RE: Portable ice maker, inside or out

We use ours outside all the time. These things make ice so fast it is kind of amazing. We empty the icemaker bin into a container that we keep in our fridge's freezer. Works for us.

RE: A peeve of mine.

Considering that it is us... the RV owners... that are piling up the cars behind us, then to other drivers we are the ones that are a PIA. Whether we pull over or not, we have held them up so I could care less if someone waves or blinks their lights.

RE: Leveling boards, what do you carry.

I carry two 2x8x5' boards and one 1x6x4' board. I also carry a few pieces of each that are about a foot long to be able to make a small ramp up if needed.

RE: Would Roof Carpet to Cool RV?

I would remove the existing roof and cover the entire thing with mirrors.

RE: Mammoth Cave NP campground

Here's another vote for Nolin Lake SP. We loved it there and it is just a short drive to the cave. Here is a link to a full album of pictures... Nolin Lake SP pics

RE: Fueling up at a truck stop

Someone once told me that in the truck lanes the pump that is closest to the entrance to the attendant has a regular sized nozzle. Don't know if that's really true but maybe someone out that can clarify that.

RE: TIRE TIME!

We have been running G614's for the past 4 years without a problem. I would suggest staying with them. They are pricey but the peace of mind is priceless.

RE: Another negative recommendation of an RV Park

..... I think what upset me the most was the poor reaction to my complaint. "Oh Well!" That's the same as take it or leave it..... I think you may consider the reaction to your post as "poor" due to the fact that you did not understand (or read, apparently) the rules about pay the extra fee for visitors. It is your right to say what you want about a campground where you feel you were treated unfairly but once it is pointed out to you by the campground management, then it is their right to stand by their own policy.

RE: Lake Texoma, Eisenhower State Park

You might also check out Burns Run West just across the border in Oklahoma. That park and Burns Run East are COE parks where you can select a specific site. I have a full album of pictures for the West campground if you look in my Photolink.

Welcome to redneck America

Just as we were pulling out of DeGray Lake SP campground we passed a couple cleaning fish at their site. The guy had a bass hung on the lantern hook and was gutting it onto the ground. The woman had another bass on the picnic table trying to kill it as it flopped around.

RE: Crossing border from Canada to USA

......As I was sitting there in line, I saw an RV owner off to the side while customs officials finished removing everything out of it that wasn't welded down. He was clean, but had to put everything back by himself..... How long were you sitting there that you knew all this?

RE: Zion vs. Bryce campgrounds

We liked Bryce better than Zion. We spent 3 days at each park and did a lot of hiking. Take a look at my signature photolink for albums of each place. Hiking down in the bottom of Bryce is just unbelievable with all the formations.

RE: Candles in RV?

I have a framed picture of a burning candle that I sit on the dinette table. I thought that was safe until someone told me I could break the glass in the frame and possible cut my hand. So to avoid that I now wear leather gloves while I am in the RV.

RE: Pickup bed step

We use this from Bully: Side step One on each side of the truck. Works great.
