Over the last 12 years, I have called Directv many times for assistance and have never spoken to anyone that even sounded like they were from India.

Still not there yet. Plan to leave on 1 July. A couple more questions if you don't mind:
Is it possible/feasible to drive a motorhome up Blue ridge parkway from Asheville Nc to Winchester VA? Any tunnels/obstacles that would prohibit such a drive?
Sounds like most of the scenic features are from Roanoke to winchester, correct?
We may go on to Amish country in Lancaster. PA. Any recommendations there?

I have a King Dome now, but if it ever crashes, I believe I will go with a portable SAT system. More cost effective and useful.

I stopped by a buick dealer today and read the manual myself. Not towable. I wish it was because it is a fine little SUV. I would trade my Honda CRV in a minute.

Anyone confirmed whether the encore is towable? Appears it would be good dinghy if it can be towed four down. Came out after the 2013 towing guide was released.

One other question please: Directv always wants you to get the 5 LNB dish, but in my area, all I see is 3 LNB dishes. Are there some parts of the US where the 5 LNB may be needed if I am travelling to one of those spots?

Direct Tv Setup for RV
I want to upgrade to Directv HD, but dont want to give up my King Dome sat system (or purchase a traveller system). If I get a Slimline dish with HD box for HD, can I still use the SD box and King Dome for non- hd directv access?

As a Directv customer, there are Two things I have experienced, that you might try (may apply to Dish as well):
(1) When connecting portable sat to receiver, make sure the power to receiver and auto antenna are turned off until all connections are made. If power is on when connecting it confuses the system. (2) If you get a signal, but no guide or picture, unplug the power to the receiver for 15 plus seconds and plug back in. System will reset itself. Lastly, if you have signal but no tv, call directv and they will gladly reset your system. I dont know about Dish, but Directv changes system codes every 30 days to avoid signal piracy. If my system has been off over 30 days, I know I will be calling for a reset, but, no problem, takes 2-3 minutes.

Directv does not have "pay as you go plan", but you can suspend your account twice per year, for a total of 6 months max per year. No charge for service.

Directv Sat Antenna LNB's?
Can someone explain why some slimline antennas have 3 lnb's to receive full hd service plus local channels, but if you call directv, they say you must have 5 lnb's.I still see a lot of rvers using older 3 lnb directv dishes out there. Must be working or they would not be used.
