RE: 2009 Yamaha EF3000 iSE

Sounds like you got a good price on a good inverter, Yamaha and Honda both have a good product. Your 3000 will run the air conditioner.
I am more of a Honda fan so would consider two EU2000i units and running them together when more power required....most nights the single unit is fine.
cjtinkle thanks for the laff....you're funny!

RE: Older vs New 5er

Surprised when you say not many on the lots, that is not the case in western Canada, literally thousands out there both private and on the dealers lots.
What worked for us was used but one year old, still had the little rubber bits on the tires.
Would suggest you don't get in a hurry though, look at as many as you can while you keep a list of what you like and what you don't like. What is costly is to buy and not like it, trade or sell and buy again:)
See sig for our unit, really happy with it.
Get off that fence life is short!!

RE: Northern pod cast and articles

Yes it is Main and 2nd. There is another Starbucks down by the big box area.
It does seem as though main street has managed to survive and thrive.
When I first came here that was the only stoplight in the territory.
Thanks for posting the link to Up Here.

This works, you need 3" water in the bucket and your DH to empty the prize.
The plastic jar spins and is coated with vegetable oil and Peanut Butter.

RE: Help identify my hitch please

Have a look here....is this the one?
http://www.rbwindustries.com/products/UHS-88-15%20Manual.pdf
They are now AL-KO not RBW. You may need to persuade your hitch with a sledge hammer to get it to start to slide back for removal, that is a problem with these, the rails on the truck bed will twist out of true and cause it to bind when sliding the hitch in or out.

Some modern trailer design

This is worth a quick look, check out the pictures.
Maybe a bit too "space age" for me (hard to imagine set up at the lake), but some interesting design ideas. I do like the bathroom layout....

RE: The Sand Box and Water Fountain

Dick,
I have found this forum to be of tremendous value to me, in both my personal and professional life.
There is a continuous stream of interesting and valuable information often backed up with sources and other websites to follow up with.
This comes about only by the efforts of yourself and those others who will take the time out of their day to share when they may have a particularly valuable insight or personal experience or talent in a certain area.
It does not take long to weed out those posts that are not worth the time or have dubious value.
I sincerely thank you, the other moderators, and upper corporate management for the terrific job everyone has done to continue this forum and keeping the bar high!
And if there is one thing that still gets my attention it's "upper management" heh heh! (I'm still working you see!)

RE: MICE Infestation-How to Clean-up?

Robert, I would suggest that you find someone and hire out the cleanup.
Start by looking at auto/RV detailers, they may do it or know someone who will.
Have them remove all cloth furniture and dispose. Have it done by someone who knows.
If you can't afford it, do as Duramax suggests, use good fitting breathing apparatus, disposable coveralls, eye protection, keep dust damp with diluted bleach spray.
Start looking around before you go down, would sure be nice to have it done before you get there.
Sorry for your troubles, what an awful feeling. Look to the future, it will feel good when you get it usable again, and it is doable.:)
Best of luck.

We had the same thing happen, off of warranty, and contacted the Manufacturer anyways.
Read the story here:
Triple E fine service
The new stuff is glued and they now do that at the factory also.
Yes the toilet had to come off.
Good luck, it is a major chore.

RE: RV sales decliine impact Amish workers

I saw a pay stub from a young auto worker (Chrysler) showing $34.00 per hour.I call BS on $34/hr straight time! Max Big 3 assembler rate is around $27.
If that was an average rate including a lot of overtime then perhaps I'll believe it.
This was on CBC TV news last night, here is a print article I found, look halfway down the page:
http://www.caw.ca/assets/pdf/COMMENT.pdf
And here is one of many articles of late about the $76.00 an hour labour cost to Chrysler.
Hourly labour cost
Again this is at Chrysler Canada with CAW.;)

RE: RV sales decliine impact Amish workers

I saw a pay stub from a young auto worker (Chrysler) showing $34.00 per hour.
He worked on the floor. Add in the benfits package including paid vacation and dental package etc etc and it costs the employer $72.00 per hour.
That's $70,720 per year without overtime, and a very generous benefit and pension package.
The argument is they are quite a bit above the non union toyota plants in the same province, and these are the sorts of cuts the company now seeks.
I'm not taking sides here these are the facts from last nights news.:):)

RE: What are folks hauling with their 2500HD 6.0L Gassers ?

4:10 rears with 4x4 in sig truck gave 8mpg average pulling 10,000 lbs. As others have said it will rev up on the hills but you get used to that. Nicest truck I ever owned, we loved it. 20,000 kilometer trip in 06 with it and nothing more than an oil change.
I would say though that 10k pounds is my upper limit for weight with that rig....JMO. :)

RE: Best propane wall heater in 5iver???

Safety Note:
Any fuel burning ventless appliance needs adequate air exchange to replenish Oxygen and remove products of combustion.
Standards require at least a 1 square inch fresh air opening for every 1000 BTUs of propane used by any appliance.
Replacement air (oxygen) is provided best by two vents, one low on an outside wall and the other high on another outside wall.

RE: Frozen in Denver - Close slideouts?

I recommend pulling them in, if ice and snow freeze on top of slide you have to clear before pulling it in, that's not easy if it's real cold.
From my experience it is much warmer with slide in, the seal is better and the slide is not insulated as well as the rest of the unit on my fiver.
I spent a night at 38 below last month, slide in, took a long while to warm up and furnace went steady but eventually was warm in there. Don't plan on doing that again.:):)
