RE: Troubleshoot Vip211k and Dish 1000.4 antenna

Yes bad connections can cause problems..we have a 211K that we use with a Winegard Trav'ler in the Phaeton which is in storage. That 211k is being used with a old Dishpro LNB on a 13 year old small antenna at our storage condo. No HD but all other channels come in fine after "check switch" performed.

RE: Starter Capacitor - Air Conditioner

Sounds like what happened to us on a very hot trip to Virgina. We had one go out about 5 years ago, had it checked out and fixed by a HVAC tech. I bought an extra one from him "just in case" I needed one on the road. Some of the cheapest insurance I ever have bought, it still resides in my "parts" bin in the basement of the Phaeton.

RE: How often have you had to add to your house batts?

We fulltime, the inverter/converter/charger is on whenever the Phaeton is on shore power. I have to add about a 1/2 gallon total, of distilled water every 4 months to our 4, one year old Duracell 6volt batteries from Sam's Club.

RE: DISH RV Dept. Phone Number

Last time I posted the RV dept number you have a later poster said it was no longer correct and he was directed to the regular number. I hope that's not the case, as that dept was very helpful, but I suspect that it is.
Edit: main switchboard number is 800-333-3474, afaik.
Same here a couple of weeks ago.

RE: Who Installed your baseplate

We have done the last two ourselves. 2003 Sport Trac took under an hour. 96 Tracker took 3 hours over 3 days...had to wait for bumper cover mounting clips. Neither one required any drilling for the Demco base plate.

RE: Flojet Macerator electrical problem

Check and see if you blew the fuse in the base of the switch handle with a Volt Ohm Meter, could still be bad.

RE: Question about Coach-Net Roadside Assistance

3 years here also. Used them last week, Scottiemom hit a mud flap hanger at our I-70 exit. Blew out the side wall on the toad, instant "00" on the PressurePro. Called them, truck dispatched from 8 miles away, back on the road in 35 minutes.

RE: Fredricksburg VA to Harrisburg PA avoid Washington??

Worked for us several times in years past..but haven't been over the roads since our daughter moved from the DC area to Charlottesville in 2002.
If it's like everything else in the area..the traffic has had to have gotten much worse.

RE: Interior renovation companies in Indiana or Michigan

We bought our B+ from the folks at Panterra's Holland location, great people to deal with. FYI Holland is or was a sales only location they opened last year, our B+ was on consignment, Panterra's main business was used high-end conversion coaches last April.

RE: Interior renovation companies in Indiana or Michigan

Checkout Focal wood Products, an Amish craftsman located in Nappanee IN. Excellent work, some of the renovators have him do their custom cabinetry, then mark it up.

RE: What does your RV forum name mean?

When I was medically "retired" in March of 2000, I began staying home with our Scottish Terrier, "Bailey" and was compelled to comply with all of his demands. So since Dale (Scottiemom) was a teacher, I as a member of the home bound pack, became one of the "Teacher's Pet(s)".

RE: B+ motorhomes

I've checked the rating tag on our 2004, 213's Hitch last week..350#. I'm getting an aluminum chest set up as a trunk for our Alaska trip this summer. When we switch the Phaeton for the 213 in storage in the next few weeks, I have a local hitch fabricator making a 10" riser/extension and a frame for the box. When we picked up the 213 last year, I used a 12" hitch extender and our Demco Towbar to tow our Sport Trac back to Elkhart from Holland MI, without any problems at all.

RE: I have seen it on pick up trucks but not on this!!

.................. Is this guy for real?:MActually he is right on. Listen to him.
A drop hitch will probably not cost more than $40.
Yes he is correct, but I was out looking for an 8" drop/raise this week and the BlueOX 6" drop I found was $165 at the "major" hitch shop in Elkhart. I've got another local hitch place that will fabricate one for about $65 to raise our "trunk" for our B+.

RE: Michigan State Parks should offer Seasonal/Monthly Sites

A good example of this being a bad idea is the very trashy campground setup at the Muncie Reservior City Park outside Muncie IN. We lived in the area for 30 years but never went to this the campground because of the condition of many of the "seasonal or actual year to year" occupants, that filled this public campground. When the subject of the campground came up at a recreational district meeting a few years back, one upset Muncie Resident called it "Springerville" in reference to Jerry Springer's TV show. Personally I felt this was a complement to the actual condition.

RE: New report on the price of perscription drugs.

Or instead of crossing the border into Mexico, you can wander the "Pulgas" or flea markets in the Rio Grande Valley. Something we saw for the 1st time this winter season, Mexican equivalent prescription drugs being sold out of the back of vehicles, not narcotics but many of the prescription antibiotics that are available in Nuevo Progresso. Not just one vendor but several along with the usual number of "DVD" vendors. I guess this is all part of the "North American Free Trade Agreement."

RE: Disable Awning?

They could put "seals" around the arms like are used on "sealed" loads in some trucking. If the seals are broken you pay.

RE: Maximum Grades on Colorado Mountain Passes

How can there be a different grade on the same road, depending on your direction of travel...:?
I'm also scratching my head on that one. :h
Could he be talking about E or W lanes that are on different elevations on a hillside?

RE: The big 'cut-off'.....

Some times the police don't pay attention. Last week while we were driving our Phaeton north on I95 in the right lane, no where near an exit I might add. I noted to my wife that a SC State Trooper was sitting in the median facing us, possibly checking speeds. Just then a Toyota passed us on the right berm. The Trooper just sat there as the Toyota went on down the road.
