RE: Endeavor Launch - STS-130

Buy tickets to get into the visitor center and ask for a parking pass. The visitor center will be open even if the launch is late at night or early in the morning. We have seen 5 launches over the years and try not to miss any, they are always different. We will be in the visitor parking lot in Feb. There is a Wal-mart and a Cracker Barrel not to far North on rt95 you can stay at.

RE: SHUTTLE LAUNCH

Order tckets for the visitor center with a car or Rv pass. You go go into the visitor center and listen to an astrounat explain all about the launsh. You can watch on a large screen tv, until it clears the trees. I will be there in Feb in my MH.

RE: Beginner Fender Benders

I agree you need a spotter, I learned that the hard way myself. Do not be afraid to stop and get out and take alook yourself.

RE: Shuttle landing, worth the trip?

Go to the visitor Center, there is plenty of room. We have watched many lanches from there.

RE: Looking for advice on towing a Toad

Check your hitch rating, some are only good for 3500lbs. I would not tow without brakes, they make a big difference in an emergency stop. Try making an emergency stop at 55mph without the jeep, not fun.

RE: 06 breckenridge maual slide outs??????

I owned an 844, Inside the trailer the trim around the slide you have to remove the Wood plugs that cover the screws and remove the screws. Go outside and look under the slide there are bolted brackes. The rubber trim that prevents the rain coming in has to be removed. There are different ones that go in there place for travel or storage with slides in. It will take at least 2 people to lift up and push them in. They have to be raised a couple inches to slide in. Nail slides to floor to keep them sliding out when making a turn. "Check my Sig"

RE: Towbar stuck in receiver

I sold my truck with mine still stuck in. Puting them in and out once in awhile is a good thing. I learned that from and outboard motor propeller. Its good to take it off aleast once a year.

RE: Nascar races

I have been to the Michagen Race once, and several times to NH. Dry camped in Michagen across from the track in a large backyard for $100 for the weekend. In NH it cost $100 to stay all week. NH is very well policed all night long. Water truck comes around and pump out truck. Pump out was $30 Water was expensive $1.50 gal.

RE: Leaving your home in your Class A

If you have a hot water furnace, I would not turn off the water to the whole house. I do, so I installed a water line just for the furnace then 2 valves to shut off all other water and 2 low point drains to drain the whole house. I keep the house temp at 50 degrees. I also have a temp monitor that I can call to know the house temp is ok. There is no charge for the call, because it rings busy if themp is to low, and just rings if ok. I bought it from Harbor Frieght or northern tool. I believe they have them now that will call you if temp drops below a certain temp.

RE: Emergency road service GoodSam or AAA????

I was 750 miles from home and needed a tow. GS arrived after 3 hrs and made all the arrangments. We went to an area motel. The next morning the garage said they knew nothing about it, they were closed the day before, a Sun. Called GS they towed it again, where it could be fixed. The 2 tows cost me nothing, but an extra night in a motel.

RE: Is New England too congested for a Class C motorhome?

It sounds as though you will not be towing a toad. I live in ct and there is plenty of room at either of the casino's. I would look for campgrounds that have tours, or transportation into the cities, from the campground.

RE: Herkimer Diamond mine KOA

Great Campground, enclosed dog area, nice playgrounds for kids. You will have a hard time not finding a diamond. They are not real diamonds. 10 miles away there is a boat ride down the Erie Canel, through a 20ft drop lock. It would have to be beautiful this time of year.

RE: Electrict cord

I have heard some people use a 30amp, extension when it is cold. Would be ok if you can get along on 30amp.

RE: Alpine Lake Corinth, NY

We were at Alpine Lake RV Resort a couple weeks ago. We were given a site in the second row off the lake, they moved us because of mud and there had not been much rain. We were moved to the area near the swimming in the pond. We looked out at the snack bar. The site was dirty with cig butts and trash. The seasonal neigbhor kept his canoe on my site.

RE: Anyone waiting for shuttle launch?

I have seen 4 launchs over the years, day night and sunset. The sunset was the best, it is a great site and feeling, do not miss out. We took MH right into the visitor center.
