RE: auto start for genny??

Note that some of these thermostats if located close to the inverter will have the inverter generate electrical noise which makes the thermostat jump up which starts the generator. Onan has one as does Magnum energy...I have had to deal with magnum energy and I can tell you that they stand behind the product.

RE: Putting fuel in a diesel pusher

The best part is when I was pumping at a Royal Farms...on 13 on the Delmarva....I learned how to take a shower in diesel fuel.....

RE: Rear Furnace Won't Work

Try a reset of the dometic thermostat...it's somewhere on the forum how to do it.

RE: Cayman owner opinions

The RR4R has had problems with the trailing arms---big time recall on that which Monaco will not do anymore...and I understand the ride stinks....Navistar won't even build the RR4R chassis anymore...Please do a search on the forum for trailing arms and this should all come up. I say nix the 4R completely...I'm not trying to rain on your parade..I'm trying to save your wallet.

RE: Windshield sun shade

I have black SunGuards...it took a bit as the first cut was not correct but they did make good on them and we were in 95 degree weather in July and they work great.....they look absolutely great on the coach too.

RE: GulfstreamTourMasterT40C vs. FleetwoodProvidence39R

Try reaching out to Gulfstream for factory support...'nuff said...The Gulfstream is a beautiful glitzy coach....and the factory support I hear stinks--no calls returned--etc

RE: 2003 W22 Workhorse Brake Failure

I had the 2006 W22 chassis on a Coachmen Aurora and went to a DP for different reasons...I never had the brake problem but somehow I'm glad I traded this coach....I know where it is right now because it was involved in a failed dealer and ended up on a Pa dealers' lot...I only hope that when it is finally sold....the person gets the recall done..and I never received any recall notice from either Coachmen or Workhorse either...

RE: A Different Perspective

What great pictures Derrick....you have to understand that I ended up doing the RV thing in March 2006 because of my dogs.....they go everywhere with us and I can't tell you how many pictures I have of them.....Summer and Sierra love to drive (I can't even go out and fuel up anymore without coming back in and finding a bulldog in the driver seat) Sully cares about his step cover...that's his slumbering spot when we drive and he waits for Stella to put out the cover so he can sleep on it. Our OBX trip was great except for my diesel shower and I drove down through a Nor Easter and back through one...we get more vacation time for 2010 so we are going to go back via Virginia and back to OBX (great new place on Roanoke Island to set up but some sites much better than others)..now of course, I get to put the cover on it and have basically winterized...what a bummer....only 8 more years like this and then I can sell the NJ stick house and take it easy..... The one thing I would love to find out is what April Klein had to say about Monaco/Navistar at that rally in Arizona...my curiosity abounds.

RE: Passenger air leak on Coachmen Aurora

That door is your air intake for your intake for your AC system when it is on MAX AC or recirc... that door flips open to take in coach air on that setting and closes on all other settings so your system takes in fresh air...

RE: Trouble with Mcdonough RV

GET TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL NOW!!!!!!....... It is sad and criminal how people who go belly up leave customers in a legally bad situation and then are not jailed for doing so....This just happened with a dealer in NJ and it took 6 months for DMV to finally release titles to the customers....

What bridge in NJ are you talking about?...just curious....

RE: On losing a friend.

God bless Derrick..... I am just starting to heal after a friend since childhood at 53 simply had a fatal heart attack---the trip down to the banks helped that...and I found a great place too...we did not have enough time to divert from the DelMarVa to get over to Galax but we will after winter....I just winterized yesterday as until late March due to work obligations..that's it for this season... On a happier note to add to your blog....I got my first diesel shower this weekend...I was coming back on 13 and stopped at the Royal Farms truck stop...First pump did not work so I circled around to another pump..got that to work and put on the tab to hold the diesel pump on..never had a problem--turned by head and POW--shoes got it ground got it and pants got it...I was right there so nothing spectacular but Stella had to get me a change of clothes and we put the old clothes and shoes in a garbage bag and stored it below.... Also when driving through pooring windy rain be weary that your cameras are useless at night. Ultimate happiness will be when I see NJ in my rearview mirror in about 8 years......

RE: a/c belt keeps breaking

The compressor pulley itself must be seizing upon engagement of the clutch to the compressor...I would replace the compressor clutch and the pulley that the belt turns....or since you have to do it anyway...replace the compressor and the pulley clutch...then no more problem...

RE: RV dealer promised to pay off loan, then closed shop

I've said this to people and I will say it again....know who you are doing business with and always FOLLOW THE MONEY.....get a check from the dealer and get it to the bank yourself or get a UPS receipt tracking number with the track and follow it....you have to protect yourself because although the dealer did something wrong..it is YOU who pays for it....

RE: New Coachman Pathfinder

It's a decent coach...but note the options (some don't have inverters, some don't have double pane windows etc.)..Coachmen/Forest River is healthy, so you should be good to go..this might have been sitting a bit, so check tires, battery etc...if this is in Pa at a dealer, it was originally at Dewalt's RV when they went belly up so this one could have been sitting close to two years.

RE: Mr. Melonis comes thru again.

I also have had Mr Lemonis make good...and I intend to give Camping World a try when I need something or for routine maintenance...I just wish each and every store had a manager that gives a darn...that's the attitude that has to come down from the top...A "mystery shopper" would find the dead wood....you never get a second chance to make a first impression...it is important that the first impression someone gets from a store and its personnel is that they have "the smell of the customer.."...then the profits will come in.

RE: Don't cry over spilt soup!

Derrick You crack me up...we are about to head south in this bad weather coming and my inverter/charger failed -- I had to rush it to the Magnum People like a sick child and am about to go get it--restart fridge and pack her up tonight...because the batteries won't charge and the fault light keeps strobing in the coach...one thing though is that Magnum stands behind its product..its just getting the 45 miles to the Magnum people...not costing me anything except time and aggravation... Please add...... If something is as reliable as Old Faithful, it will fail at the worse possible time.

RE: Closed on our new lot

Derrick I think you have given us a place to check out once next season hits...we are going to the OBX next week and now I have an alternative...Congrats!...the place is making me drool before I see it...

RE: Ice maker

Funny I'm learning about this the first time myself as I've never owned as icemaker before--you have to get the water out of the line...You can look up Dometic stuff and get the info on it right on line...Norcold is the same I think..

RE: Impressive Response From Camping World CEO

I also had an issue that Mr Lemonis handled perfectly with a toad setup....I only wish that the zeal he has "trickle down" to the store level.
