How are interior walls repaired/replaced?

I have some water damage to one bedroom wall of a '97 Holiday Rambler Navigator 40ft diesel pusher. The wall covering peeled back exposing damaged 'particle wood' or some kind of wall board. What is this material? How is it mounted? What material should I use to replace it? Should it be fire retardant or special in any other way? Where can I purchase it? Is there anything special about the wall covering or how it is removed and replaced? It looks similar to vinyl wall paper. Thanks from Houston, TX.
