RE: Ford Explorer for towing

I've calculated needed TV specs as follows: Payload 1980 Trailer wt rating 7600 Tongue weight 1140 The only SUVs that can handle those specs are V10 Excursion and -06 Suburbans. those aren't the specs of the trailer the OP is talking about, if it's the 26RS.

RE: Lights won't come one in my tt with just battery power.

It's the water pump and it is a TT. it always helps if you post year and make/model of RV you have. that's why many of us have ours listed in our signature line. battery disconnect switches are not common on TT's, unless the previous owner installed one.

RE: Still New... :) Inverter generator question

No where to be found. I huess it's 599. Really bites, but it is what it is. One more quick question. I see Champion has a red and yellow that seem identical. But on some I am seeing 2000/1700 watt and others 2000/1600 watt. I also see a Gray Category 5 2000i? Any input on this? Thnx again that's the one Champion makes for Northern Tools. it's the same generator. like i said before, Champion makes a number of different color ones, but it's the same generator.

RE: Extension Mirror for Dodge Caravan

I imagine it will be noticeable, but the weight restriction for towing with the van (according to the users manual) is 3600. that is rated with only a 150lb. driver in the van. any additional passengers or any cargo, lowers that number by its weight. what's the T&C's GCWR?(Gross Combined Weight Rating)

RE: Best park in Sonoma or Napa Valley

Felton is not in sonoma county. It's in Santa Cruz County. Anyway my thoughts for the OP are there aren't any high end parks around the area you're looking. Yep, no Felton in Sonoma or Napa County. just SC County. and you're correct that there are no "high end" parks anywhere near here. i only suggested Napa Valley Expo because of its location, near the river, the Oxbow and the Wine Train, along with the downtown area. and it's an easy drive to Sonoma Valley. and it's the closest thing to a high end RV park in either Napa or Sonoma Valley. notice i didn't say County.

RE: RV.net has a new sister site

RV.COM The "com" is for commercial. This site is RV.NET The "net" is for network. Aren't they two different domains? I'm no expert but there is a difference I know. Dak i think you're right, .com and .net are two different domains.

RE: wholesale rv club

quote=65ShelbyCobra quote=Buck62 quote=FishinghatNo, don't know anything about a wholesale RV club selling RVs. As for underpricing a dealer, most experienced RVers have found discounts from so called "List Price" of 30% or more off from dealers, so keep that in mind. quote -------------------- These sellers have no service department, no large sales staff, no sales manager and no actual store so they have almost zero overhead just people taking orders on the phone. .quote ------------------------------- Buck62, not true...Look up Colerain Rv in Cinncinati. That is Wholsale RV Club...It's a full service dealer.Sorry to bring up and ol thread but I'm thinking of buying from them and did a little research.quote ========================= I don't think so--- Colerain has the following: Our new RV service facility consists of 15 service bays and 17 factory trained and RVIA/RVDA certified technicians. Including two 40,000 lb. chassis lifts. We can handle all your RV repairs in Cincinnati or Dayton Ohio......... Wholesale RV Club has NONE of that. No service at all. You must take it to a Authorized dealer somewhere for warranty service. You may be confusing Wholesale RV Club with RV Wholesalers. Two different companies. Be careful folks.... Sorry Bill, you are wrong... I have personally dealt with and visited Wholesale RV Club and they are in fact Colerain RV in Cincinnati, OH. =================== I'm not questioning you. I'm stating the fact that on Wholesalervclub's website they explain that they DO NO SERVICE. All service is performed by other authorized dealers & they will contact them for you. Read their website info?? that's for their customers, when they are on the road and need warranty work. they will make contact with a dealer near where they are, while traveling.

The 12 volt side of life i advised the OP to read both I and II, back on 4/22, in another thread. doesn't seem to have happened yet.

RE: Best park in Sonoma or Napa Valley

the best park in Napa Valley is at the Napa Valley Expo. they have recently upgraded a lot of the park and it's very close to downtown Napa. it's about 20 minutes to downtown Sonoma. Napa County Fairgrounds in Calistoga, has a RV park but it's not much to speak of but Calistoga is a very cool town. there is no RV park in Sonoma Valley that i know of, other than mobile home parks. there is Wine Country RV Park in Rohnert Park that gets a lot of recommendations but it's about 20-30 minutes from Sonoma Valley and longer to Napa Valley. Petaluma KOA is great, if you have kids, IMHO. it's about the same distance to Sonoma and Napa Valley as Wine Country RV Park. if you need any more info about the area or good wineries to visit, send me a PM. the DW works in the Wine Industry.

RE: Best park in Sonoma or Napa Valley

I have not been there but I'm going to check it out in about 2 weeks It seems to be a high end place. Santa Cruz Redwood Park With a lot of things to do or see. Like This it's about 3 hours and over 100 miles, in a RV with traffic, from Napa/Sonoma Valleys!

RE: $149 Workzone 2000-watt generator

Anybody familiar with this Workzone generator? The ad says it runs 11 hrs at 50% load. As I'm new to RVing I don't have a good idea if this size generator could recharge the batteries of a 28-ft RV. Suggestions? The price is certainly appealing. if you plan on using it in a campground, NO!:E good luck finding the noise level rating. they don't publish it for a reason. if you plan on boondocking or using at home or at auto races, then YES, it's worth the money.

I think we'll be fine on weight. It's a 21ft hybrid and the dry weight is 3110lbs. :R

RE: A couple of battery questions

yep, a car battery is only for immediate power to start an engine. that's why it's rated in CCA's, cold cranking amps. deep cycle batteries are made to provide steady power over longer periods of times. that's why their plates are thicker and why they're rated in RC, Reserve Capacity or AH, Amp Hours. deep cycle tend to cost more because they have more lead in them. You were doing fine until the more lead part. Two 53lb batteries have the same amount of lead. The CCA/starting one will have more but thinner plates and the AH deep cycle one will have fewer but thicker plates. you're right, i should have said thicker plates, not more lead. i was thinking more lead in each plate.

RE: world friendship wf-8735-p converter. this any good?

i've had a similar converter for the past 6 years of usage. never had a problem. are there better converters out there? yes but this one is pretty standard in the RV industry. i suggest using the trailer's converter, you can always buy a separate battery charger if you need to.

RE: what kind of roof on my 2011 Jayco

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KL5qJw397Rc&feature=youtube_gdata_player This is a link to a youtube video showing how to tell what type of roof you have. Sorry, I can't do a clicky. Hope it helps. Clicky all you do to make a clicky, is to click on the button with the Earth and chain link. paste the URL address in the upper box and then click Finished. it's that easy.

RE: new battery charger...please help!!!!

arghhhhh. maybe I wasted $40.00 on a charger then...I can probably take back to the store. I just figured that other then when im at a campground, im more likely to have the charger plugged in then the camper itself.. I thaught the camper would take days to charge it, oh well, im learning. does the charger in the camper overcharge though? or does it stop charging when battery is full? as has been said before, you have a nearly new trailer, that has the latest 3 stage converter, which works just like your battery charger. leaving it plugged in at home, is not very different than having the pulled-out battery hooked to a separate battery charger. just a lot less work of pulling it out and putting it back in.

First time posters with no profile who make this kind of post are often not real. Are you real? i'm suspicious too. never trust someone who's very first post is a complaint about a dealer or manufacturer/brand.
