RE: Please help me with a Motorhome Dilemma

I have 38 foot Newmar Mountainaire with slide, took out the sofa bed and moved the table and chairs where the sofa was, went to lazy-boy and now have two lazy-boys with a end table between them, lot of room and can now turn my L-B to watch the new 42 inch flat screen TV. We never used the sofa-bed anyway.

I bought the antenna that is two pieces one side go out on the windshield and you line up the other pieces inside, it has sticky glue and once it there it there, mine has been installed that way for 7 years, I got mine at Best Buy, then just run the cable to your radio all inside no cutting or plates needed. You will enjoy chan 69.

RE: over heated & Broke down, update now in Flagstaff

wny_pat I just did't want to take a change, when they told me if it went I would be looking at about $25,000 to $30,000 for a new engine, It cost me $2,500 this time, but when they had it tore down I went ahead and put in new water pump, belts. hoses, clean rad. with new anitfreeze, after cooler clean, check all bolts. The cost for the fixing the dowel pin was about $1,000. This shop told me also it could be good for a long time, I had to force them to do it for me. I had the $2500 now, but not the $30,000 later. It your choice but I would I would fix NOW.

RE: Foremost Insurance for MH. Cost seems almost too low

I have been with Progressive for 15 years, mine MH is 15 years old and about every 5 years the cost go down, I am now paying less than $500.00 per year and that full coverage, $500 deductable and they have been a good company to deal with, I had a transimission fire in Ohio and we live in GA, they paid for everything, hotel, mileage to and from home.

RE: 120 VOLT REFRIG'S

I change out mine with a Whilpool from Lowes, $250.00 and its a 10 cub/ft, it went thur the door just. It fit the old opening just right. We use the genset on the road and I have full hook at home. make sure you cap the gas line. I left the roof vent for air and the door on the exterior for access. It took about a hour and a half to take the old one out and replace the new. One man an me ( am 78 ) I put in the black to match the stove next to it.

RE: Tire brand help

My 1998 Newmar came with Michelin, they were good for a number of years, replace then again with Michelin but this time they were not that good about 15,000 miles I had a inside rear blow out and damage the RV bad. I change to G670 goodyears and when up a size from 22570R19.5 to 24570R 19.5 that was about 25,000 miles ago. When I put new tires again I will buy Goodyears. I have to say they show no wear yet!!!!!!

RE: Steering problem. Does not go straight on highway

Had the same problem on my 1998 newmar mountain aire FRED. I change tires because they said they were out of round, had them shaved help some, but still wander down the road. The tire dealer said maybe the tires are to small, ( 225,70R 19.5) so we went with 24570R 19.5. That was 25000 miles ago and it does not wander, what a pleasure to drive now, went to Calf. and Fl from Ga. Have change all tires to new size and I thing that is safety also, it will take extra weight if needed. weighted the MH and have the right tire pressure for the load. these tires are not overloaded for my MH. Just an idea for you.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

Will , I have 37 foot 98 Newmar Mountain Aire, I decided to remove the pull out bed and make the whole area living. Removed day bed, move the dining table to the front of slide and was able to put in the extra leaf by turing the table, make more table for two to set at. Remove the chair next to the door and replace with a table, move chair into the slide and then when to lazy boy and bought another rocker and a small oak table between the two chair, give us more room and it is not a bedroom/living, all living. Steam clean carpet, new TV, with the new Jack Ant. new electric Ref. no more gas Ref. new 8KW genset and installed the Bank on my 5.9 Diesel engine and fixed the KDP, new tires and put Red Max #3 on out side,(6 coats). Now will save up some money so we can use it,!!!!!!!!

RE: Killer Dowel Pin in 5.9 12v

Update to the update Drove the 5.9 12v about 2 miles and had a front oil seal leak, took it back to the dealer, Cummins that is, and they installed it wrong, I told them that you have to clean the area of the seal very good and seat the seal just right or it will leak every time. Will they took it all apart again and redid the seal the right way with a difference machanic, he knew what to do, it now does not leak, no cost to me this time. I hope it fix, will be traveling next week, we will see.
