RE: water spots on exterior windows

I couldn't get the spots off my windows. So, I remembered the guy using 0000 steel wool on the house windows to remove hard water stains. Works great. I just used Windex for "lube".

RE: Dallas in August?

Your AC will not be able to keep up. Dallas in August can be 110 plus with high humidity. Think 90 degrees at midnight. You will be absolutely miserable.

RE: Aches National Park

I've looked at staying in Arches. Don't think the OP will be able to wedge 41' Dutchstar and toad into the Park campground. NPS website says max of 30'

RE: Aches National Park

All above are good suggestions from experienced RVers. Be sure to check out RVparkreviews.com for more reviews from fellow RVers. Right now we are at Portal RV resort in Moab. We are staying in the newer section. Huge pull through sites. Nice pool, hot tub, clean showers and great dog park. It is a bit pricey, but you do get what you pay for. Had a bad experience at Archview. Dusty, noisey and they screwed up my reservation twice.

RE: I did something wrong!

I see that you are a senior member that joined in 2009. So, don't take offense at my question. Are you sure that you smelled burning brakes? The reason I ask is that my three previous Jeep Wranglers all smelled like burning brakes after be towed. Scared the dickens out of me the first time years ago. Disipates after a few miles/15 or so minutes. It is a combination of oil, tire rubber, etc. that accumulates on the exhaust when being towed. Good luck. Hope you don't have a major issue.

RE: Towed jeep odometer rolling up miles

My 2012 Rubi doesn't rack up towed miles neither did my 2001 Wrangler with steering wheel lock and the key in the Acc while towing . No key in the 2012 ignition because there is no steering wheel lock.

RE: SnowBirding fo Dummies

When we started snowbirding we used the Interet, this forum and RVparkreviews.com. Between the three, we've been happy.

RE: May trip to Blanding,Ut

One question...why a destination of Blanding? Not much there. We spend at least two weeks a year in Blanding. There is world class canyon hiking with many Anasazi ruins tucked away in alcoves. Cedar Mesa and the The Comb are just spectacular. There is BLM land where you can pick up some nice petrified wood. Don't miss Hovenweep. If you've got a Jeep you can have some serious fun. We always stay at Blue Mountain. Huge sites and nice views. Don't miss going to Bluff 30 miles south. The Twin Rocks Trading post has the most beautiful Navajo baskets you will find in the Four Corners. Twin Rocks Cafe has some of the best fry bread you can eat. Get the Navajo taco or homemade chicken noodle soup. No, there isn't much in Blanding. No resturants worth going to. A very Morman town. No place to to wet you whistle. Edge of Cedars Museum in the only attraction worth seeing, and it is worth the stop in itself.

RE: hwh hydrolic oil

Bingo on the Dexron AFT. When adding make sure to add AFT with the jacks up. If you add while they are down, you will overfill and make a BIG mess. I know from experience.

RE: Question for F150 Ecoboost owners only

Thanks for the responses folks. Since I live at 8200 feet and have to go over a pass any direction to get out of here, guess I'll use premium when towing.

Question for F150 Ecoboost owners only

Just bought a new 2013 F150 Ecoboost. I see that Ford recommends using premium gas when towning. I will tow a 210RS Outback <6000#. What are you doing?

RE: Stone shield

We use a "Protect-A-Tow" guard that protects the both the toad and the tow bar, cable, and wiring. It even helps keep the rear of the coach cleaner. http://12078.net/stuff/towbar_hookup.jpg width=300 Ours looks just like that! I also have the UltraGuard solid rubber flap on the rear of the MH. I think this gives almost complete protection. We took a 7000 mile trip out west last spring and didn't get a single ding! :B x3 Dumb easy to install and detach. Small storage space required. Two years of part timing and not a ding. When we first purchased it, I thought it might not hold up, but I have been proven wrong. There is not much to it and must have a tremendous profit margin. Not like other products where you can find huge discounts by searching the Internet.

RE: Tired of The Same Place

Take a look at Desert Trails in Tucson. It is a 45+ park and its pretty lively. Very friendly, good dog parks, wifi etc. We stayed there for the first time this winter. Will probably return next winter. Also stayed at Canyon Vistas in Gold Canyon for second year. Great place but a totally different experience than Desert Trails. Dog park to die for, no stickers, so so wifi, lots of activities, close to Superstitution Mts for hiking, parties starts about 4 pm lights out by 8 pm. Go to RVparkreviews.com to do some research.

RE: Putting in a Residental Fridge in Monaco

Thanks to wizzo442 who we met this winter in AZ, we've got the itch to convert using a Samsung 197. I recently asked a similar question about converting and was referred to this posting on iRV2. The guy on irv2 also had the furnace under the fridge and has a detailed step by step story of the conversion with many pics. I don't have the furnace under the fridge so my summer project should go off much easier. See the conversion here: http://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/samsung-rf197-installed-in-2006-diplomat-40pdq-102210.html Send wizzo a private message and he can give you informaton of the company that did his conversion. And it is one slick job. I'm going to do my conversion myself this summer since I'm retired and too cheap to pay someone to do what looks like a slam dunk.

RE: How NOT to clean a fantastic fan

We replaced the screwed on screens on our Fantastics with 'pop off' screens. Direct replacement from Fantastic They snap in place and just pop off for cleaning. Also lets you get to the fan blades etc. Here's one place (of many) to get them.......POP-OFF Link Thanks for the fix and link. This was worth getting out of bed for! My screens are dirty, and I've been putting off getting up there to clean them.

RE: WHERE NOT TO DRIVE IN THE ROCKIES WITH A 40 FOOT

I lived in Colorado for 33 years of which 31 were in Estes Park. I've traveled over every mountain pass accessable by passenger car and many only accessable by Jeep or ATV. I totally agree with 4runnerguy. Lauren and I have butted heads over Trail Ridge Road. What he says about it is accurate. The hairpin turns on the west side are the biggest obsticle requiring using a good part of the other lane at the apex. However, I've driven over Trail Ridge Road in my 40' and toad as well as a school bus. Biggest drawback about taking your rig up TRR is that you will be very limited on places to pull out and enjoy the views. Two Hand is also correct about the Million Dollar Highway/Red Mountain Pass. It is doable but not fun for the inexperienced mountain driver in a MH.

RE: Can I rant? Driving stuff...

I feel the pain. Just got back from two months in AZ. People seem to drive 10 under or 10 over the speed limit and there is a state law against the use of turn signals.
