RE: Deposit fee for dogs

Call the RV park and ask them what the deposit is for. Then post something here about it. Why guess?

RE: hitch mounted bike rack?

I already had a hitch on the 5th so this worked very well. Swagman I have had this rack for several years on the back of my trailer and it works terrific. Very solid attachment to the hitch receiver and the bikes can be locked to the rack using a cable lock. I also have Velcro straps I put through the wheels to the rack and on the back of the bike to the ladder. Never had a problem.

RE: Broken Bow OK Camping

Here is a link to a pile of pictures we took a short while ago at Beavers Bend SP when we were there with a bunch of friends. Also, we drove through Hochatown SP and thought Beavers Bend was much better. Beavers Bend pics

RE: Trailer Villae Grand Canyon

If you take a look at my signature photolink you will find a full album of Grand Canyon pictures, especially a lot taken of Trailer Village. We thought it was just fine for our 5th wheel, easy in, easy out. Great convenience with the park bus stopping right outside the campground.

RE: Need advice on 2nd Air

When we bought our 5th wheel we had a second 15K A/C put in the bedroom which is ducted throughout the trailer. Best decision we've ever made. When it gets up to 105° outside down here in Texas, our trailer can easily be in the low 70's without much effort. We only run one A/C if we have 30A service.

RE: A request for cigarette smokers

Tell your wife to go inside. That should stop any problem that she has.

RE: Rude RV Park Manager

Go on Google Maps and enter the VIP Resort's address. You can then go to either an overhead view or street view of the park and see exactly what the place looks like. Doesn't look like much of a storage lot, just a gravel parking space with no electric.

RE: Palo Dura RV Park

The RV park you are talking about is right off the interstate near the road that goes into Canyon TX. Not an appealing place. Stay in the state park, it's worth the extra effort. The bathhouses are in good condition. Check out my signature photolink. I have an entire album of about 100 pics of Palo Duro Canyon SP.

RE: Rancho Sedona RV Park

We liked Rancho Sedona. Close to town, sites were nice and the owners were helpful about things to do and see around town. Click on my signature photolink to see an album about Ranch Sedona. You'll like it there.

RE: Mesa Verde for 1 day...what to see

Bring a pair of binoculars with you. You can stop almost anywhere on the loop roads and see little dwellings tucked away on the far side.

RE: Portable ice maker, inside or out

We use ours outside all the time. These things make ice so fast it is kind of amazing. We empty the icemaker bin into a container that we keep in our fridge's freezer. Works for us.

RE: A peeve of mine.

Considering that it is us... the RV owners... that are piling up the cars behind us, then to other drivers we are the ones that are a PIA. Whether we pull over or not, we have held them up so I could care less if someone waves or blinks their lights.

RE: Leveling boards, what do you carry.

I carry two 2x8x5' boards and one 1x6x4' board. I also carry a few pieces of each that are about a foot long to be able to make a small ramp up if needed.

RE: Would Roof Carpet to Cool RV?

I would remove the existing roof and cover the entire thing with mirrors.

Here's another vote for Nolin Lake SP. We loved it there and it is just a short drive to the cave. Here is a link to a full album of pictures... Nolin Lake SP pics

RE: Fueling up at a truck stop

Someone once told me that in the truck lanes the pump that is closest to the entrance to the attendant has a regular sized nozzle. Don't know if that's really true but maybe someone out that can clarify that.
