RE: CW serv. dept. wrecked our RV lied and tried to hide it

Wright down ALL the facts, who you spoke to when, dates and time them:
1. Find out who CW insurance company is, I am sure that they are "self insured" that is they pay for claims like this them self.
2. Find out how much you were "damaged". Out of pocket, damage to the MH, Lost of use of the MH, and EMOTIONAL damages.
3. See if CW will pay the amount you think is fair for these damages. If so settle.
4. If not see an attorney. (You may have only 6 to 12 months to bring suit) He/She will be VERY happy to have this case. He will add to the above amount his fee, about 40%. Then he will add "punitive" damages that could amount to 2 to 10 time the amount of 2 above and bring suit against CW. After about a year you should be able to go to trial.

RE: Do you need a printed Calendar?

I use a program called Calendar Creator Plus.
I love my CC+. Most of the time I print 2 months to a page so I can see the future and the print size is about right for these "old" eyes.
If some changes come up, the calender size is large enough so I can write in the changes without reprinting.

RE: Hell's Canyon

One of the LAST GREAT (part gravel) road trips that is still OK for a 2 WD car/truck is the road to Pittsburgh Landing NFS GPS N45 38.150 W116 28.638 (I believe you can dry camp) from US95 near Gragervill ID.

RE: Stuck gray and black tank indicators

There is NO fix. The indicators are only "selling" tools for the un-informed new buyer or week-end camper. They never work more than a short time, so learn to live without them.

RE: Credit Card to use when traveling

PenFed CC Holders,
I just looked at their site and they list several CC's. Which one do you suggest that is best for the for the fuel, grocery, and remainder discount(5-3-1%)?
Thanks in Advance,
LeRoy
Yes they do, make sure you get the VISA 5% card. I applied on line and got the wrong card, called and they cancelled the wrong card and sent me a new correct 5% off for gas card. I use it for ALL purchased. I do have other cards that I use once a year to keep them active.
PenFed Bank is also very good for online banking. No fees.
I also have my stick home mortgage with PenFed. I refinanced with no closing cost, and a very low rate a few years ago. Most was done over the phone and internet with a notary coming to my home to do the closing.
Since they are a credit union, there is some restrictions on joining.

RE: Reflection Tape?

I use the red and silver tape that most 18 wheelers use. I also put strips on my slides so when I am park a few hours with the slides out at a rest area or truck stop drivers can see the slides.

RE: Traveling with a firearm

Get a 12gage flare pistol like a boat uses to signal for help. You do NOT need any permit and can carry in Canada.
I would prefer to be shot with a 9mm than a flare. . :E

RE: Health Insurance Medicare Advantage Emery SD

If that is so then traditional Medicare with a supplement may work better for travelers.
I think you are correct, see my question on Medigap Here

Medigap or Medicare Supplement Plans - Which company ????

I had started a topic on Medicare ADVANTAGE plans, HERE , but I think that that a Medigap AKA supplement plan may be best to a full time traveler.
I think all the plans are controlled by the government and the only difference that I can see is what different companies cost for the same benefits.
So, why choose a "higher rated" and more expensive company over a lower rated and cheaper company?

Health Insurance Medicare Advantage Emery SD

I "live" in Emery SD in a private mail box. My doctors are in Nashville TN. I spend 9 months plus on the road and come back to TN to see the children and see the doctors in the Spring and Fall. I am in good health.
My retirement insurance has change and I qualify (must get) for a special enrollment into a Medicare Advantage/supplement insurance plan.
What do my mail box neighbors of Emery do for insurance?
What company do you use?
The good and bad?
Thanks

RE: Best location to domicile

I prefer tennessee. Tennessee also has no State Income Tax.
Ah, but Tn. does tax dividends and interest income, so it's not totally income tax free.
Because of the above I choose SD even though my children live in TN and I visit more than SD.

RE: Cable or frame for ground connection?

You will have more resistance with a chassis ground than if you added a - ground wire of proper size.
Jim
I disagree. Sure copper is a better conductor than steel and for the same size wire copper would be much better than steel or even aluminum wire of the same diameter. However, the chassis is a MUCH larger "wire gauge" (diameter) than any copper wire you would install thus the resistance will be less.

RE: TST 507 Tire Pressure Monitor System Lost memory

Sounds as tho the alarms are not being stored in memory as the last step in the set-up.
All works well if I drive the truck each day, so the alarms are been stored for a few days. Only happens if the truck is not turned on for more than a week.

RE: TST 507 Tire Pressure Monitor System Lost memory

So I'm wondering if somehow the unit is actually still ON and is running out of battery juice... could this cause the settings to be lost? .
The screen is blank, when the truck is turned off, so I think the unit is OFF.

One of several links is Charleston
A little out of your way, Before you get to Charleston, check out Pigeon Forge TN and Dollywood TN for the kids. Not sure what will be open that time of year. Or check out the USS Alabama in Mobile.

TST 507 Tire Pressure Monitor System Lost memory

I have the TST 507 system.
When the unit is plugged into an outlet, which has power to the outlet all the time such as the cigarette lighter outlet, the TST 507 off/on switch on the side has no effect. Is this normal?
Because of the above, I plug the TST 507 into a power outlet that has 12 Volts only when the truck is turned on -- not the cigarette lighter outlet. I leave the TST 507 off/on switch in the OFF position. This way when the Truck is switched off the TST is off. I believe that the battery in the receiver will lasts several days if the TST is left NO. Therefore, it should last MUCH longer if switch off.
My problem, If I do not drive the truck for a few days, the TST looses the high and low pressure alarm points. Is this normal?
Or should I leave the TST plugged in to a "always on" power outlet such as the cigarette lighter outlet and leave it on continuously.

RE: Tire Pressure Monitor - Worth it?

Good Question! We check tires before starting a trip and do the TT walk around at each fillup when traveling, so basically I am not sure either.
Every one (including myself) should do a "walk around". However, when I had a flat on my TT (about 50 miles down the road) I could not fell it driving at 65 MPH -- I have a Hensley Arrow hitch. A passing car keep point and waving so I pulled over. One tire was flat, and the trailer was rubbing on the other tire. The TT was full of smoke from where the tire was rubbing the trailer. A few more miles and I would have had a trailer FIRE.
I now have TPM.
