RE: Any 5th wheel hitch operate exactly like a semi 5th wheel?

pilots use a checklist before they fly.
I recommend that an rv'r use one too.
1. pin on hitch installed.
2. breakaway cable installed.
3. trailer lights connected and checked
4. .........

RE: Voltage AC drip from Return air duct

my 2011 did that - the coil on the roof was full of sawdust and the condensate drain hole was plugged up as well.
get up there, pull the cover off and clean it.

RE: nice campground near Marion or Fairmount Indiana?

I always stay at Timberline campground in Anderson. http://www.timberlinecampground.com/ It is just east of Indianapolis and about 2 miles off of I-69
Big negative on this place....the owner is a total psycho!
Control freak doesn't even start to describe him....I go to a campground to relax, not to be herded over by someone who thinks he is king of his little domain.
We fulltime and have never encountered such a toad of a campground owner.
Out of level, muddy sites, with really narrow roads and did I mention the owner is a nut-job?

RE: Locked power box at campground

There is a city park in Burnet Texas that locks the boxes - twice I've tried to come in on a Sunday when they were closed and there was no way to pay or call to get hooked up with power.
So I went to the park down the street.....I would have gladly paid the next day as I usually do if the office is closed when I arrive.
My two visits were a year apart and I had forgotten about the silly locks. The second time I was planning on staying for three days, but it was a last minute deal, so I wasn't able to call when they were open.
Just seems like a pain in the butt and potential lost revenue.

we do it -- piece of cake!
the garage is usually my office, but it also houses the Polaris Ranger when we need it.

RE: RV Direct Fine Print

This is the part that I have heartburn over. Everybody is talking about deposits. What about the whole price? Looks to me like they want full payment before you even get a chance to inspect the rig.
" (4) Final payment via cash or financing is due when unit comes off production line."
Barney
Totally not interested once I read this part.
If a cashier's check is good enough for a title company, it's good enough for your little dinky operation........
That's becuase they're holding the title and allow the check to clear....
wow.
do you even know what a title company is?

It's also printed on some little cards that I hand to most people I meet. I actually paid someone to print those little cards.
I can't think when I've been around a more paranoid group of people.

RE: Carrying a ladder with the RV. What's the best one to get?

We use a Werner 17 foot, multi-position, folding ladder...when folded fits behind hitch in truck. Last thing I want to look at out the back window is another ladder. In addition, it's the most stable ladder we ever owned.
This is the correct answer.
As someone who climbs a ladder every day of his life, I can tell you that the "expandable" ladders are better referred to as "collapsible" because that is exactly what they will do -- collapse, with you on them.
There are however, brands that are better than others, but I don't climb anything marked generic like the one in your link.
Save money somewhere else - a cheap ladder probably won't kill you, but it can make you wish you were dead.

RE: 2014 Voltage?

After buying two of these, I can tell you that the only way to know for sure what will be on it is to look and see when it is delivered. :)
My 2013 has a partial upgrade of some of those features, and it was built in June of last year.

RE: Dutchmen Voltage

thanks for reminding me "atfulldraw"!
29. to the list. Wasn't getting heat to the rear registers, so I too removed the black panel to find the cheap ducting that was already starting to tear, was totally crushed betwwen the furnace and the aluminum floor cross bracing right above it....
I have a two-beer fix for it, it involves some aluminum flexible ducting, transitions, foil tape.
The flexible dryer vent they use gets brittle and cracks loose.
Total cost is approximately 17 bucks, including the beers. :B
