Cable update: The starcraft uses the Goshen stamping crank up lift system. I was able to go to thier website and pull the schematics for the 2660 series system as used on the 3606. Called the manufacturer and was advised it is a easy replacement for the main cable and the lady even ran through the instructions over the phone.
I'll take a look under the camper after work and order the part tomorrow.....just saved at least $320.00.
When I replace the cable, I'll be making a grommet from tubing or hose so the new cable does not rub on any metal as it feeds on to the winch ( the old cable was rubbing on the bottom of the circular cutout for the cable to run through on the tongue of the frame near the winch.
Getting ready for a road trip and the darn cable that goes to the crank winch broke.
Several questions occur to me:
1. Is there a seperate cable for under the czamper that can be replaced without messing with teh cables that go to the roof?
2. How is the replacement done?
3. Is there a repairmanual or section that detais the repair, or do I have to go to a shop and spend $360.00
Any insight and guidance will be greatly appreciated.
After tent camping with my son's Scout pack I'm ready for a family trip in they camper.
