RE: Got a great grill at BJ's Wholesale Club today

I had one of the Thermos gas grills about 10 years ago. Wouldn't get hot enough to cook here at 6500 ft. Gave it away and bought the Q a great grill. It stays in the rv. Get it home and hit it with the pressure washer and it's ready for the next trip. I wish it had 2 burners where you could cook with indirect heat but thats a minor inconvience. I haven't seen any thing I would replace it with.

RE: How Much Stuff Do You Bring for a Weekend Trip?

The only thing more fun than watching campers set up is a boat ramp with wind blowing 90 degrees to it.

RE: What RV damage has Gorilla Duct Tape repaired?

I have a 1956 Ajo camper I hunt out of sometimes. It developed a leak in the roof seam. I read that Gorilla Tape was water proof so I tried it. It's been there 4 years and still no leak.

RE: Pics of set up adjustment needed?

I have a carrier box on mine also. Mine is mounted in a 2 inch receiver on a custom frame mounted hitch. I carry a 4000w gen. and 10 gallons of gas on mine. 2 diferent fifth wheels and thousands of miles and no problems handleing or balance. I also double pull from time to time and the trailer has 200 pounds+ of tonge weight.

RE: Run furnace in 5er while driving?

I run mine on the road. None of the registers are covered with the slide in. Even if one register was covered in my trailer I would. All my registers have an open or closed position. I close the living room register when boondocking to get more heat into the bedroom at night. The thermostst is in the bedroom and I can close the door between the living area and bedroom. The heater still dumps enough heat in the living room. I put on a pot of coffee first thing and by the time it perks the rooms have equalized.

RE: Use of furnace in Fiver

Down to about 20 degrees I can run my heater about 3 nights. I keep the inside temp no higher than 60 and pull the slide in. I also use battery powered florescent lights instead of the trailer lighting. Mine is a 28 footer.

New Dully

RE: Dump Station Woes

Nowhere do the hands on the watch move slower than when you are in a line at a dump station. You can honestly spend a half day there in just 20 minutes. :) Or at the boat ramp in a storm.

RE: Looking for pics of second AC installed on 30A

My trailer is 30 A and is wired for a second airconditoner. The wires for the second air are not terminated at the breaker box but are labeled and caped with twist locks. It would be easy to add a reverse 120 volt outlet to the outside wall and run one with an extension cord.

RE: My new Used 5th wheel problem thread, i need Some Help!

As said replace the vent cover and black tank vent. I would replace the sewer drain valve, they dont last forever being hard to operate is why the handle is broken, a new handle won't make it easier to operate. Replace the missing trim and any missing screws. The caulking may not leak now but soon will remove the old and recaulk. The fridge may not look good but I wouldnt worry about it, keep the doors open when not in use to prevent mold. All in all not to much work a couple of week ends should have it all fixed.

RE: Family Friendly Parks (all over & in Arizona)

Northern AZ. has some really nice state and National Forest campgrounds. Temps will hardley reach 90. Now that school has started they will be a little easier to get into. Nearly all will not have hook ups. Most will have dump stations, nice clean restrooms and showers. There are also many places for dispersed camping-boondocking.

RE: Family Friendly Parks (all over & in Arizona)

Deming would be a better place to over night than Lordsburg, several nice RV parks. In Gilbert, Mesa or just about any where around Phoenix you'll be hard pressed to find a park that allows under 55 years old. KOA in Apache Junction allows kids. And yes they will turn you away for kids or age. There is a park on the far west side of Phoenix that allows kids I only overnighted there once, sorry I can't remember the name. I'm sure there are others. Drag out a campground guide and start looking.

RE: Sewer hose reco?

But wait, there's more! :B There is a sewer "hose holder". It's graduated in height, extends, you can wrap it around a tree if needed and really helps in making dumping a breeze! Pick it up right at Walmart. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Camco-15-Sidewinder/14504353 http://i.walmartimages.com/i/p/00/01/47/17/43/0001471743041_180X180.jpghttp://i48.tinypic.com/2rzrm2b.jpg Lot's of stuff to buy for a MH, yup......lot's of $stuff$. :C The holder is becoming a necessity. A few of the places I stay in AZ will no longer you to lay a hose directly on the ground. Not park rules I've been told but city or county rules. I dosen't have to be commercial I've seen strips of 1/4 inch plywood used that were loaned out by park owners for those that don't have anything.

RE: Post some of your favorite standby camp meals!

Frito Pie: Put a layer of Fritos on plate. Pour canned chili over fritos. Sprinkle with chopped onion and grated cheese. I do the same thing using the personel size fritos. Open the bag lengthwise pour the chile in, add onions and cheese. Eat out of the bag.

RE: Double towing/lights on second trailer

Run it under the trailer in conduitt. Secure it where the cross members are. You should be able to see the screw heads holding up underbelly.
