RE: Is it possible to rent a tow dolly?

If you plan on leaving Canada you may also have another problem. They may not permit it to leave.
Last year I rented one at a U-Haul location in the US and returned it to a U-Haul location in Canada. The opposite is also true.

RE: Removing old Diamond Shield??

I just removed mine. Here's what I did. I used a regular cloth iron and a very damp rag. I put the wet rag on the shield and apply heat with the iron for about 5 second. Remove the iron and the rag. The shield is now soft and pliable. You will be able to pull the area that you apply heat to. It will leave no resudie at all. The whole process took me a couple hour, and believe me my shield was old rusty and cracked all over.
Good Luck

RE: If you were a Snowbird, where would you stay?

Last winter we spent 4 1/2 months at the Palm Creek RV Resort in Casa Grande AZ. It rained a total of 5 days in the whole winter. It got colder than ususal in January but still warm enough for me. We never been so busy with pickleball, tennis, and hiking.
I guess we were lucky, because we were told by many (even people not residing in the resort) that Palm Creek is among the top two or three best RV resorts in AZ. We are definitively going back there. There is a lot of people coming from BC. For us coming from Quebec it's a long ride (twice as much as going to Florida) but well worth it.
Enjoy your retirement.

Thanks Barth, where did yiu source the light fixtures from?
I used the same fixtures. I had them sprayed with an industrial paint.

RE: who has done a complete renovation

In our 2001 Scepter, I've done the following so far:
I replaced the carpet and ceramic floor with new ceramic in the entrance, Engineered wood floor in the kitchen, Heated ceramic tile in the bathroom, and floating floor in the bedroom.
I replaced the kitchen table with the new legless-style, sliding table which I built myself including the cabinet that attaches to the wall.
I replaced the cloth covering on the sofa and recliner with leather.
I replaced the original cloth covering on the kitchen chairs with a new design.
I replaced all window valences with new ones that I made in solid cherry.
I replaced all the polished brass hardware and light fixtures with the new ORB color (dark brown).
I've added a new medicine cabinet beside the existing one.
I've removed the front TV cabinet and replaced it with a slimmer one that now holds a 32" LED TV.
My next projects are:
Adding sliding trays in the bottom compartments.
Replacing the light bulbs and fluorescents with the new LED ones.
As you can see, I like working on my motorhome. My Scepter doesn't look like a 2001 RV anymore.

RE: Scottsdale, AZ

I agree with you. We spent our winter at the Palm Creek RV resort in Casa Grande. Although it is twice as far going there than Florida, it was well worth the trip. Arizona is the best!

RE: Replacement parts for Velvacmirrors?

The piece that broke is the cast iron base plate. Velvac will sell me the part for $65.
The complete mirror was $1400.
It is a 3 mirrors chrome assembly.

Replacement parts for Velvacmirrors?

Hi,
I hit my Velvac mirror and it broke right between the mirror head and the arm. The piece that broke looks like cast iron or pot metal. On the Velvac site I only saw complete mirror assembly for sale. Pretty pricy.
Can we buy component parts or only the complete mirror?
If not , I'm thinking of insert a hollow metal shaft and fixing it with something like JB Weld metal epoxy.
Has anybody did a similar repair without replacing the whole mirror?
Thank you

RE: Gps for motorhome

I have a Garmin but rarely use it. I much, much prefer running Streets and Trips on a notepad. I find it much more flexible than any portable GPS

Is there any drawback to up a 330 to 350? What about the transmission? Can it handle the extra torque?

RE: Diamond Shield Adhesive

I removed mine this summer. I used a towel soaked in water, applied it to the shield and using a hot cloth iron, I warmed the towel. The shield came off quite easily. You can do pieces that are 6"X6" in one pulling operation.
Good luck!

RE: Bicycle Carrier

I just purchased the Swagman 64664 bike rack. It's mounted right on my BlueOx tow bar. I now can tow my car and bring my 2 bikes along.

Oh....Donn....Now you went and done it. I have to dis-agree. The folks in Nova Scotia (east of Quebec) PEI, Labrador, are great folks too. Same as those west of Quebec.
And also as nice as the ones IN Quebec

RE: DISH Satellites On A PC ?

I use dishpointer.com
You put a pin on the google map where you are located. It will show you the line of sight of the satellite along with all the pointing information you need. It works for all the satellites.

RE: What did you do to your Class A MH today???

I removed the 3M shield on the front of the motorhome. I guess it was installed when the RV was brand new because the paint and clear coat are so nice and shiny!
