RE: Firefox browser

Supposedly, in the very near future, Microsquash is releasing a WIN8 patch that will revert the desktop to a more friendly, (Win7, or XP) version.
Due to numerous complaints about "Tiles" and most users not having a touch screen computer.

RE: Finding A Sneak Battery Drain WITHOUT Using A Meter?

Try it the "Old School" way. Take a 12V test light, attach one end to the frame of the RV, the other end to the ground terminal on the battery/ies.
If there is a parasitic draw, the light will be lit. Pull fuses until light goes out. When the light goes out, that circuit is causing your draw.
If you go through all fuses and the light is still lit, you have more than one bad circuit.

RE: Exhaust brake delimma

Most folks add stuff to tow faster. My feeling is, "If I can't stop it, it's going TOO fast!".
You can never have too much braking power.
Get the Exhaust Brake. The mountain ranges you're going to are not very forgiving.

RE: Direct tv reciver locked 771

Have the same issue with DISH Network. When the in-laws travel, they live about a mile from us through the desert, 3-1/;2 by road; I take their receiver and use it in my shop. Doesn't get turned off and I have my man cave.

Remington 870 / 00 Buckshot. May not hit exactly where I want but, it'll destroy everything around where I intended.

RE: Rogue River Jet Boats

Grew up going to Gold Beach just about every month. Recommend the Mailboats. They are usually the first boat on the water. Therefore, you get to see the wildlife before they're scared off.

RE: Dometic RM2852 Question

Thanks Doug for the reply.
Shortly after I posted, I called Dometic and they emailed me the ventilation install PDF.
So, now I know what goes where and maybe, after buying this, my fridge will be really cold.

Dometic RM2852 Question

On the outside of the unit, where the control board is, up at the very top of the unit; there is what looks like a thermistor. It has 2 spade terminals on it, however, only one wire running to it (Red, with 13.22 VDC).
Does the other terminal need to be connected to something? If so, where?
Thanks in advance.

RE: RV PARKS GOLD BEACH, OREGON

We like Indian Creek RV Park. About 1/2 mile inland from 101 on the Gold Beach Side. There is another one further inland on the Wedderburn side also.

RE: accurate satellite pointing without a compass

I just use the signal strength meter that is built in to my Dish Network receiver.
This gets a bit tedious when your dish is 150' away.
Does the cell phone work 150 feet? Just sayin'. We use the radios we use for backing. Probably don't need radios with a MH, tho.

RE: What to do????

People should keep their stuff on their site, period. I would first ask them nicely to move whatever is on my site, and if they wouldn't, then go find management. They can grumble all they want. I wouldn't have asked them to move their towels. I would have gathered them up, delivered them, and then said, "And by the way, your tent is five feet onto my site, so please move it. Now." But then I'm from Texas.
But, you did say "Please". :B

RE: accurate satellite pointing without a compass

I must be technologically challenged. I don't use a phone app, or computer or printer.
I just use the signal strength meter that is built in to my Dish Network receiver. Punch in the location Zip Code and set Azimuth and skew then aim South and go from there.
Works every time.

RE: Is hwy 20 in Calif. a good RV road?

You will be just fine. We use it!
We stop at Aurora RV Park both ways when we go to Klamath.
Nice little bar & grill within walking distance, for the evening wind down after travel.

Here's how to tell if your grocer knows his stuff.
Ask him/her if they have any "Chinese Parsley".
Same stuff.

RE: my first expensive oh ------ this year

Not trying to be a Smart A$$, (that's a first for me). Can't you see the tail gate through the interior rear view mirror?
Not if you have a tonneau cover.
Well, there ya go. Hadn't thought of that.
However, if you look at the pic in the OP's sig, he has a camper shell.
