RE: Entry Door

In the old days, it was just an ugly black rubber strip that never faded but often cracked. Isn't progress great ?

RE: Cement slab help

When you order the concrete, be sure to let the redi-mix company know the weight of the trailer that you intend to park there. Modern concrete comes in several different formulations. Some have inbedded fiber which better supports weight without cracking.

RE: California Road Trip

Any trip on highway 1 in an RV is better when driven from south to north. That puts you on the inside and not the ocean side. If you decide to take highway 17 over to Santa Cruz, avoid doing it on weekends or during commute hours. In the summer, it is a parking lot on weekend mornings, goings southbound

RE: Pull Test ?

The important thing is to watch the trailer and see if it moves the same few inches, when the TV moves the first few inches. If both are moving, you're probably hitched. If the TV moves and the trailer doesn't, you're not hitched.

RE: Electric brakes settings

The OPs 2012 Dodge factory brake controller should have a high and low range selection,. Without knowing the weight of his trailer, it is impossible to give him a setting guesstimate or even which range to select.

RE: Michigan Campgrounds...

Waterloo State Recreation Area is the largest state park in the lower peninsula. It is located on the eastern edge of Jackson County, only several miles north of I-94. There are several lakes and at least 5 campgrounds within the park. Also, a discovery center (nature museum), boat ramps, hiking trails, beaches and a frisbie golf course.

RE: Scooters

We have 2 of those E-zip 750s, shown in the picture above. Bought them from Walmart online. EDIT : They are electric and have a max speed of 15 mph. Recharge with a small plug-in 115VAC charger simular to laptop charger, in 8 hours.

RE: Progressive RV Insurance Scam

An insurance policy or any other contract is not like your daily paper. The words on page 35 of a contract are just as important as the words on page 1. You may learn all you need to know on page 1 of a newspaper but you need to read every page of a contact.

RE: Seems like they all do this

Or is it that people who prefer cloth seats know where they are going and what they are doing.

RE: Taking advantage of the stupid!

Just saw a Jeep commercial for a large dealer in a nearby city. Buy a Jeep, make low monthly payments, Month 75 is a Balloon payment! You gotta be kidding! Most dealers only do it for 24 or 36 months and call it a lease. Banks use to do leases up to 72 months, until they got really burned with people turning in completely trashed cars.

RE: Progressive RV Insurance Scam

If they are items that you also use at home, they could possibly be covered by your home owners or renters policy. But then, you would also need to read that policy to know. :(

RE: Help with gun selection

I recently completed CHL training here in Michigan and was surprised at the number of people firing 22 caliber pistols. I'd feel safer being unarmed than facing a bad guy with only a 22 in my hands. Unarmed, I'm not a threat but with a 22 I'm percieved as a threat but am actually about helpless. I fired my S&W 38 because that's what I intend to carry. EDIT: In Michigan, if you are licensed to carry, you can carry any/all legal concealable firearm.

RE: Anyone know about the Chevy 409 truck engine ?

Kind of ironic that as young-uns most of us had high horsepower, gas guzzling,4 speed cars. Most of us made minimum wage, like what,a $1 or $2 an hour, put gas in the car,hit the soda fountain, fast food places with a date, not to mention the guy at the tire store was always standing outside his store with floor jacks and new tires every time he heard you driving down the road, and still had a few $$ in our pockets. Now we make in an hour what we made in a few days, and we worry about gas mileage. Where did we go wrong? Was buying the camper the straw that did it. Sure can't be the house, wife and kids.:B It was probably that 454 jetboat. :)

RE: Michigan UP Campgrounds

Texas Roadrunner I noticed from a previous thread that your DH is an avid golfer. He should be in golfers heaven here in Michigan. (Not so much in the UP though) We have 1047 courses here in the state. The summer climate and abundance of moisture helps to make them some of the best courses in the country. Within 50 miles of Traverse City there are 33 courses. Grand Traverse Resort and Tree Tops in Gaylord have championship courses that are top rated. If he gets to golfing, you may not make it to the UP.

RE: What would you do...

How do they add leather to a 2007 ? I wouldn't trade a truck whose history I know for an OLDER truch, whose history I don't know.

RE: What's in your tool box?

Definitely duct tape and WD-40. Then apply the following simple rules: 1. If it moves and shouldn't, apply duct tape. 2. If it doesn't move and should, apply WD-40. Forget the toolbox and always camp within walking distance of a Harbor Freight or Sears store.

RE: Oxygenics - complete water shut off or still a trickle

For those with the older models without the water cutoff included, I found this at Home Depot. DANCO Shower On-Off Push-Button Flow Control http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/productImages/300/bf/bfe5f644-0ae6-45fd-8d92-2738521ca0f1_300.jpg X2

RE: Mosquitos!

Rainbow Jungle Formula spray-on insect repelant works great for both mosquitos and black flies. I use to use it at work but have only been able to find it on-line, since retiring.
