RE: I think I have a short circuit

It is normal. My Presidential Suite does the same. They are wired just as if they were brake lights on the rear. The bright turn and brake lights over-ride the running lights.

RE: Filling Water Tank on HR Alumascape

I have the same setup on my rig and it works just fine. Maybe you have a small leak in one of your connections or your hose is collapsing under suction. Mine will pump from a barrel @ about 3/4 the pace of a pressurized hose.

RE: Sidewinder hitch

Two things come to mind. The manufacturer of a 41' trailer will probably void your warranty for using the SW on such a heavy trailer. Why are you pulling such a heavy trailer with a shortbed pickup unless it is a 1 ton or better?

RE: Poor Brake Performance - Followup #2

I don't think they are ripping you off. It appears they are charging you retail on parts and a reasonable amount on the labor. Other posters are not adding up all the parts/services you mentioned. Brake assemblies, seals, MAGNETS, turning the rotors, packing the bearings, shop supplies, installation and adjustments. Sure, I would do this job myself and save quite a bit, but you are getting a fair amount of work for a fair price.

According to my torque table for a grade 8 1/2" 13 bolt the torque value is 80lb-ft.

RE: Please Pull Over!!

In Colorado you have to pull over not drive on the shoulder to allow faster traffic to pass. This usually only occurs on mountain roads.
Also, starting Aug. 5th, you have to give bicycles a 3 foot cushion when passing them. If you have oncoming traffic, you have to wait behind the bike until it is safe to cross the center line to pass them. This new law is already causing a civil war between motorists and bicyclists.

RE: Odor from Sinks

Keep trying the bleach. It worked for me. Maybe try a stronger solution.

RE: Yankton SD to Casa Grande AZ

Yes, there is a pass there in historical sense. There is a good story behind it also. But on today's modern highway, it has been cut and bypassed so in essence there is no pass to cross or worry about.

RE: Yankton SD to Casa Grande AZ

Try to travel through Denver and Colorado Springs mid morning or at night. The traffic is terrible. There is no Glorieta pass on I25. Just some hills. The only pass you will encounter is Raton just into New Mexico. It is a piece of cake anyway.

RE: Boat Trailer

You probably have surge brakes not electric. If so, it sounds like you might have pulled the breakaway cable inadvertently and the brakes are dragging.

RE: Freedom 20 not charging

Try resetting the inverter by unhooking it for several seconds. If that doesn't help, check the two fuses inside the inverter that are in the charging circuit.

RE: Freedom 458 Inverter problem

If the inverter doesn't recognize the correct neutral within so many seconds of plugging it in, an internal fuse can blow. That happened on mine. There are two internal fuses and they are 250ma or 600ma as I recall.

I like option 1. You can use electrical channel molding to bring the wire down neatly.

RE: Holiday Rambler Presidential Series

I have friends with Mobile Suites, Carri lites, Escalades, and Hitch Hikers in our resort. They are all nice, heavy also. I personally have had better luck with my Presidential Suite than they have with their rigs. I wouldn't trade for any of them.

Anyone currently at Santa Fe Skies?

A real good friend of mine just blew up his Duramax in his Silverado. He had his fifth wheel(hitch hiker) towed to Santa Fe Skies and is stranded there. I guess they are bringing in an engine from Florida so he will be there for a while. He and his wife sound depressed and I wondered if someone could give them a cheerful hello? Their names are Brian and Shirley and are the greatest people you could ever meet. Thanks to anyone that could say hello to them.

I just saw this today while searching for a receiver hitch. They have a motor kit for $300. Look about 1/2 way down the page on the left.

RE: Plant Shelf Window in HR Alumascape

The two large knurled spring loaded knobs also are threaded. Make sure you unscrew them at the same time so the window doesn't bind. They will remain in place in the glass. Remove the two small knobs from the bottom and store them. Now you only need to push the window out and into place.

RE: Rocky Mountain Nat. Park, hwy 34

Highway 34 from Loveland to Estes has plenty of places to pull off the road. If you are talking about trail ridge road in the park, there are only a few popular places to stop. However, all the traffic will be moving slowly so you wouldn't be holding anyone up. Stop at the popular places and take lots of pictures. A 32 foot rig will be no problem.
