RE: Unlimited Data

Was your old Thunderbolt connecting to WiFi or the cell network? WiFi will always work - your phone is just a very small laptop at that point... :)

That's not the new Nexus. It's a Nexus-like experience, but it's not a true Nexus. It's labeled as the Google Galaxy S4.

RE: WDW8 Q?

This has more info on it. Faster processors run hotter. Other designs might contribute as well.
I suppose you could see if you could throttle the CPU back, but then that defeats the purpose of the faster processor.

RE: What Android apps do you find useful?

Some of those permissions are for advertising purposes. Phone info provides a unique ID that can be used by advertisers to identify you. Full Network Access is to allow non-HTTP Internet connections, possibly for advertising. As to whether or not they require the permissions they're asking for, you have to read their features and see what capabilities they provide and map that against the permissions they're requesting.
If it seems unreasonable, then don't install it.

RE: Verizon droid - losing pictures

You might want to look into a file browser like ES File Explorer. This will let you view the files on your device.
By default, your pictures are stored in the sdcard\DCIM folder. This would be the first place to look to see if the pictures are still on your device. It could be a caching issue within the Gallery, it could be a media scanner issue or something else entirely.

Surely there is a better website for such questions. I would post the same question on Google.Surely by now you realize that these kinds of questions are within scope. Every time you respond like this you get the same reply from the moderators...

RE: tablet with flash player?

All Android tablets support flash, If it's not native you can download it from either Amazon or Google app (Play) stores.
On the I pad, you may be able to download the add on from it's source as well. I do not know.. Apple is a tad Texas Insturments regarding their products.. (TI required all people selling stuff for the TI computers to sell through TI.. Commodore went open source.. TI lost. alas so did commodore)This is simply not correct. Adobe stopped support for Flash on Android last June and removed it from the Play store last August.

RE: tablet with flash player?

Keep in mind that Adobe Flash is no longer available for Android. While you can find older versions from various sources, you will have to manually download and install it and it won't be updated in the future. And it's possible that any browser currently supporting it will no longer do so in the future.
Flash is dead on mobile.

RE: Print Screen/Page in Firefox

Very cool!
If you don't want a full page screenshot (meaning it shouldn't show the entire scrolled page, only the currently viewable area), don't include the --fullscreen option.
Also, it seems to only do .png format. Specifying another extension will just make that part of the filename. For example, "screenshot test.jpg" will save the currently viewable area to test.jpg.png in your downloads directory.

RE: ideas needed-tablet + usb camera + screen capture?

What does this have to do with RVing? The banner for this forum is "Discussions regarding operation and technical aspects of the Web, computers, software, GPS, satellite TV, stereos and hi tech electronics for the wired RVer." The current question seems appropriate in that context.

RE: FoxFi Updated: Works on Some Late Model Motorolas Running JB

Ok works again on mine but what's with the need to put a pattern lock on your phone to enable FoxFi to work again?I'm not sure. Maybe they're exploiting something in the pattern lock? It's notoriously insecure.

FoxFi Updated: Works on Some Late Model Motorolas Running JB

PDANet has announced updated device support for some Motorola phones running Jelly Bean including DROID RAZR, RAZR MAXX, RAZR HD, RAZR MAXX HD, DROID Bionic, or DROID 4.
Seems to be only for Motorola devices so no joy for you S3 users out there.
