RE: Flipping Shackles

Yep going out of a drive way where front axle gets unloaded and rear is loaded heavy it would snap back in place and vise versa. Would be great if it did work though. Had a boat trailer that would do that on occasion, pain in the rump.

RE: Can I safely remove the fixed bed in my FB3000 WW?

When you say fixed rear bed, i assume it is an older model without the jack knife raise and lowering ability ?

RE: Add-A-Wall Installation - Clear Flaps on Inside or Outside?

Flaps I have are not clear, they are on the inside. I like your theory, if it rains I'd close the ramp anyway. I'd go with that.

RE: Intermittent Onan Problem

Weak transfer switch? Few months ago poped the cover off mine and found a couple lose wires. Almost seems to me when they use wire with few conductors/strands they settle a bit and need to be retightened. Easy to check.

RE: weber q adapter help

I found that i had to use a Weber hose for some reason, kept thinking i was out of propane, turned out the hose I had was the culprit. I, of course replaced the regulator and burner first! Then found out it was just the hose. Start with the easy things! X2 used mine several times with an aftermarket hose. Sometimes good, sometimes not so good. All problems went away after using Weber hose.

RE: Front to rear Porpoising

I would take it to a weight station and find out for sure what your hitch weight is. Sure sounds like it's hitch lite? Dont know how you'd fix that?

Is the jeep in the WW?

RE: To block or not to block...that is the question

I normally wouldn't recommend it, but due to the size and light weight of your rig, I might give a set of blocks a try. Use ALL of the road when you tow and try to stay away from real sharp turns. That's what I'd do. I welded in a box frame on my rig, it's big and heavy though.

RE: running refer on inverter full time

Dont know how often you boondock, It's about 90% of the time for me. Same power draw as your looking at. solar/ice machine Just finshed up this system, very happy with the performance.

RE: Free ice in the desert

We had hauled a portable ice maker around for years in our previous RV's, and when we ordered the new one had them build in a U-line ice maker. I always bought the portable one's from Costco because they would fail at about one a year. The warranty at Costco is very good so just kept replacing them. The built in one is good now after a few years and lots of miles and the 705 watt solar system is more than enough power to keep the ice maker going......the party seems to always end up at our place..... :) Beautiful job on your set-up Rick! This whole process has been an eyeopener for me. I always thought charging the batteries was cool but just not worth the expense for a full on set-up. I even doubted myself while spending the money. My last trip was 5 days, I think that's when it finally sank in. No last trip to the store for ice, no lugging ice chests in and out of the rig. No setting up honda 2k and filling up, pluging in and locking it up. Gen tank was still over 3/4 from last 2 trips. Just unload the toys and push a button. You can read about it, but after you experience it a few times is when you fully appreciate it. Wish I had done it sooner :C

RE: My MPPT-60 settings-any suggestions,comments???

Only issue I've had so far is my inverter goes into over volt protection at 15 volts. Had to lower my bulk to 14.5. With temp comp, and set at 14.7 I hit the shutdown around noon when it's really crankin the juice. I have 400ah of agm batts.

RE: Free ice in the desert

What happens when you run out of water? Maybe that's what people meant when they come over and say, can I borrow some ice. It all makes sense now :B

RE: Free ice in the desert

Craigs list, I payed 180 ;) Should be noted that this is an actual freezer. The $120 units make ice but do not keep it cold. Like the keg-o-rator idea! I'll park next to you anytime. :B
