RE: New EU2000i surges at idle

I just bought a new Companion 2000 to parallel with my older EU2000. The new gen runs kinda weird at low loads as well. I wouldn't call it a surge, but it definately "bobbles" around. My older gen runs smooth as glass. I too have been trying to figure it out. It's definately not a gummed up carb since it did it right out of the box brand new. I think it's a setting on the carbHi,my new one is doing the same thing, not the companion but the reg 2000. Not a surging but (bobbling) as you say, also blows white smoke at startup. My old 2000 was still working great when I sold it. (a few thousand hours later)

RE: Do you care

Wait a minute! You pull your trailer onto the CAT scales and the springs, axles, and wheels somehow do NOT get counted in the weight? Please explain the physics involved!Hi, I think what he is saying is that yes it will add weight to the trailer itself but it will not be included in axle weight. (the springs and axles are not carrying the weight)

RE: Do you care

Hi, I had 2 stock rims break on the trailer. They were just chrome steel wheels, I didn't think it would matter but I ordered some custom aluminum wheels and it looks a heck of a lot better..It matters.

RE: Wiring an Inverter to Run a Small Fan in Bedroom

Hi, I also need a fan to sleep. I have tried the 12v fans, either they don't last or they are not loud enough. I use the inverter to power a small table top fan. Allthough I have 4-6 volts in the trailer, I use a group 24 when I use the tent and it has not failed me yet.

RE: Planning a day trip (or 2) to Silverwood Lake.

Hi, there is plenty of riding around the area. You can stage at Cleghorn which is right before the silvewood exit which will take you back towards hwy 15, Or you can stage about 5 miles past the exit for silverwood (don't remember the name)but it is on left before final transition into mountains. Lots of good riding from there. ( all mountain trails)There is tent camping at the lake. On edit the name of the staging area is Miller Canyon ( Thanks Tom Cav)

RE: Maybe found my diesel.

Hi, that looks like a nice clean truck, and not too many miles.(those 7.3s are known to go many more miles) I would do the test drive and if everything checked out I would not hesitate to buy it. Will pull that trailer of yours nicely. Good luck

RE: Need help with Air Conditioner / Hard Start Capacitor issue

Hi, I cannot help you with your capacitor, what size ext. cord are you using? You should be using one rated for at least 15 amps.

RE: Selecting a 5ver For Double Tow

Hi, if you havn't allready, go to the toyhauler forum and there is a sticky on all of the manfs. You can get garage space from about 8' to 16' with an enclosed garage, or longer without a seperate garage depending on the length of trailer you want. Most will have a minimum door height 7-8' many are larger (height of bed being limiting factor) and most have an interior width of about 7'6". Just take your time going from dealer to dealer looking for what you want and remember to take a tape measure with you.

RE: Does your garage start smelling like fumes?

RE: Selecting a 5ver For Double Tow

Hi, I double tow all the time so nothing neg from me. The only concerns would be, unless you get a very small 5th your going to be too long, and 4000 lbs on the rear hitch will probably be too much. (think hitch weight bouncing up and down on back of fiver) Just out of curiosity have you checked out the toyhaulers? many with or without seperate garage that would haul both your toys, Not to mention the generator and higher capacities than a normal fiver. Launching and retrieving his boat would be fun to watch using a toy hauler LMAO. :B SteveHa-Ha that would be tough, but the OP said nothing about a boat. Just a trailer with quad and sxs.

Hi, I pay $189 a month for covered storage. Uncovered is about $120, It is well worth it to me to have it covered.

RE: free camping in and around Mammoth and Yosemite?

Hi, I can't help you with yosemite but in mammoth you can camp at glass creek (between mammoth and June lake off of 395)with lots of biking trails. Also with your truck and camper there is alot of boondocking there.
