RE: North Carolina natives

I am an expatriate from NJ, in NC by choice (since 2001). After 9/11/01 I wanted out of NJ (across the Hudson from NYC). I consider myself a North Carolinian, as I graduated from the best University on the planet! I now live in the mountains near Asheville and love every minute of it.
This is TRULY God's country!:B

RE: Direc tv antenna

Hi Everyone,
RE: This Topic
What type of coax cable do I need to hook up my DTV slimline dish with an HD receiver?
Also, my slimline has 4 cable hookups because it used to be hooked up to the house where the DTV was in 3 rooms.
First, is the 4th cable to get the service into the house and the other 3, to go to the three rooms?
Second, how do I know which one is the "main cable" and which one to hook the receiver to?
Thanks for the help.

RE: travel to cherokee

I've pulled my 30 ft TT up Saluda Mountain a few times and had no problems. The only time there was a problem was once it was very windy and I felt like I was wrestling with the TT coming up the hill. I just stayed in the truck lane.

RE: I got me a Honda scooter today.

I bought my scooter in 2006 (a 2005 Honda Elite 80). This is what it looked like on the lot:

Here it is after I finished it as my summer project:

RE: Tongue Jack Problem

Thanks everyone, while I am going to get the electric jack, I am still curious about the workings of the manual jack (I guess it's my need to know habit, lol) and fixing it. I will go overf to the storage place over the weekend and tinker with it to see what I can figure out. Thanks for all the responses, you guys are very helpful.

RE: Tongue Jack Problem

If the crank comes out it might just be the roll pin and that would only cost you pennies.
Where would I find a roll pin and how would I install it? If that will help until i get the electric jack, even better.

RE: Tongue Jack Problem

Thanks Skip. I kind of figured it had something to do with the shaft, since the entire handle comes out. I was leaning towards the new electric jack anyway. Hopefully Santa will leave me the new jack in my stocking :B .

Tongue Jack Problem

I hope someone can help. Today, I moved my travel trailer from my brother's yard to a storage area near my home (I live an hour from him). When we hooked up at his house, we had no problem lowering the manual jack. When I arrived at the storage area, the hand crank would not work. Seems like a pin or something is missing (but I really can not tell since I really didn't pay close attention to how it was constructed), but it simply turns and turns and it will not lower the jack. We had to stack planks and a brick in order to unhitch our tow vehicle. Has anyone had this problem? I'm not sure what to do. I was planning on purchasing an electric tongue jack, but not until next spring. I am not planning a trip until April, but I want to address this issue now. Thanks for any suggestions.

RE: Water Heater Woes

Okay, I am going to share my silly water heater problem. We finally took our first camping trip last week over the Thanksgiving holiday. We camped at a military campground. All was cool until we could not fill the hot water heater, nor keep the pilot lit. The upside is that my sister, who camped next to us, had hot water so we could shower.
We had no hot water the entire trip. When we returned home, parked, and unhitched, we were mapping out how to get the hot water heater checked out when my mom, on a hunch, began snooping around under the stove. AAAAAAGHHH she found the OFF/ON switch for the hot water heater. Yep. That was all it took. We felt really silly. :S
The good thing was that was the worst part of the trip. I did learn quite a bit.
