RE: Outdoor Fashion: How do you outfit the family when camping?

:h HMMM Now there's a dress code for camping???.....I guess I've been doing all wrong....Never did figure out what to wear while sitting bunder the awning or what to wear while enjoying a nice fire.....LOL For me and my family whatever we have in the closet for the weather we are campiing in....shorts tshirts when it warm jeans and sweat shirts when it gets colder and hey If it matches I guess we win a prize...LOL It really just depends on who your camping for if "matching" outfits are your thing then be happy but don't judge those who go out with just the regular old clothes on as we all are out enjoying the great outdoors.......

RE: Anybody get cited for no safety sticker in Illinois?

Last year this saftey sticker requirement includes ALL 3/4 ton trucks. The town I work for thought we were exempt and maybe we were but now all of our 3/4 ton pickups (aka 4x4 pickups they use to plow snow with) have to have the saftey stickers on the windshields.....I believe it was passed into law in the last couple of years and yes there seems to be alot of "b plates" on the road with 3/4 ton & 1 ton pickups...just wait it catchup and that will change....

RE: I-57, Kankakee,IL

HI I haven't been there but here a site with reveiws on it rv park reviews
The town I live in has a campground big rig friendly easy to get to and we also have a Super Wal Mart right off of I-57 ay Exit 250. Only thing is theres no water available after Nov 1st. But power and sewer still available. I think it's $20.00 a night after Nov 1st I think it's $18.00 a night. We are about an hour 1/2 south of Kankakee.

RE: Getting Liquid Oxygen refills while traveling....

HI I would say if you refill your tanks at home. I would ask them about your travel plans and how one would go about filling one while traveling. Maybe someone else has a better answer but it's just a thought.

RE: Got to have the best Chili Recipe ever created....

Hi for us while camping we just add about every knid of meat that we have cooked over the campfire, bugers, boneless chicken breasts, smoked sausage, steak, brats, pork loin, chops etc....we just chop it up and add it to the chili. We spice it up the way you would for chiliand of course it's always taste better after simmering all day over the campfire....hhhmmmm kinda makes me wish I was making some now. We have even made up extra meat just to bring home freeze and make later. Not the same but the "smoky" flavor still in the meat. We have a local BBQ place who makes thier chili with the leftover smoked meat from the day before and boy does it taste good too....just my thoughts for making some.

RE: sewer hoses

Suggest you consider Sewer Solution in your query.
It uses water pressure to drain the black tank and you only need a 1" hose. A lot easier to handle and keep clean.
Its slower to dump so I use the ole standby stinky slinky at dump stations, but for campgrounds with hookups, its a snap. I've used mine for 5 years of fulltiming.
BTW: It will even work uphill if necessary and you can use some really long runs its said. I've never needed more than 30' myself.:hWhat's the point with full ups to use the sewer solution??? I could understand being in a place without full ups and running the small garden hose somewhere to dump, but with full ups the sewer connection is right there and you would just use your regular sewer hose after the tanks were full enough to dump. Just like you would do at the dump stations.....

RE: Kids and video games in the RV

Hi We allow our son to bring his game system and movies BUT they are only to be used in case of bad weather. However most of the time he doesn't even play it, sometimes he'll try to watch a movie after dark when he and (if his buddies come) aka boys weekends but after being on the run fishing and playing they are usally wiped out and asleep so it goes unused. LOL But we have been lucky with the weather while camping and havn't been dealt with alot of rain. Happy Trails
