RE: Easiest To Use Electric Can Opener

Using a regular can opener is literally a pain. Limited left hand and what does work has arthritis... And cans are getting weird. With pull-tops. Pull. No reaction. Pull harder. Tab breaks off. Attempt with fancy made-in-usa hand crank. The cutting wheel does not reach the lid. Invert can and the bottom is rounded. I tried some reviews but there was a lot of chatter about "styles" and whether or not a particular opener was right for the millineal "kitchen collection" Maybe here someone can steer me right. I could not find this in the consumer reports on google. Probably the little red automatic unit from bed bath and beyond, seems To work good. EDIT EDIT Just a hearty thank you for folks who piped-up. I have a PAIR of openers coming. Different models. One has a bottle-cap remover helper. No more Vice Grips.

RE: Record Rv Sales again ... are the # of campsites expanding?

Thor Industries reported record sales again. Let me know if you are aware of any campgrounds expanding its number of sites or any new Rv parks to soak up this new inventory of Rvs. Increased demand and low supply makes fuolltiming very hard. Well I did my part, I totaled my mh, and bought another used unit, one less on the road.

RE: 12 cu ft refer

I have the 12cu ft side by side with ice maker. A few things to keep in mind. Its a larger fridge than standard so it takes longer to get cold, and will use more LP when dry camping. In addition if its located in a slide it can be somewhat susceptible to temp fluctuations if vents are in the sun. This is because it vents out the side of the slide vs roof in non-slide models. There may be 1 or 2 fans in the fridge cavity to assist in circulating air...and they are often cheap and loud. One final issue I encountered during routine cleaning is I sprayed too much water on the lower vent. This put the circuit board into an "over temp limit" that I had to reset. Be cautious spraying a lot of water in/around the lower vent. Otherwise I love all the space it provides for extended trips. How did you reset the over temp limit box?

RE: transfer switch 50 amp

OK so you must be using an adapter to put a 50 amp plug into a 30 amp supply. 30 amp is 3 pins and 50 amp is 4 pins. Or is this something else? Check that the adapter is putting power on both hot pins. Then check if both the main breakers have power. Then you have the inlet connection and the transfer switch to check. I have a 50 outlet that is only wired for 30 amp, that way I can plug the big power cord into it, but it only has 110 on one blade.

RE: transfer switch 50 amp

just wondering if anyone has seen a problem coming from the transfer switch when on 30 amps But I am not using any adapters, I am just plugging in with the heavy 50 amp power cordOK so is it 30 or 50? I am plugging into to a good 30 amp box . The unit is a 50 amp m.h.using the 50 amp power cord that came with it.

RE: transfer switch 50 amp

+1 for bad adapter or some other loose connection. Of course it would also be prudent to check the GFCI outlet is not tripped. Ok, I am not getting any currant to either gfi box at all, with the boxes out of the wall to look for current.

RE: transfer switch 50 amp

A Learning Moment For Mex... With 240/50 rigs, is it a universal practice to enable all and everything but additional roof air conditioners when running on a single 120 vac leg? How is the shed of A/C power accomplished? Thank You Bestconverter has a Automatic load shed The winne adventurer has a built in load shedding device built in, but I'm not using too much power to have to shed amp draw.

RE: transfer switch 50 amp

Start by verifying that your adapter's female end (30 male to 50 female) DOES have 120 VAC between each outer straight and the center straight and center round. Zero center round to center straight. Let us know what you find. But I am not using any adapters, I am just plugging in with the heavy 50 amp power cord

RE: transfer switch 50 amp

It sounds like one of the legs is not being connected for some reason. While it's possible that there's a contact in the transfer switch that is failing to make contact, there are also other possibilities to check. It could be that your 30A to 50A adapter is broken and not supplying one of the two 50A legs with power. That should be pretty easy to check with a meter. It could also be that you have a broken connection at your shore power plug, or at the other end somewhere. I really don't know. on our previous mh, which is in salvage heaven, when ever I plugged it in , 30 or 50 amp service it always worked great. I think you are right, thats what I have been thinking. plus i am not using any adapters. i think the relay in the box does the thinking

transfer switch 50 amp

just wondering if anyone has seen a problem coming from the transfer switch when on 30 amps, I have several recepticles out , but when running the genny everything works fine. I don't have a 50 amp line at home to plug it into, so I don't know if it will do the same thing

RE: We Survived a Fatal Accident...

After reading your note, it made me think of our total loss 2 weeks ago, and dealing with progressive. Although we didn't hit another vehicle, we ran into a 7 foot pile of dirt along the side of the road, and the front of the unit looked like yours. Our unit was my baby, and after reading your story, it made me tear up. I didn't hug and kiss our unit, but I almost did.

RE: Miramar vs Hurricane vs Newmar

I think at that level the Hurricane and Bay Star quality is the same. That's interesting. When I looked at the Hurricanes, they had wrapped cabinets with particle board wood. Also, the cabinet hinges were very basic/cheap. The Baystar had real wood cabinets and heavy duty hinges on the cabinets. The furniture was also a little better quality. Not a huge difference but the Baystar definitely had better quality cabinets. The overall fit and finish just seemed a little better. That being said, I'm not sure the quality was worth $20-25K more! I think your wrong about the cabinets being all wood. They are wrapped also

RE: stabil

I have been using "PRI " in everything an doing good. A friend who works for a marina told me about it as they tried different additives and kept having corrosion problems in marine motors, until they started using it.I have found it on the internet, and it doesn't take much per gallon.

RE: Kwikee Steps won't work

I just had the same problem, as it got intermittent and then quit. I climbed underneath and found a wire that corroded off, but it was hard to see at first, as it was sitting close together at the button end connector. New connector and it works.
