RE: 2011-2012 F450 vs F350 real world MPG with a TC?

My mileage seems to be getting better. I have the 2011 f350 6.7 and I love it. I just did just over 500 miles here in Alaska, most speeds around 60 mph, but lots of hills with the camper 4000 pounds plus loaded and an double axle trailer with 2 quads and some extra equipment. 11.8 mpg for the entire trip. Did a a trip with just the camper a week a go and got 13.2 for the entire trip. I am not complaining at all, fully loaded I can pull any hill at whatever speed I want. I love the new engine. For years I have said the 7.3 motor was the best, but I am starting to think I may have found something that may change my mind, still would like to see how longevity is. Just my 2 cents.

RE: I was right.....bought a DUALLY :)

10 years ago there wasn't a chance I would buy a dually or even a TC. After riding in a truck as a kid with a truck camper on it that felt like it was going to tip over around every corner, I didn't want one. Now in the last few years I was talked into buying a camper, still didn't want one and the SRW f-250 with airbags hauled the original camper fine but seemed to be a little unstable for my liking. So I was talked into buying a dually and which lead to a new heavier camper with a slide out. Now I could not be happier, love the TC and the dually, can't believe what I was missing, the truck handles like a dream. You can easily forget the camper is on the truck. I really hated dually's, had to drive one in high school for a couple years and hated it. I haven't had any problems with parking and the only thing I don't do now that I did with the srw is go through a drive through. Probably could, just figure it's not that hard to get out and walk in. Dually's aren't for everyone, but for us it has made the TC experience the best it could be.
