RE: Tiny hole in rubber roof - Eternabord or Dicor?

I have done both, I used a a small dab of Dicor for a small hole on the main roof & I used Eternabond tape on our slide out roof. Both will work.

RE: head lights for 2002 sea breeze lx

Are your headlights cloudy or yellow? That can be an easy fix. I polished the headlights on my car with the 3M kit that I bought at Autozone for 25 bucks. Its the best thing I have done for my car for years.

RE: Clicking from A/C area when furnace turns off and on

Stop cleaning out your ears, let the wax build up, this has worked for my wife. She has'nt heard a word I've said for years!

RE: Transmission cooler

X2 Ductape Dave, I added a 6" electric fan to my factory tranny cooler. I am pushing the weight limits of my rig and I know my transmission is the weakest link. Some of the highest temps I have seen on my Scangauge were in stop and go traffic. The best way to a happy transmission is to keep the temps in a normal range, and change the fluid often.

RE: Roof Damage

The Eternabond should take care of your holes. Keep a watch on the bubbles and make sure that they don't grow. You should be good to go!

X2 On the "The Next Exit" book, I bought ours from Amazon and used the free shipping deal. Fuel, Food, and more, very handy book updated each year.

RE: Roof Ladder Supported from Bumper?

I have two 2X4's that I cut so they would fit snugly between the first step of the ladder and the bumper. I don't like the Idea of something perment because the bumper moves up just a little bit when I put the stablizer jacks down. My special 2X4's are marked "ladder" and I only put them in when using the ladder at the end of my trip when I go up on top to sweep off the top of the slide-outs. Good luck and be careful.

RE: Hail damage

Congrats on your new camper! Now its time to get a camper size carport and get out of the weather. I agree, Indiana seems to be hard on the filon sided campers, I have noticed that about 25% percent of hard sided campers around the campground have some signs of delamination after 4 or 5 years.

RE: Electrical voltage drop

Check the plug at the power post for heat, you may have a poor connection. It does not hurt to shine up the power plug contacts with some 400 grit sand paper from time to time.

RE: Issue with small shelf

I had to take some cabnets down in my TT to fix some roof damage, my cabnets had a false bottom that was stapled down, when this was removed I could get to the screws that fastened the unit to the wall. Looking back at your photos again, I think the face (front) panel needs to be removed to access the mount screws.

RE: What would you tow it with?

I hope you can be happy with your gas mileage, it sounds great to me! My wife drives our 2005 F150 and it only gets 11-12 local driving, 14 Hwy. When we are pulling our TT we ave 7-8 mpg.

RE: 1974 17' Great Western

Nice little camper! It must have been kept inside, make sure the roof and windows are properly caulked. It would be a shame if it got water damage now.

RE: Why I don't like state parks

I like state parks over the private campgrounds. I avoid both during holiday weekends.

RE: power plug gets hot

I also think that putting a slight bend in the connector blades is a bad pratice. Yes maybe YOUR connection at that time may be better, but by spreading the post female conntacts farther apart the next guys connection could be worse. Do to heat damage from a bad post connector I had to replace the male connector on my TT's power cord with the Camco replacment plug, so far so good.

RE: 1/4 of tire suddenly bald

When I demounted my Goodyear marithons using my Harbor freight manual tire changer, there was a large bubble on the inside of the tire showing air had got past the inside most liner. I beleve high heat (99 degrees) had alot to do with my failure of 3 Goodyear Marithons. It happened on a short trip of 250 miles, The trip there was hot, the stay was hot (99), and the trip home was hot (same). I saw one was bad while at the dump station. The other two bad ones were noticed while refueling.
