4 prong harness to pull a trailer behind my camper

I am going to pull a small utility trailer behind my camper. :E For those who double tow, how did you run the lights for the second trailer? Did you splice the harness at the TV or did you wire it from the lights on the camper?
1. I live in Lousiana, it's legal.
2. The hitch will be frame mounted.
3. I will not check with the manufacturer as NO manufacturer will take the liability for saying it's okay since they have nothing to gain and a lot to lose.
4. The minimal tongue weight from the second trailer will not adversely affect the tongue weight of the camper.
5. Please do not post the picture of the guy who's bumper was ripped off because he had a bunch of accessories bolted to his bumper... it was me. I am going with frame mounted on this camper.
If you have advice on the HARNESS for the TRAILER lights, I am all ears.

RE: Wildwood X-Lite 241QBXL question

I looked at a Wildwood X-Lite the day I bought my Keystone Hideout. I loved everything about the Wildwood X-Lite until I stood in the shower (at the dealership). I am 6'-1" and the Wildwood X-Lite did not offer a dome or vent fan over the tub to give me the head room I needed. I had to bend my neck to stand in the shower. It was a deal breaker for me.
Bought the Keystone Hideout for the exact same price.

RE: RV Check lists

Dang. You even have it in alphabetical order. Mine looks like this...
1. Fill Ice chest
2. Hook up camper
3. Go camping
4. Turn around, pick up kids and wife
5. go camping

RE: Anybody run Maine Tags on their trailer

In Louisiana we have a choice. One year, four year, or lifetime. Prices are $10, $40 and $80 respectively.
This is for all types of privately owned trailers (boats, utility, cargo, camper, horse, etc.) I can not speak to commercially owned trailers.

RE: How did they do it!!!!!!!!

I almost bought a wildwood x-lite the day I bought my new camper. The deciding factor was the shower. I am 6'-1" it did not have a skylight or an exhaust fan in the shower, so it would have made for lots of sore necked showers for me. Other than that I liked it and almost bought it.

RE: Keystone Hideout

I bought a 2013 two months ago and have been living in it while I am temporarily working out of town. I love it. I wish it had a gas/electric water heater. Mine only has gas.

RE: Ever heard a moaning metal sound from your WD bars?

my eaz-lift did it when it was new and whenever it gets wet (rained on). My little boy calls it "the whale".
"daddy, I think that whale is following us again"

RE: Need to replace side decals on TT

I replaced the decals on my 06 Jayco. I bought them from the local Jayco dealer. The whole set was around 250 bucks and took a whole afternoon to install. Looks like a brand new trailer.

RE: Adding stabilizer jacks

I have the same camper and the DW complains about the rocking on occasion. I use the BAL chocks and she thinks it helps. One time I used all 4 jacks, the chocks and a bottle jack under/near each axle and she still wasnt happy. I think it's all in her head.
Glad I don't own a boat.

RE: has anyone used flexseal for leaks?

I had a small leak in my jon boat, so I cut out the bad area (36" x 6'-8") and installed a screen door covered in flex seal. I can paddle around my neighbor's pond all day and I have no leaks.
I also used a $12 can of flex seal to repair a $4 terra cotta flower pot, then I bought $8 worth of paint to repaint the $4 terra cotta flower pot.

RE: Leaf Springs Maxed Out???

They do look pretty flat. Too bad you dont have a picture from before you loaded the trailer. Is there a dealer nearby with an empty camper to compare it to?
Side note, I had an enclosed cargo trailer that I noticed a similar situation to yours. I swapped the leaf springs with a beefed up spring (went from a 3500# spring to maybe a 5000#) on a single axle trailer. It did look a lot better and the trailer pulled better. I probably voided the warranty and broke every engineering rule in the book, but I did it and I lived.
If swapping the leaf spring isnt an option, is purging some things out of the trailer an option?

RE: shopping for a new R.V.

Any tips to improve mileage?
1/2 ton truck pulling a 5000# camper and good fuel mileage do not compute. Same truck for me and comparable trailer and I get 8.3. Up hills, down hills, windy, raining, sunshine, full of water, no water at all, drive fast, drive slow and any day of the week I get 8.3 mpg.
I have accepted it and I like camping even more because I have.

RE: Cargo Carrier on Coachmen CaptiviUltralite

The trailer in the picture above is mine. I posted this picture last summer. I have since welded two (2) 2" square hitch tubes to the frame on both sides of the frame and changed the paper thin 4" bumper to a 4" square tubing bumper welded to the two (2) 2" hitch receivers. My flag pole holder goes in one hitch and my bbq pit goes in the other. I have my cargo tray storedone the bumper and the spare tire also. I have used this setup for 2000 towed miles without incident.
I can post a picture when I get some more time.
