Ft Mountain was always my favorite. Nice trails, big sites. I miss the State parks of GA.

RE: Has anyone camped at Conewago C/G Hersher Pa?

I go by there everyday going to work in Etown. There are always a large number of campers there. Since I live so close, I have never stayed there or driven into the CG to check it out. If you do go and want some good bar B Q, try randy lees at the country kitchen about a mile or so north of the CG. It doesnt look like much from the outside, but the food is great.

Headed to Cherry Hill this saturday

The time is almost here for us to head on our trip of the summer to DC. This will be our first time at Cherry Hill CG and cant wait after all we have read on here. We have tours of the white House and Capital arrainged by our congressman, We are also going to visit MT Vernon and all of the normal monuments and museums. Here is the question. What is the one thing worth seeing that most visitors never go to see that you found by accident and were glad you did? Also, is there a grocery store near the CG? Id prefer to wait and buy what we need there.

RE: Seven Points Raystown Lake, Pa

This is our favorite campground in PA. There is no water at the site, you have to use your tank. There are plenty of Hydrants to fill up. We like the point and ridge areas the best. There is a marina where you can rent a boat or take a cruise to see the scenary. About 5 miles away is Huntinton that has plenty of places to get groceries or other needs.

RE: Washington DC

We have reservations in June. We also heard the sites can be tight, but figured we will just be sleeping there more than anything else. We dont plan on being there very much with all there is to see and do in the DC area. Hope you have a great time while you are there.

RE: Cherry Hill on Memorial Day weekend!

We won't be there during your stay, but will be there June 20 - 26. We have the capital tour confirmed already, and hope our Representive can get us the White House tour. Everything we have read and heard about the CG, we wont be disapointed

RE: Florida Trailer Inspections

Dont feel bad, PA has the same inspection. It is a pain to hook it up and take to the the inspection site and not go camping. Cost me $36 here. I sure miss Ga No inspection there and the best State Parks on the east coast

RE: Frozen valve in hot water heater pipes

I would use the same as you already have (PEX piping) You can get fittings that you dont have to crimp. I know lowes has them because I had to fix a problem in my home that has PEX piping also.

RE: Gulfstream TT Quality Issues

Just minor, easy fixes so far. We just started our second season with ours. The worst I have happen is the storage trays fell in the pass through compartment. I just added more screws.

Lesson Learned

I thought I had done a good job at my first winterizing, until I de-winterized. Everything was looking good, lines had clear water coming out, hot water tank didn't leak, all was well. When I was all done, there was some leftover anti-freeze in the tub. No problem, I'll just rinse it out with the shower head. Leaks everywhere!!
I guess I forgot to drain the shower hose or did not run anti-freeze through it. At least it was a minor item, but a lesson learned.
What lesson have some you learned the hard way? It may benefit us all

Looking for CG in West Virginia

Looking for a campground in WV that has at least W and E that is in a remote setting. Full hookups would be a bonus. We enjoy hiking and just watching nature, so no activities are needed. We need to be able to navigate a 30' TT, so we try to avoid major road inclines. Thanks for the info.

RE: winter camping advice

James Island in Charelston is very nice. Foley beach is close by for the beach part. Charleston is a great town to explore. Not too far is Hilton Head and Savannah.
