RE: Between the tires chocks?

We used the roto's on our first 5er...very pleased with them....however our current trailer has the 6 pt leveling system....invariably when the system levels the trailer...it removes most of the weight off the axle springs and the roto chock falls off...thats ok until your retract the jacks and as the weight settles back down there's nothing to keep the traler from rolling away...we've since gone back to the conventional chocks..

RE: Are the six point level systems worth it?

I haven't had any problems either until this last trip...backed into what looked like a fairly level site at least to the naked eye...put the chocks out, unhooked the truck...plugged power in and hit the auto level button...it started going thru it motions and then just quit...tried 3 more times same thing....figured it was broke. Luckily we had a POS level for setting up the satellite which I put on the floor and started manually adjusting the jacks..took some playing around until I got the hang of it..it was then I realized that the site from front to back dropped appox 2-3 ft...evidently the rear jacks couldn't make up that distance which was why it wouldn't auto level...put some linx blocks under them, finished leveling manually by watching the level indicator on the system window until I got the green light....not that big of a deal but now I know what to look for...

RE: Are the six point level systems worth it?

Our previous 5er was a Bighorn...never had any issues leveling it so I didn't understand all the hype about auto leveling until we got our current trailer with the 6 pt system...the auto function works great but what I really like is that it always raises the trailer enough to take most of the weight off of the axle springs...so once its finished...its very solid when walking around in it....GL

RE: Help with gun selection

I'd go with the Judge/Govenor too...if there's ever an event where she'll need it...chances are the distance will be less than 10 ft and firing No#4 buckshot or the PDX round...can't see her missing at that range.......also..since your wife will be wading...I'd opt for a shoulder holster...BTW my wife has no issues firing the Judge....now if you're gonna spend all day shooting at the range, that won't be fun but the one time she needs it to unload a couple of shots..I'll bet she won't even remember the recoil.....GL

RE: Towing 5th with mega cab DWR Short bed?

The rear base wt is ~ 3300 lbs. The rear GAWR is 9350 lbs 2600 lbs payload... really??? Agree.....when we bought our 08 mega DWD ... figured weight wouldn't be a problem with a dually and it wasn't...never any issues starting/stopping...stopped at CAT scales one day coming back from a typical trip and discovered my payload was right at 4000 lb...

RE: What kind of Florida snake was this

Looks like a Pine Snake. Harmless, non-venomous. Protected in some states. Agree...surprised it even got close to the nest...most barnyard fowl will harass a snake until they force it to leave.....

RE: Reality TV shows are degrading

Agree...."Dirty Jobs" the best...rest are trash except for "Finding Bigfoot" thats all about real live animals... Also is there an unwritten rule that in order to host a show...you must be tatted & pierced from head to toe???

RE: Your Rig

Do you have a slider? How do you like towing with it? Yes we have a slider...truck does a great job of pulling.....thanks for not asking about fuel mileage.....GL

RE: Tire shop in Knoxville area for 19.5 balancing?

I run 19.5 as well...make sure they have the proper wheel balance machine or odds are you won't be happy...you need the one that uses the lug holes to mount the tire...not the other kind that uses the hub...they're ok for passenger type tires but its almost impossible to get a truck tire exactly centered...GL http://oi47.tinypic.com/14y5wg3.jpg http://oi49.tinypic.com/1zg7upc.jpg

Sani-Con problem....

Bought the pump about 4 years ago for "just in case"....this isn't a permanent mount. Only actually used it a couple of times and was glad I had it. Wired current trailer like the old one...straight from the battery...tested for voltage and tester says I have plenty..ran a continuity check on the pump and its a go. As a last check...plugged in pump turned on switch and nothing. Read manual it says turn the manual operated screw a few times CW & CCW and no help...as a last check cut the new plug ends off and wired it directly to an extra battery I have in the work room and nothing. Is there some sort of built in fuse I'm missing? Any other suggestions?

RE: What is your payload rating on your yellow sticker

The first poster go it right. '05 Chevy dually, it weights 8,000 empty. The sum of the axle weights is 13,300. That leaves me 5,300 payload. Like the way you think....I agree Weighed our rig loaded for a typical trip...payload was 4,000lb contrary to the sticker http://oi45.tinypic.com/2h4aob8.jpg http://oi49.tinypic.com/28u07dw.jpg
