RE: Campground Reviews

Somethings can't be left alone. Software being one. I suspect the old application was out dated and not going to be supported anymore. We'll all learn to like it. No choice. S I believe the old software was the main reason for this change. Probably not being supported.

Sorry you had problems with your coach. Hope they fix you up so you can enjoy your RV. We have had very few minor problems and really like our Redwood. The dealer could have helped with some of these problems prior to delivery. Most Redwood owners have had good luck with their coaches and are happy with them. The RV industry as a whole has a lot of room for quality improvement.

RE: Redwood or Solitude?

We really like our Redwood and have had only a couple of minor problems in almost two years. Have pulled it about 20k miles. Ordered it with the G614 tires and no problems.

RE: Fiver from hell

We have had two Montanas and had only minor problems. The vast majority of Montana owners are happy with their coaches but that doesn't help your with your problems. Sorry you are having serious problems with your Montana. The quality of RV's has a lot of room for improvement no matter who the manufactures it. They all make a bad one occasionally. The mark of the better manufacturers is what they do to correct the problems. Hope you get your coach fixed to your satisfaction soon.

RE: Winegard Carryout

I had the same problem. I now just keep it plugged in and coil the cords up and place them on top of the Carryout. To prevent the cable from pulling out of the connector I tie wrapped both cables to the handle. Agree, it is a poor design. On another note-does your carryout make noise like it is trying to find satellites every 15 minutes or so? This happens to mine even after it has found the satellites. Asked a Winegard tech and he was no help. It is annoying.

RE: Redwood 5th wheel weight

You can go to this site and find out what the dry weight is. http://www.redwood-rv.com/ Your truck should be enough although most of us have dual rear ends.

RE: Lets talk about Bearing Buddies

Your problem wasn't the e-z lube system, you apparently had four bad seals, or they wouldn't have leaked grease past a double lipped spring tensioned seal. How does a person get four bad seals? Easy, a person pulling and reinstalling four wheel drum assemblies that doesn't know how to do it correctly. The wheels were never pulled off until I took them off and found grease on the brakes. I did change the seals so if they go bad now it will be my fault. If you like the E-Z Lube go for it. I will not take a chance on them again.

RE: Lets talk about Bearing Buddies

I very carefully hand pumped a couple of squirts in my E-Z Lube axles about every 3K to 4k miles. After about 16000 miles I removed the wheels and found all four seals had leaked grease onto the brakes. Had to replace one set of shoes. I will never use them again. Oh yes, I have a lot better braking now!!!
