RE: Favorite Campground (with WIFI) in Smokey Mountains

With kids... Jellystone for sure. Have never had a problem with WiFi other than the usual campground slowness when everyone is on in the evening. Verizon hasn't been an issue there either.
If in doubt, ask the owners. The Landry family is great

RE: Is it good enough?

Max hitch on the Taco with tow package is 650lbs. Weight distributed or not. That's where I fell into overweight towing my current TT with a Tacoma. This one is 5000 lbs ready to camp with 800 lb tounge weight. It's 28 feet tounge to bumper. One and only local (under 20 mile) trip was enough for me. Sig picture tells the rest of the story.

RE: Shower advice please!

Here is our solution... We've got 2 of those dispensers in each corner. One for the DW and one for the rest of us. The mounting brackets are stuck on with silicone glue so the dispensers can be removed / refilled. IIRC they came from camping world. This is the second TT they have traveled in. The scrubbies are held up with the clear 3m command hooks.

RE: Storage in small bunkhouse & rear slide TTs

In our last trailer we packed clothes in stacking clear plastic bins. One for each of us. They fit perfectly in the one closet with a hanging rod that we wouldn't have otherwise used. The best side effect was that it was easy to pack in the house and have each person responsible for getting thier bin ready to go.

RE: Replaced entire roof, what antenna should I install

If you have all new roof you can eliminate the whole antenna mast and buy sandard roof mount one. This picure shows it installed on my rig from the factory.

RE: I-40 in Knoxville & Nashville

Agree with the others re the I40 in Knoxville. It's good to know that 640 is an option there if necessary. We got stuck on our way home with a closure. Rather than sit, we went around town as soon as we had the opportunity.
Winter hasn't been kind to the right lane East bound between the Cherry Street and Zoo exit though.

RE: New to this, 2013 Navion IQ

The Scion IQ being towed behind the Navion IQ wasn't lost on me. :)
I agree on touching up any questionable spots with a tube of Dicor. Dicor is self leveling for flat surfaces which is why it looks like a blob. That is normal.
OR
That thing is brand new so ask your dealer to take care of it.
BTW... Thanks for your service. My brother is in that sandbox as well.

RE: 411 from Knoxville to Atlanta

Wave as you go through Maryville. Knoxville to Maryville can be busy in the late afternoon. Otherwise it should be a smooth ride.

RE: What are slideout seals called, metal part, not rubber part

Cant see the picture because it is blocked at work. Based on your description it is the facia. I had to replace my top one because it was installed bowed from the factory. Thats how they guy there refered to it.

RE: Any opinion on Trail Cruiser by R Vision

We had a 2009 17C Hybrid before the current TT. You may find http://www.r-visioncamping.org/ usefull. I haven't been over there in a while so I don't know if it is still active.
We simply out grew it and moved up. One thing to be aware of though it shouldn't effect you is that right about that time the company went into bankruptcy so we lost the remaider of our warranty. So r-vision specific parts may be hard to find but most any appliance and part in an RV except the 'Box' would be available from it's respective manufacturer.
I would treat your shopping just like any other used trailer. Look in every nook and cranny for signs of leaks or poor maintence. Ask / verify that the roof has been maintained. Given that it is an 09. If it has original tires, they may need to be replaced.

RE: KOA in Pigeon Forge,Tn

Here is the view from site 18 if that helps.
http://obrien.unitegriefsupport.org/camp/pfkoa/pfkoa18back.JPG width=600
We like this spot for quick weekends away because it is right in the center of everything. Never had an issue with the facilities though it can get busy on the weekends. We also like it because you can get in via Veterans Blvd instead of the stop and go on the Parkway.
We always ask for a spot in the back below the playground. There is very little shade in the front near the main road.
The trolley depot is within walking distance so for 50 cents a ride you can get just about anywhere in town without dealing with the traffic.

Gatlinburg Jellystone though a bit of a drive from the touristy stuff.
KOA in Pigeon Forge or Townsend both have cabins too.

RE: Tire shop in Knoxville area for 19.5 balancing?

I was going to mention fleet tire as well. I've never used them but got quotes for my car. They were professional on the phone. I drive by there everyday and they always have something big like busses and semis getting serviced outside.

RE: Dollywood and Nashville Campground recomendations

KOA in PF is walking distance to the trolley depot that will take you anywhere in town for 50 cents a person / ride. There is also a stop on the dollywood line that picks up at the campground entrance. It's clean and well run though not much more than the playground / pool for little ones. We like this spot when we wan't to be in the center of it all.
For good family activities etc. we like the Gatlinburg Jellystone. It's probably a 25 minute ride to Dollywood though since it is on the other side of Gatlinburg

RE: Alpharetta, GA to Cosby, TN (12 mile east of Gatlinburg)

Continue past Sevierville exit on 40 to the Newport Exit Rt 321. This is the route recommended by the Jellystone folks. It's longer mileage wise for us but worth it to not be in the traffic.
I'm sure you will enjoy yourself. This is one of our favorite campgrounds.

RE: Bed Rails For Bunk House Options

^^ Thats exactly how I did mine. I had to cut the poles shorter with a hacksaw first since they were longer than the bunk.
The bed rail was $5 bucks or so at a yardsale.
