RE: Iowa Bill Aimed at RV Registration Fee Evasion
The next time your out and about in your town and have nothing better to do, drive by the local establisments that rent U-Haul trucks, or Penske, drive by any car rental lot, especially the airport lots where they park hundreds of cars, drive thru the trucking terminals in your area and look at the license plates on these vehicles, they are from every state that has lienient tax laws, and they are not just parked there for the day, these vehicles are there for months and sometimes years at a time. Nobody seems to be complaining about these company's, and their so called tax evasion methods. There are thousands more of these vehicles on the road at any given time than some RV that many people worked all there adult life saving to some day afford to own. So what if it has a Montana or Iowa or any other state license plate that has a fair and equal way of taxing a recreational vehicle. Especialy if you live in a state that have some of the most outrageous taxing rates on RV's in the country. But than the RV people don't have a big lobbying group greasing the self righteous politicians so they leave these companys alone. So who do they go after, RV people. Don't hear anybody whining about that.
RE: not a cover...want a carport!
We shopped for months for metal RV port, drove all over looking at them, finaly found what I wanted on the internet, I bought a 45'L X 18'W X 15'H from a company callled American steel carports, I live in N/W Indiana,3 guys from Ohio, showed up one morning about 8:30 AM, had the port on a special built trailer. Had it built and were loaded up to go home by 12:30 PM. My neighbor and I sat in the lawn chairs and watched the show, it was something to see. It is strong, first class materials, built very well and it has been up for about 5 yrs now with no isssues at all.
RE: Keeping small dogs out from under the TT
We have been using a 2' dog pen for several years for our two Cavaliers, twice last season (2012), we where asked to take it down as we were told that it was in the campground rules there use is prohibited. When I asked why, I was told they were not considered aestheticly pleasing. I told my wife we were picking campgrounds that are not very pleasing to me either. They both had ("Resort") in the name of the campground.
RE: Flushing Cottenel Wipes
On two seperate occasions I have had to dismantle my macerator pump because of thoes flushable wipes, believe me ther are better ways to spend your time. Thoes things are not allowed in my M/H anymore.
RE: Electric blankets, heating pads and generators don't mix!
I don't know if I have a MSW inverter, a PSW, a modified sine wave or a true sine wave, or a rogue wave. Or if the generator is causing it, or the shore power, this coach has had three sperate electrial systems instlled by the factory, and I still have electrical problems with it every time I take it out. I did solve the electric blanket problem after frying three of them, first thing we do in the morning is unplug the blankets, and since then have not had a problem. We never run the inverter with the blankets pluged in. In fact we rarely ever run it for anything.
RE: Gatlinburg TN & Pigeon Forge
Over the years we have tried over a dozen different campgrounds in the area, Pine Mountain has my vote as one of the best, handy to everything, and besides it's close to Krispy Kreme donuts.
