RE: Movies To Add To Camper Collection

Love the redbox site / app. You can search based on your location and reserve the movie you want all online. Then all you have to do is go pick it up. Beats selecting a movie while you stand at the kiosk.

RE: Slotted drill bit adapter for stabilizer jacks

Here is my home-made one. I had an old extra spark plug socket that I cut the slots in with my dremmel tool. Works pretty well for extending / retracting but I still tighten by hand.

I like this. It would make it easier to close up the awning if a quick storm blew through.

Looks just like the Koala 26SS floorplan.
We are happy with our skyline product. For the one significant issue we had, the factory support was excellent.

Memphis for Graceland if you like Elvis
Nashville for the Grand old Opry
Enjoy the GSMNP.

RE: KOA Pigeon Forge, TN

Well since the OP's photo isn't working here's one of mine over Thanksgiving.
http://obrien.unitegriefsupport.org/webclippings/11-24-12/PFKOA21.JPG
We like this place because it is always clean and it's location. With the trolley depot a short walk across the municipal park, we don't have to drive anywhere once were set-up.

RE: Great Smoky Mountains NP area

Tremont or KOA in Townsend have plenty of river frontage and are clean and well run. Durring the busy months though there is quite a bit of tubing traffic during the day.
Misty River in Walland has a significant ammount of water frontage too. I know nothing about fishing though and if it would be a good spot.
There is plenty of opportunities in the park though. A quick google got me these details... http://www.mistyriverrv.com/fishing.html

RE: Campgrounds in Gatlinberg or Pigeon Forge

Sure a search will pull a lot of info in... BUT, we all have different expectations.
For the OP... Do you have kids traveling with you? Ages? Do you guys prefer being in the center of the action or like being in a quieter area and driving into the tourist stuff? Are you a nature family or shows & amusements crew?
Thats the real beauty of this area. There is a little bit of something for everyone. I'm sure all of the recomendations above are good places. Some will be a better fit depending on your needs.

RE: A piece fell off my Gufstream Sun Voyager

Never fails... DW made me throw the extras I had in my drawer away when we cleaned out the garage recently. They were the originals I saved when I did my slide out repair.
Quick google gave me this... clicky...
I know they aren't colored, but it would give you an idea of what terms to search for. I'm sure the manufacturer could get you a replacement too.
Beware the plastic is soft and with a power drill or driver it is very easy to blast the screws through the plastic. (I figured it out the hard way) I'm betting that is how yours eventualy fell off.

RE: Koala Travel Trailers

Factory support has been awesome via email and phone. We had an issue with a leaking slide that my dealer couldn't figure out. 5 minutes on a ladder with a camera and a few conversations later I had the parts I needed to take care of it myself.
We've got 2 seasons under our belts now with no other significant issues. There's also a yahoo group of owners. Just search 'skylinekoala' at yahoo groups.

RE: Smokey Mountains - Day Trip Ideas

They only take cash but this place is within walking distance of the KOA and has much better ice cream than the on site shop.
Burger Master Drive In
Take a drive back here towards Maryville and visit an operating drive in Theater if they are open by that time. Parkway Drive In
Somebody already mentioned the caverns.
Townsend also has a long bike path that follows 321 all the way through town. Cades Cove loop is also closed to vehicle traffic one morning a week too. I can't remember which day but I'm sure it would be easy to figure out.

RE: Leased Vehicle

Its been mentioned already but basicaly you can go to any dealer that would want to buy it or take it on trade.
As long as the sum of the remaining lease payments plus the risidual is less than whatever they offer you are ahead. I realize the lease is paid off already so a CRV with under 1k miles will certainly be worth more than the residual of a 3 year old one with 36k.
We've done the lease turn in once where the the vehicle was worth less than the risidual and let the bank eat that loss. On our last one we traded it because it was worth more than the risidual therefor giving us a larger down payment.

RE: Shopping for a tow vehicle, SUV vs Truck?

Take everybody with you and sit in a few at a few dealers. Use your imagination for where the dog would be. My boys are young and still in forward facing car / seats. Either my wife or I can still sit ( and buckle) comfortably between them. The rear floor is flat too.

RE: Another TT/TV question

Check your tounge weight of whatever you are considering and compare it with the payload (listed inside the Truck's driver's door). If tounge, hitch, occupants and stuff is less than the payload have fun!
Payload is where I got into trouble matching the TT in my sig with a Tacoma. The 17' 3500lb HTT before this was no problem with the Tacoma though.
Does the Frontier have a 'frontal area' restriction in the owner's manual? I can't remember if it was the Frontier or Pathfinder when we were shopping several years ago.
User cpeters here is pretty happy with his Frontier. pics from his site..

RE: NASHVILLE END OF MARCH

We took a day trip out there last Friday and will probably make a weekend out of it this season. Gonna sit back and sponge on the suggestions. I'm very interested in kid friendly stuff as most of what I found online was music clubs / bars.
Opry Mill Mall had a Rainforest Cafe that was neat plus the boys really enjoyed the Lego store. IIRC There is a KOA and Jellystone just a mile or two north of the mall.

I would avoid the weekend near the 4th of July. It will be gridlock. I agree about trying to stay closer though. The drive between Hagerstown and G-burg is kinda dull.
I81 should present no issues for you.
