RE: metal covered fabric awning

Mine's at the shop right now getting the awning replaced. The exposed portion just got brittle and it's failing. The replacement's the newer acrylic awning and I'm having the metal weather shield installed.

RE: toyhauler name's

I named ours "Crime Scene". The story behind that is, my old dodge would pump out deisel smut down the passenger side while underway. Once we'd get where we were going, I could see every handprint down the side of the camper where the wife and kids had touched it. It looked like CSI had been dusting for prints.

RE: Fuzion garage floor rot project

Noted, and thanks for the heads up. Did you also upgrade the cushion quality while you were at the couch fix? My wife hates the thin bottoms and the rock hard backs.

RE: Fuzion garage floor rot project

I've had the same decal issue (they sent a free set that's still in the box)and couch issue (not yet fixed that one) also. I guess I need to take a look around the ramp door and see if I'm 3 for 3 like the OP.

RE: New Dodge

Congrats on the new addition to the driveway. I had an 07 Ram until two days ago when I replaced it w/ a new F-350 so the family would have more room. Man, I LOVED rowing the gears and hearing that cummins purr! It pulled the TH GREAT also. Enjoy that Dodge!

RE: Ideas for transporting bicycles in garage

I just lean them against the chairs that are leaning against the wall and throw a small strap over them. Padding as required to keep them from scratching each other.

RE: blow-out damage to trailer

I like the "mud flap" idea. It just might give enough in a blow out to keep the tire from ripping everything apart.

RE: Jensen MP5000

Just replaced my junk Jensen w/ a Kenwood DVD/CD player.
Can you post a model and source? I checked the Kenwood website and didn't see one listed. I have an Estone radio/DVD player in the RV that took a dump.
Sorry it took me a while David, been camping.
We got the Kenwood KDV-415U DVD player
The Jensen had 4 RCA plugs and the Keenwood has 2. A trip to Radio Shack to get a couple of 2 to 1 adapters and we're golden.
Just spent a week camping and the new unit worked flawlessly. I think this model is discontinued. Check w/ your local car stereo store, they'll have some to look at.

RE: blow-out damage to trailer

Just had a blowout last sat on the way home. It did some damage but, I can fix it. It just makes your heart skip a beat when you hear that loud POP, and the trailer starts to sway.

RE: Thank You For Your Sacrifice

I pass a national cemetary twice a day, and every time I do, I thank those men and women for their help in the freedom I enjoy. I ride through and visit them on memorial day, vets. day and Christmas. today I'll have my 13 yr old twins w/ me to show them where I go on those days and how it chokes me up when I do it. This is the same national cemetary that I'll be laid to rest one day.
Thank you to all the past and present vets out there.

RE: Don't get in to much of a hurry......

Not bad for a truck that size. Mine's around 21.5 rolling 65. Towing 65 gets me around 10.

RE: Good weekend but had a blow out.

My second issue is a visual problem. The graphics are very brittle and are flaking off as well as bubbling. Keystone sent new ones for nothing, but I need to get the old ones off. Any Ideas ot tips? I have heard everyting from spatulas to Wallpaper steamers. If/When I get them off I think I will either replace with minimum graphics or even look at painting. At this point, dark shaddow like spots are way better looking than the graphics.
I just removed all of mine for the same reason and will be installing the new ones soon. I too, will not go back w/ all the decals, just a few select ones.
I tried the heat and pull but they were too far gone to come off that way. Plastic scraper for those that have a little elasticity left, lift and pull. Most of mine got the razor blade holder method. Be careful, don't gouge and you'll be fine. To get all the glue off I used lacquer thinner in a spray bottle. Spray, scrape w/ plastic scraper to get the bulk glue off, sprak to wipe clean w/ many many rags.
