RE: Trailer Life Magazine

Thanks for the info. Another way around companies using your card number again (one reason to NEVER use debit card for online purchases) is to use virtual credit card numbers. My Citibank card has them and it generates a one time credit card number that is different from your card number. So even if they keep the number it won't work next year when they 'auto-renew'.

RE: I'm a retired salesman

Why don't they just sell it for the same price to everybody? You don't haggle over prices at Walmart.

RE: Almost made a huge mistake

As mentioned the Megacab is the payload killer. My crewcab has 3.73 and the payload is 4400 lbs. if you want a monster cab for your back seat passengers then go with the Mega. I don't ride back there so the crewcab is fine with me.

RE: surge protector

What is wrong with the portable ones from Progressive Industries? I just bought this 30 Amp for my TT.
PI 30 Amp
I know it doesn't have the fancy display but it still should protect my camper right?

RE: Eliminating new trailer smell?

Surprised this is still an issue. Our new Jayco TT was festooned with stickers stating the construction materials were CARB compliant and low emissions/formaldehyde free. It smells more like plywood than an embalming room, and airs out quickly when opened up. :h
That is exactly why I bought a Jayco. They use plywood (look under the bunk mattress) and not the formaldehyde laced particle board. Other campers gave the DW and I a headache after 30 seconds inside while we were looking.

RE: Best gas card

X2 on Penfed. Instead of silly points and other 'offers' that may expire, they actually deduct a cash amount from your bill. 5% is a lot larger than 5 cents off a gallon like some people think is a good deal. With most prices over $4 you will save at least 20 cents a gallon.

RE: Sewer Hose Storage Gone Wrong

Why use a hose? Just pull up to the dump station and open your valves like the guy in front of you does...

RE: Does my 2013 Forester need Dealer's xtra Exterior Coating??

And guess what happens when you lose your 'chip' or it malfunctions? Then you can't start your own camper.
Like the others have said, save your money.
It is a good thing that you are asking before instead of after!

RE: I Have Been Profiled for RVing and Solar Ads

Google tailors ads depending on what you look at online. Then the ads come up on other sites while you are looking there. I looked at sheets on amazon and then my wife went to another site And google ads showed the exact sheets we were looking at before. It's almost scary

RE: My trip to see the new Ram 3500HD DRW at Detroit Auto Show

...AND in this cold weather, I REALLY like the heated steering wheel:B ( I remember laughing at the thought of that when I looked at the 2010, but didn't take long for me to come to appreciate it on a cold morning.)
again, thanks for the pics and input..
I know exactly what you mean. I love my heated steering wheel as well. I make everybody grab the wheel when it is cold out and I say you gotta feel this!

RE: Our new truck !

I saw the posting title that had excitement in it, and I knew you had bought a Ram ! Excellent choice and wait until a cold morning and you turn on the heated steering wheel and seats. But what will really put a smile on your face is when you step on the skinny pedal and make that Cummins pull anything you want. : ) I love being able to hitch up with out any assistance using the rear view camera also.
Enjoy !

RE: 2012 Ram Cummins -Auto or Manual?

My '06 Ram was a manual. So when I was looking to trade I also looked for a manual. Good thing someone special ordered my truck then didn't want it. They dealer practically gave it away. Who would want a manual with the Laramie trim, leather, rear DVD and snow plow prep? Well that was me! They have the no stall feature, so you just pull out the clutch without even touching the gas. And even on a hill my 10,000 camper takes off with ease. Love my manual and I'm glad Ram still has sense enough to make them for us less than 1%ers or whatever the % is.
