I need to know a good route rom around Albany NY to Arcadia NP in Main. I don't need to know which campgrounds you stayed at or which restruant you ate at just which roads you used. although that info is appreciated it also confuses sometimes. Which road from where to where. Thinks

RE: NC Mountains

I,ve done both I-40 and I-26 in a 30 ft gasser towing. 40 going east, slow down to about 35-40 gear down and use brakes to keep it there. When speed gets up to 45 or so use brakes then let off so they will cool. Never seen anyone have a problem and I've been that way lots going to Cherokee.

Satallite tv

Camping world has a tailgater dish that is manual setup and has one feed horn for $159. Does anyone have one of these, how well do they work, what channels can you pick up? This thing has the compass and is marked for elevation. Is there a similar priced option? Thanks.

Route through new england

I know this has been discussed a dozen times so one more won't hurt. I plan on leaving Va. in about a week, going up I-81 into NY then which is the best way to pick US 2 asross to Maine? I'll be in a 30ft gasser pulling a toad. I appreciate any input. Thanks.

RE: Buying Sightseer 30A

I have a 04 winney Sightseer 30B on a workhorse chassis. This puppy has been solid as a rock. put on a set of wires, change oil every 5k. If I could find a new one with the same floor plan I would swap it in a heartbeat. For 2 people it can't be beat.

RE: Tow Dolly Tire

Single axel vehicles like trailers, tow dollies and the like are built with a certain amount of "toe in" so they will self center out of a turn. In order for this to work the tongue of the dolly must be at the correct height. If this is correct, then your axel is out of alignment much like old stait axel vehicles.

RE: Class A verses 5th Wheel

I have a question? If you're going down the road and DW has to use the potty What do you do with a 5er? When you're headed out about lunch time what do you do if you want a sammich? When you've traveled all day in the hot sun how long does it take for your 5er to cool down? Do you see where I'm going with this? Every one has different Ideas on what is best for them, you like your 5er, I like my class a.

RE: Steering problem. Does not go straight on highway

Let me tell you a story, most motor homes bodywork covers the wheel enough that normal alignment machnery for trucks will not work. The first thing is you need to find someone who knows what he is doing. Had my front end checked and they fixed toe in I went to Florida and burnt up a tire. Next guy said I needed new bell cranks but they weren't in stock. I took it to Roanoke auto spring in Roanoke, let me tell you the dude knew his stuff. This was on a 04 p-30 woekhorse and it handles the interstate at 75 just as easy as 45. Just be sure you pump your air bags, if you have them to where you want them before any alignment is done and check them just like your tires. Any change in that pressure will change the alignment.

Ford f53 chassis

I have a 04 winney on a P-30 chassis and it drives like a dream. I can do 65+ all day with one hand. Now we are getting ready to trade and more than likely will end up with a 35ft or so on an F53. From what I read on here you have to spend a lot of cash to get these puppys to drive decent. Whats the real story? What will I "have" to do to be comfortable on the interstates??
Thanks

RE: Dolly vs. 4 Down

Well here we go again. I suppose every one has a preference as which way to tow a dingy, me I use a demco dolly bought used. Now when putting on the straps they are all the same and if put on correctly they will not get loose. Now for the safety chains, the first car I used was a piece of cake, it had a strut arm that rsn to the front of the car no problem. Now I tow a toyota rav 4 2wd and the whole front is plastic. I have to get on my back to hook the chains. For this I carry a large beach towel to lay on the ground. In 4 years and 40k miles I have had to un hook 3 times at campgrounds because the sites were not long enough. When I have to use a backin site as I am now I unload the car and back the dolly as you would a trailer. Now there will be some who say it can't be done but ask the camp owner in SC who wouldn't bet 2 nights that I couldn 't. In fact I backed into this site in Lancaster Pa. that I'm in now.

Louisville Show.

What can anyone tell me about this show. I'm looking to trade and I know the deals at some shows are pretty good. Almost pulled the trigger at Hershey last year but decided to wait and go to Lazydays da what a waste. Don't care about classes or shows just new motorhomes and good deals. Thanks
