RE: 5th Wheel Hitch-Rails

A slight crushing of the bed ribs can also cause this. Are the spacers in place between the rail and the bed at the bolt locations?

RE: Pics of set up adjustment needed?

I see an easy fix for you. Ford had a TSB for the SD where the 4" blocks on the rear axle were swapped out to 2" blocks to gain clearane for 5ers. That would lower the bed height by 2". The truck looks hiney high to me in the first pic. Any spring shop could do it pretty cheaply if you don't want to mess with it

RE: Anyone Remember Sherwood Forest CG in Myrtle Beach?

Hotels also. Our marriage has far outlived where we honeymooned on the south end of MB. As well as the south loop at HBSP after some hurricane got it. I guess thats why us oldy oldsters (our DD's term :)) have built in memories.

RE: Guts, Glory and ...

Covering up a turd. That is funny. How about the fool that walked between the truck and the wrecker with tension on the cable? I love it that the tree huggers will probably sue them. Some days just go to poop!

RE: Gear Power slide motor source

Nothing like egg on my face, you are right. It is Power Gear. I don't know where I got it backwards, but thanks. PPL was the $525 quote if anybody else is shopping.

RE: Gear Power slide motor source

It is Gear Power, NOT Powergear and the number came off of the motor.

RE: Gear Power slide motor source

522788 Thanks
I had a local motor shop look at it about a year ago to the tune of $120 when it was still barely working properly.Took it back last week when it was about dead, they said it was still fine. I think I need to find a new motor shop but in the meantime I need to get this fixed. Thanks

Gear Power slide motor source

My slide motor needs replacing but Gear Power does not sell to the public. I have 2 quotes and am waiting on a third, all from RV dealers. One at $900, and one at $525. For the same part number BTW. Any brand alternatives I've missed, or a discount vendor? I don't mind spending money, but that is a huge swing. (Also 1 on EBAY at $700+). Any direction you can point me in would be appreciated.

RE: Bolt snapped off but from where??

The way it's made with the stepped shank it was designed to center something. That IMHO lets out rear springs, but the gear box comment is good or maybe control arms. That is a serious bolt. The fact that you heard the noise after stressing the steering system would lead me to that system. You are smart to red tag the unit until you find out.

RE: Need dealer in Atlanta who knows Ram CTDs

I'm surprised I'm posting this as my opinion of Chrysler products is pretty low, but in the case of the CTD you are talking about you may never need a tech.

RE: No dash camera for me

The insurance companies tell us to not say anything but name rank and serial number. He didn't say he would lie. I just noticed you post from DC, the lie capital of the country :).

RE: Virginia State Parks and dogs

Va has had the pet fee for many years. If the parks were fuller before, it was because the economy was better.

Electric slide motor conversation please.

A question for the electrically talented among us please. Can a motor run but get weak? My local motor place says its fine, my experiences tell me it's not. My slide is not binding, it is properly lubricated with Dri slide, but coming in it can not get over the hump without help. I have tested all power and grounds, the battery is fully charged, and the harness coming out of the frame at the slide motor matches voltage at the battery. The motor runs in both directions as it should. I know that electric motors have full power instantly, so can this thing be bad but still spin when powered? Thanks for any help.

RE: 1997 Itasca Sunrise Engine Rebuild - Lost Oil Filter Adapter

I think I found one that will work. PM your email or a fax # and I'll send a drawing. Part number is 12559660 listed for a 7.4 4WD pickup. It is still available thru any GM dealer at $67.29 plus any tax. Your chassis was not built with the engine oil cooling option, so I'm thinking that if they used GM stuff this would have been the one.

RE: 1997 Itasca Sunrise Engine Rebuild - Lost Oil Filter Adapter

I just called a buddy that works at a Chevy/Workforce dealer. He was not able to help. The factory cooler lines do not go into the adapter on the Vortec engines which began in 1996. What year is your chassis? PM me the VIN if you wish, I can go further with that info.

RE: 1997 Itasca Sunrise Engine Rebuild - Lost Oil Filter Adapter

I see the problem with your part number. It's listed for a P30 chassis which would be correct, but a 5.7, not your 7.4. Let me dig some more.

RE: 1997 Itasca Sunrise Engine Rebuild - Lost Oil Filter Adapter

Where did that part number come from? It's coming up as a bad number. If your MH is a Workhorse chassis it will block me from looking it up as we are not a Workhorse dealer.. The main question is does the unit have an oil cooler that hoses connect to? If so I think a 12564010 will work. It is also discontinued, and no dealer in the US shows it. If it doesn't have a cooler than there are others you can use.

RE: Virginia State Parks and dogs

I have never seen a park employee deal with a pile. I have seen many dog owners pick up somebody else's pile. If VA is trying to steer dog owners elsewhere, it's not working. VA State Parks has a presence here and their park system is top shelf from staff to facilities. I pay the dog fee without complaint, all part of doing business.
