RE: I need a dump station The Dalles to Portland, OR

For dump stations and water, there is a great new app called Sanidumps for iPhone and iPads that provides info and maps for dump stations in North America. Its a fabulous app (OK, full disclosure, I'm the developer so may be slightly biased) and best of all its free.

RE: Some random questions driving through Canada to Alaska

As a rule of thumb, "commercial" campgrounds in Alberta have a potable water source and a dump station. Provincial and federal government camp sites are not likely to have those services. The following web site will likely be of significant use to you;

For dump stations and water, Sanidumps has just released an iPhone app that uses the same database as the website, so there are thousands of dump stations listed:

RE: Running 4 gauge wires through trailer wall from batteries.

I did this last year on my solar project. Instead of a junction box, I just used 2 PCV strain relief fittings and sealed around them with silicone. The #2 cable fit perfectly and its fully watertight.

Inside the basement, I cut a hole on the front which gave me access to the back of the diamond plate. I then put in a low voltage boxe and modified a blank plate with holes and grommets to protect the cables.

It worked great and looks good too.

RE: Sorry about beating the LED horse to death but...

I bought 14 of those same LED's from the same seller this spring in two batches and every one has the same warm color with no odd tones. There is no noticeable difference between the original bulbs and these LED's. I would complain and get him to replace them.

RE: Low cost Solar Charge Controller help

You may want to consider the Prostar PS15. Its only $15 more but provides 3 stage charging which I don't think the SS20 does. Its 5A less capacity but with a single panel you should be fine.
