RE: Am I missing something?

You have already gotten the correct information on the difference between the Atwood and the Suburban tanks. What no one has mentioned is they recommend that any time you remove the plastic plug to replace it with a new on. I feel this may be overdoing it but I always carry a spare as I did have one with a small crack which leaked and when I tried to tighten it it broke in half. Naturally we were over 20 miles from the nearest rv supply store.

RE: LED 'puck' light replacement

thanks for the reply. how do these stay in the fixture? the factory ones have the spring clips which hold them in place.
I think you are referring to the springs that hold the entire fixture in the ceiling. If your puck lights use the G4 halogen bulbs these are a direct replacement and just plug into the same socket. If you turn the glass cover on the fixture it comes off and you can remove the bulb try removing one of your bulbs, just don't touch it with your hands as the oil from your skin will make the bulb burn out quickly. If your bulb is not flat with two pins like THIS post a picture here for us to see what it is. Some puck fixtures have a vertical rather than a horizontal mount.

RE: LED 'puck' light replacement

I replaced just the bulbs in mine with These The only problem I had is that they are polarity dependant so on some of my fixtures I had to reverse the wiring. The connecting pins were a little too long so I had to shorten them but a very easy swap. I ordered mine in warm white.

check on Craig's list; do a search on membership. Often times it is better to search on the state and city near where you would like your home park to be.

RE: private camp parks

ty we are going to there free nites they will try to sell us something are most of ther parks in oregon
All the parks except Neskowin are in Washington. If you take the free camping trip and then want to purchase you are excluded from buying on the used market for what I believe the last time I heard was 2 years. You can purchase used on Craig's list for less than $2K or you can take the free camping and purchase new for about $10k.

RE: Sorta Tangent....... COAST TO COAST

SNIP
WHY ARE THEY SO INTRUSIVE?
Because we let them. Hang up and get on with your life, or tell them to f#$% off and then hang up and get on with your life. If they suck in one person out of a thousand they are still making it worth their while.

RE: private camp parks

Neskowin Creek RV is part of the KM resorts system. Although not members we have stayed at Neskowin Creek several times and also several of the sister campgrounds. I have found them to be neat, clean, and well managed overall. Probably the worst thing I have heard about Neskowin Creek is that they have pretty well oversold the memberships. Due to the close proximity to Portland they are full almost all summer.

RE: Passport America Lifetime, Thanks all, I'll pass

Received the e-mail offering me the $399 lifetime membership. Last time I renewed it was for 3 years at $109. That means that at $399 I paid $36.34 a year. At that rate it will take me roughly 11 years to break even. Who knows if they will be in business in 11 years or that at 79 years of age I will be using it enough to make it worth the money. You have to run the numbers and make your own decision. I passed. As far as Freedom Resorts, I personally can't see buying a membership to get 25% off when there are so many other options that you may already belong to that will get you at least 10% at no extra charge.

RE: ROD 125 mile limit?

From the FAQ on the ROD web site.
"Does Resorts of Distinction have a radius rule?
Yes, there is an optional 100-mile radius rule. What does this mean? A resort will request to “opt-in” and select the resort(s) within 100 miles in which the rule will be implemented."
However; per my contract, if you are a ROD Plus member, you are entitled to up to 3 visits per year of up to 7 nights at resorts that are within a 125 mile radius of your home resort

RE: Hughes Autoformer

If you have a 50 amp RV, spring for the 50 amp autoformer. You can still adapt it down to 30 amp. Trust me 50 amp service can suffer from low voltage on one or both legs also. Better to be safe than sorry. You might want to think about hard wiring it in that way if you get to a park that does not want you using the autoformer it is not sitting out in the open. Also less chance it will grow legs and take a walk.

RE: Length of stay limits with c2c?

c2c parks are allowed to black out all holidays and local events. As a classic member which is what we have; you are allowed to stay up to 7 days in each resort twice a year and must be out of each resort 30 days before returning and out of sister resorts for seven days. Premier membership shortens the time out to 7 days and allows unlimited stays at each resort

RE: Doberman

Dobies get a bad rap. As far as staying in campgrounds you will have problems. I once acquired a half dobie thinking he would be a good watch dog. Naa; all he wanted was to give love and be loved. They are extremely smart and react well to training.

RE: Tucson to Show Low, AZ

You have it pretty well figured out. The only other route anywhere near, is 191 through Morenci and trust me you don't want to take that one. You state you have driven Salt River Canyon so you know the climb and drop. Personally I would be more worried about the drop to the bottom than the climb. Only you know how your rig handles. The route through Payson is almost 100 miles further and you still have lots of up and down. My choice would be to gear down and take 60 through Salt River canyon. Just take it slow and don't worry about any traffic behind you. Wife's family has been trucking through there for years and we have not lost anyone yet.
