RE: Desire for more specific CampingWorld shipping information

I've never seen the free shipping policy. When shipping to Canada, it usually costs more for the shipping than it does for whatever you're ordering. Hence, we never order anything. Amazon is definitely cheaper.

RE: Unusual Incident With Honda EU2000 Eco Throttle

My unit does the same thing every now and then. It doesn't seem to matter what is plugged in at the time. High load or low load, it still misbehaves. Yet, if I shut it down and give it a coffee break, away she goes normally. Sometimes it may require a couple of breaks, but eventually it settles down again. I always mean to call the repair place and ask them, but never remember until the next time it happens.

RE: 12 volt coffee makers is the any good reason to own one?

You could try Maxwell House Single Serve coffee bags
Single Coffee Bags
Thanks for the suggestion I assume that they work like Tea bags.
Yes, they work the same as a tea bag.

RE: Had a strange call from "Microsoft"

They got the lady a couple of doors up for us for $300 on her credit card. They also gained access to her computer so that they could "fix the problem with her Windows software." They call us all the time. I've taken to telling them that I have an Apple which doesn't use Windows. That always seems to confuse them. I told the one guy that my abacus wasn't even connected to the internet. For some reason he hung up on me before even offering to help me out!!!!

RE: Spin off: take LCD TV off wall when traveling?

Even on the backroads, we leave ours up. We just tuck a pillow behind it.

RE: Has anyone ordered an Arctic Fox from the factory?

I would call Northwood Manufacturing directly. Tell them you already have a fox and are looking to upgrade.
The other thing you can do is contact dealers and ask them to fax or mail you info.
Phone number
Good luck,

RE: Suggestions for trip from Sacramento to Butchart Gardens

There are a lot of wonderful things to see and do on Vancouver Island.
If you are going for just 2 days it is expensive to bring a trailer over but if you have more time it is a beautiful place to explore.
Here is a link to help you plan your trip.

RE: Making Toast

Here are the basic instructions for coffee can toaster
Use a short coffee can with both ends cut off. At the top end, we have criss-crossed a piece of metal coathanger through four holes punched around the rim of the can. Light the burner on the stove, set the can over it, put a slice of bread on top and about ten seconds later, you have a slice of toast!!

RE: Making Toast

We have a toaster that is made from large coffee can and coat hanger.
Works way better than the little stand up toasters.
I will try to find instructions and post them.

RE: Theme decorations for travel trailer

The dollar stores often have stuff that will work for that theme.
Remember to take pictures and post them so we can see the final outcome.
Have fun!

RE: Non HD sat dish with a HD TV?

An HD dish with an HD tv. No problem. A non HD dish with an HD tv will also work, but you won't have an HD picture.

RE: Nub question

Welcome to the forum. The pump will work on battery power. Your water heater is most likely propane fired and won't need battery power except when it ignites.

RE: OMG! We Done Went Out And Bought One!

We bought a journal to record our journeys.
It is neat to look back and read the posts from all the trips we have taken.
We even count when we have extra guests and they "camp" in the driveway.
This way it is easy to know how many nights the trailer has been used.
Enjoy your new trailer and happy camping,

RE: Fishing Books

Go to your local library and see if they can bring them in from other libraries. They may also have other books of interest.

The ones in my 07 Duramax lasted just over five years. The cold winters here don't help.

RE: Unhook at the campground?

It depends on where we are and what our plans are. If we're staying somewhere and touring around, we unhook. If we're staying someplace just for the night we just find the most level spot we can and stay hooked up. If we're out boondocking for a few nights, we often leave the truck and trailer together too. Why unhook if we don't have to? If we're settling in for a few nights, I do put the tongue jack down to take some of the weight off of the truck. As for the help being needed, it gets easier with time. I actually find it quicker and less stressful hooking the units up without the DW. The GOAL method works for me. I Get Out And Look a lot. JMHO

RE: What Batteries Should I Buy, 2 12-Volt or 2 6-volt DC?

be careful with the honda 1000. Depending on the converter and how far down the battery is , you stand a good chance of it tripping the overload on the honda 1000. The honda is really a 900VA generator, and many of the converters in the 45A or higher range will draw 1000+VA. folks have had mixed luck with the honda 1000 for this use. Nice generator, but may force a user to kick a PD out of boost mode and make for a pretty long charge time. Honda 2000, while more expensive is IMHO a much better alternative.
The only time we've kicked the breaker on our Honda 1000 is when someone has tried to fire up the electric water heater. I guess we're running at the limit at times, but for the price we paid for the Honda, I sure can't complain. It's always happily run the 45a charger in our rig.
