RE: Electric service at Waco Airport Park (Corps of Engineers)

Here is a link to an album of pictures for Airport Park that show campsite numbers. You will have no problem with electric. The 50A sites also have a plug for 30A and 20A. Airport Park pics

RE: Storage Shelter Etiquette

We keep small orange cones in our covered storage slot to help line up when backing in. They just sit on the back wall. One time when returning from a trip one of our neighbors a few slots down was using the cones while they backed in. Embarrassing for them I guess but we both had a good laugh about it. What are the odds of that bit of timing?

RE: RV parks in Cuba. In the future.

"Not hard to come by information if you talk to them personally.Do you have a problem with that?" I see. So you are saying Cubans told you personally they don't want to see over commercialization in Cuba. I think Cuba is a funny actor in some of his roles. He's really good in "Forever". Hope he stays a regular character because he is truly a regular character.

RE: CampGulf/ Topsail?

Pros: The tram runs about every hour and does not take long to get to the beach. Cons: You have to cart all your stuff with you on the tram which can be a hassle. The tram can be crowded, especially in the summer so you may have to wait until it makes a round trip.Parking where the tram starts can be a pain especially in summer months.Once you get to the beach you need to lug all your stuff over a good sized boardwalk to get to the sand. Topsail is a great place though. You might want to consider also going to Gulf State Park near Gulf Shores Alabama. It has everything that Topsail has but you can drive right to the beach and there is a brand new huge pool. All the sites are FHU. If you click on my signature photolink I have an album of pictures for each of these places.

RE: Are there any nice rv parks in Apache Junction, AZ?

Apache Junction is basically flat and dusty. We stayed at Lost Dutchman SP. Beautiful place with excellent hiking. Take a look at my signature photolink and you will find an entire album from Lost Dutchman.

RE: Breathable rugs

Pour club soda on the mounds, about 1/2 a 2 liter bottle. Works in our backyard here in TX.

RE: Report: Buckhorn Campground, Chickasaw NRA, OK

The trees you saw were probably white oaks. They retain their leaves until spring when they are replaced by new green leaves.

RE: Truck Bed Cover

I also have a Pace Edwards Jack Rabbit. It's been on my truck for 11 years. No problems, no leaks. It's perfect.

RE: Self-washing in Nashville area

A truck wash would probably be the best place. I must be lucky in our area in Kansas City, i'm paying $100 a month for an indoor storage unit that is 12x35 with an 11x12 overhead door. Keeps it nice and clean and out of the elements. That is a STEAL! :) Nashville is a great town, but "proud" of its storage facilities (mini, outdoor, whatever storage - it's a premium!) We are buying a house in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. There is a storage place within 5 miles of the house that has fully enclosed spaces that are 15' x 45' with electric for just under $100/month. I feel like I just found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

RE: Lake Ray Roberts

Take a look at the Isle du Bois area of the park. It's very close to Aubrey. Nice park with good campsites. Take a look at my signature PHOTOLINK and you will find an entire album of pictures from the park.

RE: About these City and State Parks in TX and OK

Yeah, I missed Bastrop. The campground is nice enough but the golf course is hard as a rock and all the greens are like overturned saucers. However Pine Forest GC is a 5-10 minute drive away and is a knockout course. Best hole is a 145 yard par 3 where you tee off on a cliff 100' above the green.

RE: About these City and State Parks in TX and OK

Texas: Lady Bird Johnson RV Park in Fredericksburg The RV park is OK depending on your campsite. You do not want one of the back to back ones that are in the middle. The golf course is excellent and is a 2 minute drive from the RV park. Llano River RV Park (city park) in Llano San Saba River RV Park (city park) in San Saba Stephen F Austin SP in San Felipe SFA SP campground is shady and very easy to maneuver around in. Nice hiking trails. The golf course is usually in average condition for a state park course but is especially pretty in the spring. OK: Lake Murray State Resort Pk in Ardmore (Lake Texoma) One of the best I've been to regarding the campground. Try to get into Elephant Rock because it's full hookup and a very short drive to the course. The golf course is outstanding. Lots of elevation changes and interesting water hazards. Hardly ever crowded Lake Texoma State Resort Pk in Kingston The campground is nothing special and the golf course at the park has closed, however just down the road is Chickasaw Pointe that is a terrific course but pricy. I'm mostly wondering if the parks are nice, roomy, scenic, whatever. If you have info on the golf, I'd like to hear that too. Thanks. If you check my signature photolink I'm pretty sure I have photo albums of the places I mentioned.

RE: Do you RV without your significant other?

A few times a year I go on a golf RV trip for 4-5 days with about 15 of my friends. No wives, no girlfriends, no kids. However, dogs are fine. :) My wife thinks it's great to get away every so often to recharge your batteries. Nothing like time with friends to tell lies, eat like pigs, drink a bit too much and play golf all day.

RE: ? "Equalizing" Tanks?

I would think if you equalize levels in the black tank and the grey tank you will soon have two black tanks which would not be very healthy when you expect the grey tank to wash out hoses at the dump station. Grey tank full? Use the campground facilities for showers or control the way you take showers to minimize water usage.

RE: What's the worst storm you have been in while camping?

We were camped at Fort Parker SP in Texas when a tornado came ripping across the lake toward the campground. Luckily it missed our camping loop but it tore through the primitive loop about 1/4 mile away. Check out these pictures. Fort Parker tornado pics

RE: CG Rules - New Trends?

When I was 14 y/o (1975) I had a young friend die from a bike accident. A helmet would have kept him from any serious injusry. If I had a CG I would employ a helmet rule and in this state it's the law. It is not a state law in Washington to wear a bicycle helmet.
