Selling our TH advice

We have decided to sell our Toy Hauler and I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions regarding an appropriate website to list it on. Thanks in advance...

RE: Any experience with the Jayco Seismic out there?

Love our 2012 Jayco Recon 39A. The half-bath in the garage is perfect. Great quality and product and love the 2 year warranty! Only one minor downside: the dedicated one of the 30 gal gray tanks to the clothes washer/dryer...that we don't have! My simple work-around is a valve at the end of the main drain pipe and pull both grey valves to take advantage of the full 60 gallon capacity.

RE: Propane or gas genset?

Krenek RV in Coloma Mich says they order most of their toy haulers without gensets unless it's the 40 plus ft haulers. He said most people don't want to pay the higher cost of getting one from the factory, they would just buy after market and use it. Didn't make much sense to me but that's what he told me. Thus the ques asked. Find a new dealer! PM me and I can give you the name of a great dealer in Southern Illinois. Her prices cannot be beat! So much so that I drive from So. FL to deal with her. Bought two trailers from her so far. Plus, nobody can come close to their work ethic! (BTW, I just made a stop up there this past July to have them install a 5500 Onan gas. I was stupid and didn't order it when we ordered the TH. My after market price was WAY lower than then numbers your getting.

RE: Camping without the camper. - UPDATE

Sounds like a fun time...and a good "once-in-a-while" change. Thank you for wrapping it up with your summary. That is a nice touch that not many here do! If you want a good "'once-in-a-while' change," just leave the satellite dish at home and rough it with over-the-air TV! :B

RE: Axle issue. 3-axle.

Sounds like it could be a missalignment issue. Do the front axle tires show any signed of wear? Your center axle serves as a pivot and your front and rear will definitely scuff across the road surface. One thing I read as I was considering a TH was to take turns extremely slow. I watch in amazement the bend and flex in my axles as I make tight turns. I swear the bead is going to give! Our TH is nearly a year old with about 6500-7000 miles of travel and all of the tires seem to wearing evenly.

RE: Opinions on Keystone Tail Gator Toy Haulers

I had nothing but problems with my Keystone! We are on our second Jayco (upgraded from Eagle 5er to Recon TH) and have not had one issue. Keystone is one of the most popular brands simply because of their low entry price. The constuction will be noticibly different from other brands. Of course, everyone will tell a different story. One thing to remember is that 2005 is well past warranty. When things start to fail, it's a little pricey to repair

RE: Sway ball for kid's toy tractor & trailer, need advice

Are you able to drill out the hole on the trailer so it fits over the sway ball? If so, just drill a small hole in the sway ball to fit a kotter pin (the size of one for a hitch pin), drop the trailer over the ball, and slide the pin through. That should stop the trailer from popping up off the ball. Or, you might be able to find a large enough pin to slide around the neck of the ball so you don't have to drill through the ball. In the meantime, I'll dig around me garage and see what I have laying around. I have an 11 year old who is always looking to build something and a wife who says I never throw stuff out! Who knows what may turn up!

FL to ME: Clearance issues???

We're heading up the east coast to Pemaquid Point, Maine and are in need of any clearance/road issues along I-95. In our past travels to West Point, we would exit I-95 in Fredericksburg, VA and take 81 coming in on the west side in order to avoid DC. This trip, we intend to take 95 all the way north. I need at least 13'9" clearance and will be towing a 43' 5er TH. Are there any clearance or road issues I need to concern myself with? Any alternate routes to suggest? Thanks in advance for your input! Happy trails to ALL! DZ

RE: It happened again!

I have a 22k Reese hitch, this is how I hook up. I always make sure the trailer is a bit lower than the fifth wheel so when I back up the trailer actually lifts a bit onto the fifth wheel and I can see the handle move out then in. I get out of the truck to make sure the jaws are wrapped around the king pin. Sometimes I do a pull test to make sure it's locked but not always & so far knock on wood I haven't had any issues. I actually just read that in the owners manual about having trailer lower and "forcing" it (plate) under. I've never done that but will from now on. I also wasnt aware you could have the jaws closed - handle in, when you hoked it up. I will also look into that. Thanks Old Style: If you have a Reese 20k, you cannot leave the jaws closed when hooking up. You should have a single hook that wraps around the pin when connected. Because of this, you have to have the hook open, lever pulled out. When you hook up, the lever will set and you should be able to see a hole through the safety tab. If you can put the pin/padlock through, you're hitched correctly.
