RE: Slide motor quits, wait a few seconds, starts again..

I have a keystone 5er - the underbelly has a cut out where I can get to the slideout motor and turn a shaft by hand to move the slide - do not have to disconnect the motor) - once slide bounded up and after a few turns DW pressed button and slide opened - also check through your owners manuals - Bob

RE: Keystone New Models

Sounds like some Keystone bashing going on - none of my Keystones had anymore problems than any other brands - have towed over about 60,000 miles over the last 4 years and seen many campgrounds loaded with Keystone products - you hear about the lemons but not the lemonaide - I don't work for them but they must be doing something right to stay in business - Bob

RE: Satellite TV no signal

We have Dish 500 and have occasionally had to call the Dish techs for help - Sometimes we get a tech who can't help us - sometimes we get a tech who knows less than us - when that happens and it becomes obvious that we are getting nowhere, we thank them - hang up and call again - we never get the same tech twice - not only are you not getting the same tech you are probably not even getting the same country - the 2nd tech almost always is successful - SOMETIMES YOU CAN BE IN A PLACE WHERE THERE IS NO SIGNAL - check with other campers around you that have Direct - Bob

Black Tank Flush Leaks - Help

When I used the black water tank flush to flush out my black water tank after awhile drops of water were slowly running up the water hoses in the basement - once I noticed it there was quite a puddle on the basement floor - it is not black water but is the water I was flushing with so leak is happening before it gets into the black water tank - anyone out there ever have this happen to them - rig is still under warrenty but would rather try and fix it myself and avoid dropping it off at a dealer or cw - have used this forum before to fix things and any ideas, comments, or suggestions are welcomed - thank you - Bob

Have been very pleased with our previous and current cougar 5th wheels - some minor issues but Keystone took care of them - no problems at all with the heat or AC - Bob

RE: Cougar Owners - Rear Slideout Bike/Storage Rack

I originally posted the question and due to the positives results I have been using my bike/storage slide without a problem - aside from using the eyebolt to secure the bike I use the openings in the floor and strap the tires - could also can easily drill more
holes/openings in the floor of the slide to strap/bungi to futher stabize/secure

RE: Cougar Owners - Rear Slideout Bike/Storage Rack

Hi Uppercrust - also tore bottom of spare cover on my last rig - that was one of the reasons I was concerned about using the slideout - if you reposition the bar that attaches to your spare you can lift that tire by a few inches - been encouraged by those who say that you have not bottomed out

Cougar Owners - Rear Slideout Bike/Storage Rack

Have you ever bottomed out with it extended - never used mine in my previous cougars because I thought I would bottom out - recently spoke to a guy who said he never does and he uses the slideout all the time - haven't really noticed other cougars in the past with their slideouts opened though had not really been looking - what has been your experience

RE: cougar 318 sab 5th wheel

Great price - That's what we paid after searching the internet for months - Prices ran from 46K to 29K for the exact same unit - I feel the key is not the sales price but how much you have to put out after your trade in

RE: Any opinions/experience buying 5th wheel from CW?

those costs seem high to me - Camping World's cost for a 5th airborne pinbox / sidewinder combo is about double what it costs on line - huge markup -we go there for what we can't find elsewhere or for convenence but not for big money items - if you feel uneay about a deal, don't do it, there will be another one out there - Bob

RE: Great Buying Experience

Hi Bob - after much research we knew we wanted a 2009 Cougar318SAB 5th wheel - typed 2009 Cougar318SAB and did a google search - up came all those models listed for sale and the dealers selling them - did this repeatly over the course of a few months and compared prices and features - you will be surprised in how much prices will vary, feel free to PM me if you want more info - Bob

Great Buying Experience

often read about horror stories involving the buying, selling and/or sevicing of RV's by dealers - we had a great experience - searched the internet for months for what we wanted - called Genuine RV in Nacogdoches, Texas and dealt with David Morris - upon arrival we found the deal to be exactly as agreed upon - no hidden costs - no nonsense at all - they parked our rigs next to each other for the transfer of our stuff - gave us a hookup so we could spend the night and check everything out - answered every question we had - told us we spend another night if we wanted to - gave us a key to the gate so we could come and go and feel safe at night - David even recommended places to eat - Tammy handled all our paperwork which can be complicated between Texas and Florida - even swithed my tires from the old rig to the new rig - I am a retired RVer and do not work for them and probably will never find myself in that area again - simply wanted to publicly acknowledge a job well done - Bob and Vicki

New Microwave Quit - What Would You Do

Bought new rig a few weeks ago and tonight the Microwave wouldn't come on - checked the breaker but it was not tripped - fuse panel does not show a spot for a microwave fuse - if it does have a fuse where would I find it - haven't removed the microwave yet to check the plug though I can't see how that could be the problem - figured tomorrow I'd plug it into another outlet and see if it worked - since they are not all that expensive it might just be easier and quicker to go walmart and replace it - have a warrenty but don't really want to tie up the rig - any suggestions would be appreciated - what would you do - Bob
ps - haven't had the time to figure out how to change our signature
PROBLEM SOLVED - LOOSE PLUG CONNECTION WAS INDEED THE PROBLEM MUCH TO MY RELIEF AND SURPRISE - took microwave out of cabinet and found it was loosely connected - must have worked loose during travel - would like to thank all of you for your help - rv.net forums are the best - Bob

Satellite Prep - What Does It Mean - Help

We bought a new 2009 Cougar 318 fifthwheel last week and love it with one exception - can't get our dish 500 to work - cannot get power to the dish - used it in our previous cougar for 2 years without a problem - assumed that satellite prep meant all I had to do was connect the cable - my father told me many years ago never to assume ( ass-u-me) - hate to get involved with the dealer or a dish 500 guy if it is a simple matter - any feedback is appreciated - Bob
ps - haven't changed the name of my rig or added new states to my signature yet - that perhaps is a technolog question for another day
