newer builds, not sure if you are looking at new or used as you do not mention this.

RE: Do not idle Ford 6.4 Diesel

Geez reading over the last year on the issues with Diesels, no matter the makers, is disturbing...
I say screw buying a diesel with ford and there numerous issues, GM/Isuzu concerns etc etc. And to pay more for it. I think I'll stick to a gasser that is well maintained (should cost half to maintain well vs a diesel too!)
IMHO

RE: got my Ram 1500 & travel trailer weighed....results inside

90 percent of accidents occur within 20 miles of home because you drive 98% of the time within 20 miles of home.... Never understood that analogy?

RE: What keeps you inside all day?

There watching a nature show thinking, 'we should do that honey!?' Bows my mind that people would spend that kind of money and effort to do EXACTLY WHAT THEY DO AT HOME. Please don't tell me different strokes for different folks BS. I assume they want to get away from all the gardening at home!!

RE: Alberta to Newfoundland and back next summer

First thought that came to mind for me as well... I know you can't tandem tow in BC and wondered about the other 'Eastern' provinces...
Either way, I also thought WOW, that is a big trip!! good luck, and have fun!

RE: $11,000 gets me a duramax ally in my 01 suburban !!

According to their you tube video, SUV and truck have the exact same floorpan so the tranny will fit as it does fit on the pick ups...

RE: Spied: 2011 Silverado 3500HD

This is a 'refresh' NOT a redesign. Love how people will slam something even though it is a tweak on a 2 YEAR OLD DESIGN. Hey Spend more of your Tax money to make something 'look' better, why not it is only another couple hundred million bucks.
Yes it has Torsion Bars....It is a refresh. Look for big changes in 2011 when they do a REDESIGN...

RE: Airstream no better than others

I have said it a thousand times.
Never buy a THOR made product plain and simple. Not known for quality, they are known for profiting by cutting corners.
Airstream may be the name and the legacy, but since THOR bought them they are brutal. Look at Komfort since they bought them in 2003, quality has gone right down.

RE: Blowing out air lines...

My RV dealer sells the attachment for $4.00, screws into your inlet with a valve stem like on your vehicle tires. Use your air fill attachment for your compressor and off you go!

RE: Is this TT ok?

Johndude,
Also remember anything you have in the truck... ANYTHING will count against the tow weight (as you are 'towing' the stuff you have in the truck. Tow ratings generally allow for one 150 pound driver, so if you are over 150 pounds, add that, wife, kids, dog, bikes etc etc all quickly add up to weight that is often overlooked. FYI.
Best bet weigh you truck with full fuel and you in it, weigh the trailer and figure your tow weights then.

RE: Yes, Ford is worse than Ram(formally known as Dodge)

Retro is cool if the WHOLE truck is retro... Throwing those pieces of garbage on a truck that does not have one stitch of retro in its design is horrible, looks like an afterthought.

RE: 2003 1500HD Chevy Truck

Basically in your travels a 1500HD is EXACTLY the same truck as a standard 2500.
Only difference is the year of the truck in '02 they were a 2500, in '03 the same truck is called a 1500HD. Go figure the GM marketers out and win a prize.
I have the 1500HD, but not towing that heavy so cannot say how it will be on weights, I do know this truck is a very strong puller with that engine, bigger brakes are nice too!
