RE: Finally!!!!! New Class A!!!!!

Along with the other advice, I'd add that in my rig, there are two switches. One on the dash, and one by the door. I can set it up so that my steps won't extend when I open the door. You may have the same setup, but it's confusing where to set which switch so I won't try to mislead you. What I usually do is just press the main battery disconnect switch over the door and the steps stay closed. Jim, Have you ever forgotten which position the switch is in and walked out the door in a hurry or in the dark.......and no step?

RE: Comming To Your Wallet Soon

Please quote the section of the ACA you are referencing. I do not believe you know what you are talking about. Re the 1% transaction TAX (not fee): If you read the "unaffordable health act" passed by our wonderful Congress, (haven't found one peron yet) you'll find that any transaction made with a bank will incur a 1% TAX. That includes depositing money, cashing checks withdrawing funds and any other type exchange. How soon will that change to 2%, then 3%....... Just another tax. Cheers! It must true....it was on the internet! Right? Yours Truly, "The French Model":R

RE: Idle speed

My 400ISL has dropped down on the idle speed (550-600 rpm) which causes it to lope. When I'm parked, I hit the idle up so that is not the problem. When stopped at a light or whatever, it bothers me. I understand there is a simple way to increase idle speed. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance. I believe your TS has a Smartwheel. With the engine running and in neutral with the cruise control off, press the set or resume button once. I can't remember which is which, but one reduces the idle about 25 rpm and the other increases it 25. Press the correct button until you are happy with the rpm. Most diesels are happy around 700 rpm. This speed will be your new idle speed. Steve, I think you also have to turn the cruise control back on to get the idle speed to "set" and stay. This is the last thing you do after having it off and increasing or decreasing with the set/resume buttons. I will take a look at the smart wheel manual to be sure.

RE: OOOP's Brush fell in black Tank

Go to walmart and get a "snatch treble hook" in the fishing department. It should have some lead weight wrapped in the center. If you have a straight shot from your toilet to the tank, tie some fishing line or fine nylon cord to both the eye of the hook and to one of the "barbs" on the hook. Drop the hook into the hole until it hits bottom, lift it off the bottom about an inch or so and tie it off to the toilet seat. Make sure there is enough water in the tank to cover up the brush that got away. Drive around for a while and the brush will hang up on the hook. Slowly pull on the line tied to the eye of the hook. If the hook gets hung up on anything, then pull on the other line tied to the barb area of the hook and pull the hook out backward. Took longer to write this up than it does to set the hook in place.

RE: Owners Manual or Mfg Info Sheet

Here is a Monaco specific website where Monaco owners can help you out. I have the HWH system in my 05 dynasty and the owners manual is in agreement with HWH recommendations. HWH does market a hydraulic fluid that is clear and does not have the red dye in it. This helps if you have a leak on a slide out hose that might be over the carpet. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f115/

RE: fuel tank sender on a Monaco

Centroid is just down the street from me here in Edgewater. The last I talked with them about helping out a friend with a calibration problem, they would not sell out the door but do have an online order form. Let me know if I can help out in any way. Here is a link to that order form and some info on Monaco installations and calibrations. http://www.centroidproducts.com/tableofc.htm

RE: Please help me find an INSIDE rear view mirror.....

If your phone has a camera that can "see" from both sides (front and back), just turn the camera on, reverse the lens view and prop it on the gps or radio lip. Works great.

RE: Lost door lock remote

You need to check your keys. If made by Trimark then the power locks activated by the key fob will be the same. Trimark should be able to replace the remote. Not all coaches have remote activated basement locks. I never thought about it but I have Trimark keys to my bays and entry door but I have the Essex remote keyless entry for both the bays and entry. Here is the actual fob my system (Essex KE-1700) uses. http://keylessentrylocks.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=56_58&products_id=131

RE: dynasty

Dynasty with a tag should not be doing that. Take a look at your ride height on a level surface with it aired up to ride height. Then take a look at your shocks. Check air pressure in each tire. Look carefully underneath for something loose in the steering tie rods. Add a little more pressure to your tag and see if it helps but get it weighed after you do it to make sure you don't put too much pressure on your steer axle. Best best is to stop in Orlando and call Josam's Truck and Frame and make an appointment. They do excellent work. 407-438-7020 Even in some wind Dynasty should not be wandering.

RE: Well its pretty much finalized.

Have the same coach (05 year) and you will love it. Rides like a dream, fit and finish is excellent, easy to maneuver with the lifting tag, plenty of power with the ISL 400 and you will like the fuel mileage for the size and weight. Send me a pm on some details when you get a chance.

RE: Would you take out a warranty on a used RV?

I'm looking to buy my first class A diesel MH. The loan agent who I am financing with offered me a warranty by For 5yrs at 6500,00. It covers just about everything even seals. I'm looking to buy a Class A Motorhome Providence 39S 3-Slide 350hp 13k Miles Fleetwood 2005. Engine: Big Spartan Full Air Chassis, Cat C-7 350hp Diesel Pusher, Allison 6 Speed Automatic Transmission, Engine Brake. From Conejo RV in Thousand Oaks CA Would you pay for the warranty? Do you know anything about this dealer? Tell the dealer you want him to take the coach to a cat and spartan service center for an inspection and make a satisfactory result of the inspection a condition of the contract. Spend some that money up front before you buy especially if you are not mechanically inclined and can't do it yourself. If he balks at an inspection then that's a red flag for me. An 05 with only 13K has been sitting a lot...not necessarily good for an engine and other moving parts but not necessarily bad either if the original owner exercised it on a regular basis. Also, ask for all service records and see what answer you get. Good luck.

RE: RESOLVED Basement heat pump help please--we're in Mexico

Canadian Rainbirds, If you get the stand up portable, you can run both the drain and exhaust hose right through the floor/engine hatch in the bedroom. Just put some visqueen around it and seal it with duct tape. Here is the type I am referring to. Good luck with your repair. http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=202051352&storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&ci_sku=202051352&ci_kw=%7bkeyword%7d&kwd=%7bkeyword%7d&cm_mmc=shopping%2d%5f%2dgoogleads%2d%5f%2dpla%2d%5f%2d202051352&ci_gpa=pla#specifications

RE: RESOLVED Basement heat pump help please--we're in Mexico

Have him pick you up a couple of 8,000 btu portable a/c units if you can't get the compressor. They are very easy to re-sell when you get back to the states.

RE: RESOLVED Basement heat pump help please--we're in Mexico

I see in your profile you have a 2002 Itasca Horizon. Does your unit have the basement air conditioner/heat pump? (I can't see an a/c shroud on the roof in your profile picture) If so, I am guessing that you only have the one a/c unit, correct? Did you try the unit on both A/C and Heat/Furnace setting? It sounds like you are on the right track with the compressor drawing too many amps on startup. Any decent A/C guy can put a meter on it and see what it is drawing on startup. More than likely the compressor is shutting itself down on overload but the fan is continuing to run since it is not throwing the breaker. We are all just guessing at this point, but a guy with a meter can tell you right away what is happening. Good luck and if you can't get it fixed, see if you can find a portable A/C unit anywhere near you.
