RE: Where to stay south of Punta Perula

We were in Tenacatita last year, with our 30' fifth wheel and Zodiac like boat - no problem launching on a quiet day - The bugs are bad right around sundown, so after that, most people are in for the night. Have fun - Bev

RE: Cell Phones in Mexico????

Last year we bought a cell with Movistar - I think it was about $30 - and came with a bunch of free minutes - local and long distance to Canada or USA. There's a catch to the minutes tho, so you have to be careful not to use the phone on local calls - or it uses up your total. The LD rate to North America was 15 cents/minute and you could add more minutes anytime. Not a bad way to go if you don't have Skype or not always accessible to a computer. - Bev

Atwood Thermostat - need help

Does any one know how to adjust the heat anticipation with a basic Atwood Thermostat? The furnace cycles too short - so it never really heats the camper up - and comes on off on off all night (and now we're heading into those cool nights). Any thoughts? Art

RE: Which TC has the easiest bed to climb into?

Definately the basement models - we have a Citation 9'6" - no problemo! No matter what camper you get tho, you're climbing into the bed.

RE: Alberta Forestry Trunk Road and more - with pics

brad - we just came back from our trip on the Forestry Trunk Road - inspired by you - thanks a bunch! We went in at W. of Sundre, and pretty much did the same routing as you seemed to, then headed west at Hinton, and home to Water Valley through the parks. Had a great trip, fantastic weather, beautiful scenery. That's what makes a truck camper so great. Thanks again for the suggestion. Bev

RE: Alberta Forestry Trunk Road and more - with pics

Great pics, Brad. We were planning to do some travelling this week from Calgary - Banff - Jasper and back through the David Thompson - but after seeing your pics - I might be changing my mind and staying on the Forestry Trunk Roads. - Thanks - Bev

RE: Dentist in Melaque/manzanillo

The dentist's name that folks from Tenacatita went to is Shelena Columba Garcia - Melaque. They seemed quite satisfied with her.

RE: Northern Lite - Aluminum Rear Bumper.

Can't help you on that bumper - but thanks a lot for posting it. I have a friend who is going to make me one very similar to that for my Citation camper. If you're interested, I'll let you know how it goes. This guy does amazing work - and I think this picture will give him a good idea of what I'm looking for. Thanks again for posting.

Citation 9'6" - bumper question

We're looking at a 1999 Citation 9'6 camper. It's in excellent condition, but it doesn't have the back bumper that the rest of the Citation/Corsairs have. Does anyone know if it's possible to put one on - I've seen other photos of 1999s that have that back bumper. Thanks - Bev

Alaskan camper - Jacks/parts

I'm looking at restoring a 60's vintage Alaskan (8 ft Non cab over) that has been sitting in the yard for years unused. Can anyone give me some leads on where to find parts (Alberta, B.C., North West States) - specifically jacks - or should I have them custom made. Thanks - Art

2003 Lance 1130 - the right truck?

I pulled off some posts from back in '05 re: the Lance 1130. but would like some updated opinions.
We are looking at a 2003 - but our truck is a FordF350 Diesel Long Box (not a Duelly) with Heavy Duty springs (was a "camper special") Sorry, I don't know all the technical jargon - but was wondering if those who have or know the Lance 1130 could comment on whether this is enough truck, or should we be looking at something lighter. We want to take the camper to Mexico. Thanks. Bev

RVing in Manzanillo

Does anyone have any leads on where we might be able to park our fifth wheel in Manzanillo for a few days? We have heard that some of the beach restaurants north of town (Santiago) might let us park in their lots during the week - that's where we would prefer to be - Santiago area. A parking lot, drive way - vacant lot - ???? Thanks - Bev

RE: Hermosillo Bipass Recent condition

We just were through there a couple of days ago - south from Nogales to Guaymas. We followed the directions in Church's book - they took us through there with no problems at all.
