5800+1500+ at least a 1000= 8300x.15=1245lb
Your absolute minmum hitch weight should be 1245 I guess it is no where close to that might even be negative by looking at the axel location on that thing.
You need weight on the hitch or less weight in the garage. Take half that garage wt and put it in the bed of the truck.

I disagree that it will automatically switch to gas.
Mine has three positions AC, LP, and auto.
If it is not in the auto mode it will not automatically switch to gas.
So yours may or may not switch automatically depending on the make and model.

They were mostly screened though to keep the skeeters out.

My 2 cents.
A 38ft 5th wheel is just about the worst thing to start with. Too big, too heavy, too hard to park.
A 28 to 30 ft class A or C is much easier to drive and park.
Sounds like you are fretting over small stuff. I don't care if its an inch off level or straight in the parking spot.
I keep it loaded ready to go. I can be hooked and ready to move in 30minutes or less.
I have owned a 30ft gas A, A 35 ft DP and now a 38ft 5th wheel. The 5th wheel is much harder to deal with than the 35ft diesel with toad.
Last I don't and now or ever have owned a CAMPER. It is an RV I don't camp.
I suspect you are going camping just to be going camping...not fun at all.
Start using the thing as a mobile condo pick someplace you really want to go.
Las Vegas, the outer banks, Don't rush. go and do something anything except sit around some stupid RV park and do nothing.

Why not that's what they are for. Sometimes it is easier to lock it in certain gear rather than have it shifting around. Specially going down hill.

I use a sureflow pump (the same one used in many RV's) as part of my solar powered well system. I have run those pumps all day and pumped thousands of gallons thru them they aren't going to burn out.

The starter is draging on the ring gear. it needs to be shimmed out. If you don't have any shims use some washers on each bolt to move the starter away from the bell housing.

Tires came with it along with lift kit (now removed) and macho rumble exhaust.
And I bet it had been chipped and had the dog snot run out of it. If it is really down on power it is something besides 1 in of tire size.

You have very carefully not told or put in your profile what type of Rv it is. So we gotta guess.
If it it is an older ford or chevy 454 or 460 they were notorious for leaking manifolds.
In the late 90's there were lots of after market manifolds made to correct this.
The 454 came from the factory with no gaskets. One risk of driving it hard is that the leak will burn a trench in the head and that can get expensive to fix.
I had a 454 that would leak when cold but then stop once it got hot.
So take your chances. Easy driving down a gulf highway or across the flats of Kansas might be OK pulling 10 mile grades out west maybe not.
How's that for having to guess?

The lnb needs to get voltage thru the coax cable. check the cable end to make sure it was not damged when the dish blew over. If the coax connector is shorted in any way it ain't gonna work.
