RE: Shed for camper

Most 5th wheels and class a motor homes will not exceed 13.5 feet high. That is almost always the air conditioner on the roof . If you build a 14 foot clearance, you,ll be fine.

RE: tire load

You forgot the tongue weight! 13.5 k less at least 2k tongue weight leaves 11.5 k for 4 tires. Granted that there is very little reserve for safety, but if you don't overload with STUFF you will be within weight limits on tires.

RE: fl 5th wheel

We have had our stone ridge 38fl for 9 months. Spent 50 plus nights, pulled over 5 k miles. We love it! It's our third 5th wheel and for our purposes it's perfect. Pulling it with 2012 Chevy silver ado 2500hd and it does a fine job. Pulls strong, stops well, always in control. We bought the stone ridge because of it's wide open floorplan and because it was the lightest front living model we found. Almost nothing we would change. We ordered it with the 7000 pound axles and Goodyear g rated tires and 5th airborne pin box. Pulls better than the two previous 5ers we owned. The front living plans simply give a more residential feel to them.

RE: Front Living Floorplans

We own a KZ Stone Ridge 38fl and LOVE it! It is the 3rd fiver we have owned and we feel it is ideal for the way we camp. It has over 5000 miles and 40 nights on it now and there is very little we would change. The 38fl is unique in that the raised front living area and the kitchen is separated by a wrought iron railing making for a really wide open area. The other front living units that we looked at felt cramped by comparison. The fit and finish is outstanding, almost no problems. We ordered it with the leveling system, electric power cord reel, insulated windows, 2 a/c's, 7000# axles, G rated Goodyears, king bed. It is also the lightest of the Fl models that we looked at. Check it out at the KZ website, I think you'll like it.

RE: Facing first hurricane, advice

as a louisiana resident we have discussed this issue before many times. Concensus seems to be to leave if you can. If you cant, pull in slides, hook up to tow vehicle and try to fill all holding tanks for additional weight to lower center of gravity. Good luck.

RE: KZ Stone Ridge 36RLB

We have a 2012 Stone Ridge 38fl purchased in March. Have since put over 5000 miles on it and are very happy with the unit. We would recommend KZ Stone Ridge to anyone looking for a quality 5th wheel in the upper middle price range.

RE: STONERIDGE

we have a 2012 Stone Ridge 38fl that we got in March. It's the 4th 5th wheel unit we have owned. The previous 3 were Cardinals. We've put 4000 miles on the unit and camped in it for about 30 nights. It has been a superb unit. NO problems! We got the insulated windows and 2 a/c's and it kept us very comfortable in 105 degree heat. The Stone Ridge units are relatively light for their size and my 38fl pulls good with a 2012 Silverado 2500hd duramax. I personally don't think you can beat the Stone Ridge units for value for the dollar. They offer some of the most unique floor plans in the industry and have the reputation of backing what they sell.
