RE: Looking for advice on Aljo Skyline replacement?

drick, twice hard to say. Twice compared to some other units, yes. I just sold my F150 and bought a Jeep, amazed how well they hold their value. Is it worth it? Time will tell, but the reality is that if that is what the market is getting then there must be a reason behind it. I totally agree with soulraider there is no doubt that their amenities or "fluff" isn't as current or hip as some of the new rigs, they are heavy units and I believe they are built a bit better then most. It's been my impression they are not here for the flash but the long term use. Go winter camping and you'll see a bunch of Desert Fox and Artic Fox units out in the woods, and by no means are they new ones but they've been dependable. Now take that all with the knowledge that I've never owned one, just that I've camped with a number of people with them over the years.

What! The last original 2005 Raptor 3612 owners looking to abandon ship? Say it isn't so.

RE: Wheelchair Accessible Toy Haulers

Sorry to hear about the delay. Not sure what to tell you, I would ask the sales guy to give you a call and explain why they are behind. You're going to lose camping most of the summer, how much into the fall do you plan to camp? I ask since if it's going to sit for 5-6 months you will lose that warranty time, might be better to cancel and reorder for delivery next March.

RE: 2012 Dutchman Voltage Review

A detailed pdi shouldn't be a burden placed on the customer.
It shouldn't be but unless you do it you can get stuck with a lemon. I saw my Raptor the day it arrived from Keystone it as a junk yard of stuff they had left behind, wood shavings, extra pieces of carpet, typical stuff you'd see from a contractor before they cleaned up except they didn't clean up. They needed to caulk windows and other areas. Good unit for me but the dealer had to spend a lot of time. I also saw my Winnebago the day it arrived they needed to clean windows and take the plastic off the carpet, it wasn't trashed. Manufacturers can do a better job, but we the consumer have to be willing to pay for it too. Everything costs money at some point.

RE: 2012 Dutchman Voltage Review

The 2-3 week shipping is becoming the norm, nobody stocks parts anymore, it's called "just in time inventory" the problem is that it makes the consumer wait, but the manufacturer and the dealer have to handle the product so takes longer. But saves the RV manufacturer from warehousing parts. Happening everywhere, not just the RV industry.
Sadly, we've seen this countless times when the buyer doesn't do a detailed PDI and trusts the dealer. You are not doing the PDI the hard way. Downloading a check list and doing it at the dealer before you sing the paperwork motivates the dealer to get it fixed or allows you to walk away. You'll know this for your next RV ;)
Hey at least you came back, many of us have seen a lot of one post ranters over the years. :)

RE: Help, fresh water won't fill all the way

I doubt the tank has collapsed. Try filing, waiting a while and filling again, does it take anymore water? Running it back makes the most sense since it's brand new. But first go through and check everything else. Put your problems in writing and when you get it back as for how the problems were addressed to be put in writing so you have documentation, and keep it while the warranty is in tact.

RE: Attaching etrack to floor

For what you are hauling, I wouldn't trust lag bolts. I didn't go all the way through but I had ATVs that the wheels were on top of the e-track, but your Road King won't be and that's a whole lot of weight depending on wood screws. Is there any way to move the track so you don't have to drop the water tank?

RE: Looking for advice on Aljo Skyline replacement?

Few reason you won't find many, they are popular and sell fast, they are not mass produced so they don't flood the market in the first place and their owners hang on to them. Friend of our had one of the big 5ers, they were forced to sell. Priced it fair, they had 3 full prices offers the first week, first guy that looked at it bought it.

RE: Looking for advice on Aljo Skyline replacement?

I'll second the Desert Fox line up. From a quality perspective I think they will match or surpass the Skyline. They are a small, but strong, company based on Oregon and weathered the recession well by pulling back but not giving up. For a while Skyline ceased all Toy Hauler production, I still haven't confirmed they even have Toy Haulers now, their website is horrible for finding things on I've found.

I found a general KZ RV manual online, about page 40-42 there are parts on manual slide retraction that might help you.

RE: Aweing

I used some White Duct Tape on mine slide out awning 4 years ago, still holding. However if I had Awning Repair tape I would have used it.

RE: Short Bed Dually

Also, if you have the powered rear window, it's $$$ if it breaks. You cannot just buy one glass pane. They replace the full window assembly.
Been there done that, dealer tried to tell me they couldn't replace the center sliding glass. Well maybe they can't or won't but the guys at Safelite auto glass did (thankfully)

RE: 2012 Voltage 3905

Welcome to RV.net. I'd encourage you to read the forum, sadly you're not alone with some issues with their Voltage units.
However, most RV warranties are based on time not use. This happens often when a unit is purchased in the fall and may sit, unused, all winter long. If you have documentation from the dealer showing you've been working on the issues that may help you, but if you are just now bringing items up after the warranty you'll be hard pressed to get them to repair it after the warranty expired.
Over my time here on the forums one thing I learned was while under warranty get it in for service and inspection of the problem right away. Provide your dealer a list of problems, in writing, and ask each to be addressed and resolved. Keep your dealers intake paperwork, then make sure they address each issue, showing in writing how it was resolved or if not why not.

RE: Help, 06 desert fox 21sw or 09 Redline? Hyperlite 180FKE

I'd got the DF. The factory is down in La Grande, OR so if you need help they are close by and still in business. The Fleetwood trailer division is out of business. If you get smoking deal on the Redline, go for it. I'd lean to the DF after camping with several friends with them I think they build one of the better, though spartan, toy haulers on the market. It may not be as fancy but it works day in and day out.

CIPA used to make some decent slip over mirror extensions, though lately it seems they are not keeping up with the models. You might see if they have ones that fit your rig. Click Here

how's the weather in mid july up there?
Well being raised in Oregon the joke was the rain is warmer. Usually July and August are pretty nice months on the Oregon Coast but it's never a sure thing.

I have come to accept that it's just going to sit nose high This is what air bags are for, they will level out your truck when towing, then deflate when not towing - all level.

RE: Pin Box Options for 1621HD

I'm assuming you've weighed your setup and checked your actual pin weight? If not I'd do that first to make sure your issue isn't with the pin box.
