RE: Beware of Michelin tires

I see no reason why you should not present your tires to the dealer. He may agree with you and then again he may not. I would abide with his decision.
Good luck.

Is the Landmark rated for fulltiming? I don't think the Big Sky is.

RE: I finally did it!

Looks very good, what size wire did you use and how far did you have to run the wire?

RE: HOT WATER HEATER GAS OR ELECTRIC

For those who have only the switch outside for electric you might consider this. Leave the outside switch on all the time and if you decide to use the propane then cut the hot water heater off with your breaker. Will save you the time of going outside.....have done this for years with no problem.

RE: Won't CW honor sales prices in brochures?

Agree with some of these statements, but I usually price check comparable vendors when I can. Today I had a very pleasant conversation with a tech at our local Camping World. I needed some advice on a project I had going and Stephen was very informative and courteous.
Appreciate that.

RE: Fresh water tank leak

Glen,
Thanks for the comment...I had not considered cutting just a portion of the liner. I have worked underneath when I had a galley tank leak, did not like it.

RE: Fresh water tank leak

My problem is with the fill hose being disconnected partially or having a break in it. I cannot see where the water is coming from. I did put a smaller hose inside the filler hose and put water in it. There were no leaks, I may just live with that rather pull the bottom out and or drop the tank.

Fresh water tank leak

My fresh water tank leaks when I am filling the tank. Stops when I stop the fill. I estimate the loss is about 1/3 of the flow going in. The tank will eventually fill. Looking from bottom I cannot see where the leak is coming from. Does anyone know if the fill hose goes into the top of tank or at the top and end.
Thanks!

RE: Electrical or Air Cond. Problem?

Chuck,
I did check the voltage at the house 120.9...when I was having the problem the fridge was on electric. I switched to gas and nothing changed. I ran the a/c 4 hours today and voltage was 109 to 113 as it should be. I think "imgoin4it" may have the best idea, basically too much draw from the panel.
I am glad all seemed to work as it should today. I do plan on removing the cover on A/C tomorrow and give everything up there a good cleaning.
Thanks!

RE: Electrical or Air Cond. Problem?

Thanks for the comments, I think I see possibilities from each of you. Today I went out and turned the a/c on and all was well...I had 113 volts. I did find this morning the a/c was on low fan rather than high. I have learned from this forum that can cause the a/c to freeze up, however I cannot believe mine froze up as our temp yesterday was well into the ninety's. I let the unit run today for 3 hours and recorded the time and what the volts were each time. Never had a reading lower than 109 and most of the time it was 113. Only other item on was the refrigerator.I am wired into the house panel and am roughly 70 feet from the 5er. Don't recall the gauge wire we used but did take that into consideration at the time of installation. Have always been careful not to have too much electrical going at one time and have not had a problem until yesterday. I am starting to believe the suggestion of my being so far away from the house, I may be overtaxing the system.
Thanks to all....will advise if the unit repeats yesterday.

Electrical or Air Cond. Problem?

Yesterday I decided to do some work on the 5er, having it parked at my residence. When I turned on the a/c the volt meter showed voltage around 105. Turned the a/c off and killed the power to the unit. Then checked the electrical connections for tightness...they were okay. I did discover the "dogbone", 50 amp to 30 amp I was using had one side which had been very hot and the cord felt hot. I replaced the "dogbone" the turned the power and a/c back on. The voltmeter showed 109, the a/c was runnning and sounded great. I stayed there and watched the voltmeter for about 10 minutes and all was well. I left the unit and when I returned, the a/c was barely running and the volt meter was below 100. I turned the a/c off and the voltage jumped back to 119 and what lights were on became much brighter. I am wondering if the problem could be the start capacitor and how does one check it.
Thanks for your thoughts!

RE: Fiver TV - 2002 F-350 Lariat 7.3L Diesel Dually

I have one which I bought new in 2001. The most dependable vehicle I have owned, just do the proper maintenance. Mine has a Hypertek program which has 3 settings with #3 providing the most power. I run mine in #2 all the time and have zero problems. That being said, there are times I wish there was more power while towing in the hills. The engine makes a lot of noise if you compare to the newer Ford trucks. You will need an exhaust brake when traveling in the mountains.
Good luck.

RE: Red Max Pro NO-NO

I had the flaking problem a year ago and removed the old RPM and re-applied. Looked good at the time.....maybe the sun had something to do with the problem.

RE: Red Max Pro NO-NO

I used RPM on my 5er and now after 2 years the front and back caps have a flaky appearance. I washed it and most of the flaky appearance came off. I used a small amount of awesome to take off the rest...it did not work well. Has this happened to anyone and if so what did you use to remove the rest of the flaky area.
Thanks!
